My wife and I were in the mood for some Greek food, and I heard about Gyro Jimmy's, so I said let's go check it out. Located on Voice Rd in Carle Place in the back of the parking lot. It is spacious with plenty of tables. We go up to the counter and order 2 gyros and an order of fries. We did not order drinks, and we were asked if we wanted water. So, we took the water. We sat at a table the drinks and food were brought over to us. Great service. Our Gyros were plentiful with meat, and I ordered mine with no tomatoes and my wife with no onions and good portion of fries. The Gyros and fries were very good. We finished the Gyros but not the fries. Nice size portions. We were full. When were finished we were told not to clear the table, they would do it. A quick enjoyable meal for us with great service, looks like this is going to be our new Greek dining spot. Hope to return soon. A must try if you like Greek food. read more

This location is on a private road in a strip mall with little to no traffic yet offering ample parking, but this was a Monday. I don't know how parking will be for remainder of the week. Stepping inside of Gryo Jimmy's you can see that fast food casual ambiance. I loved the picturesque aesthetics as well. The dining area was immaculate and spacious offering some beautiful booth type seatting (Pictured) as well as regular seating. We were given a heartfelt hello and smile that was filled with gratitude from the gentleman and young lady that was behind the register. Looking over the menu was just a practice because we were predetermined to get a gyro. I chose a chicken gyro while my plus 1 chose the traditional gyro. We both had fries and the white sauce. At the end of ordering ordered, the young lady was kind and patient enough to ask if we wanted something else. She was not rushing us nor did she curtail the process of us ordering. She did take control of the sale by closing the sale with a confirmation of our order and threw in her suggestive selling tactics on the French fries. She remained in control by telling us to have a seat and informed us that she'd bring the order to our table. Our order came on beautiful wooden trays. Presentation is delivered sir/ ma'am! The chicken gyro was my first ever and I found it has taste worthy of praise. It was really delicious, PACKED with... Did you read that.. packed with sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, and cucumber. I ordered through Seamless for pickup, and the experience wasn't great. There was an internet issue, so my order wasn't ready when I arrived. That wasn't a problem, but while waiting, I noticed a few things that concerned me. One person in the back was handling meat without gloves, and the kitchen tiles looked dirty. With an open kitchen setup, cleanliness really stands out, and this didn't leave a good impression. The absolute best lamb/beef gyros!! I am consistently satisfied when I order. I've never ventured from my gyro sandwich, but my friend usually gets the gyro plate with lemon potatoes & rice, lemon soup & halloumi, and he raves about it! I love that the gyro sandwich has the tzatziki smeared on the pita so there's a perfect amount in each bite. I also love that the meat is nice and crispy. It always tastes so fresh! Horiatiki (authentic Greek salad) - good with the right amount of feta. 2. Traditional gyro plate - healthy amount of food and the meat was tasty. I wish they were slightly larger pieces but it was fine. 3. Pork gyro plate - tasty with a bit more chew than the beef/lamb. 4. Beet salad side - delicious. 5. Greek slaw - loved the acidity. Although there are quite a few casual Greek eateries in these parts, none that I've tried can compare to Gyro Jimmy's in terms of taste, quality, and pricing. My takeout order was beautifully packaged and ready on time which I always appreciate. Ordered the "Tasting Trio" (hummus, eggplant and taramasalata) appetizer to start, a huge portion of creamy goodness accompanied by a generous helping of yummy toasted pita chips. In fact the app was so large that we had to save the rest of our food for the next meal (no problem!). We both liked the hummus best but all of the dips were great. I'd never enjoyed a Cretan (Dakos) salad before so when I saw that on the menu I had to order it. Comprised of ultra-fresh diced ruby red tomatoes, creamy feta, capers, stuffed grape leaves and olives studded with large bread croutons, the salad was uniquely delicious. Got a side of the lamb/beef gyro as an extra protein, sliced thin and very flavorful. Hubby loved his gyro platter as well, especially the green beans that were cooked with savory carrots. Whenever I'm in the mood for a gyro, I usually order the lamb/beef gyro. Today, I saw that Gyro Jimmy's has a pork gyro (not to be confused with pork souvlaki). I gave it a try and dare I say...I liked it more than the usual lamb/beef gyro! I liked it so much that I think the pork gyro is now my go-to sandwich going forward! It was delicious and didn't seem as fatty as the lamb/beef gyro. The sandwich also had a perfect ratio of meat/salad/tzatziki sauce/french fries! Delicious combo. I am going to have a busy few weeks so I wanted to have a nice lunch with my buddy so I suggested Gyro Jimmy's. We walk into a very clean space. Frank looks over the menu, as for me? The next item to tackle is the Falafel sandwich. Frank orders a traditional sandwich and asks for no tomatoes. Frank's gyro was loaded with tomatoes. My sandwich has two Falafel balls with covered with lettuce, tomatoes and onions. There were no french fries or sauces on my sandwich. I asked for a side of Jimmy Sauce and was also given Tzatziki and Tahini sauce. I've been here twice and honestly, I can't wait to return. There are menu items that are calling me, Avgolemono, Spanakopita Spinach Pie, Horiatiki Greek Salad topped with Gyro meat and of course, their Baklava.
