I visited Gyro Village recently and overall had a good experience. It's a small location, but the ambiance gives it more of a sit down restaurant feel, which I appreciated. The service was great staff was friendly and attentive throughout. The portions are very generous, so while it is on the pricey side, you definitely get a lot of food for what you pay for. I didn't get any photos of the gyros, but they were absolutely delicious. The Greek salad was a standout huge portion and full of flavor. The only miss for me was the tyrokafteri. I've had much better elsewhere for less, and this one just didn't hit at all. That said, I would definitely come back, especially for that Greek salad! read more

Really wanted a good gyro sandwich but it was late and many places were closing soon. We saw that there was about an hour left here so we decided to give it a try. So glad we did because this little place did not disappoint! My friend and I each ordered a gyro sandwich and we shared an order of fries. The portions were healthy so we felt we were getting our money's worth. The quality of the meats were good and tasty and moist. Definitely will return if in the neighborhood again. I was in the mood for Greek food and was in the Bellerose area and saw this location pop up. Once I saw the good reviews, I knew I wanted to try it. The restaurant is pretty small with around 5-6 tables; looks like it's a location more for take out. I ordered their lamb gyro sandwich deluxe which came with French fries. My boyfriend ordered their bowl which came with lamb gyro, corn, beans, rice and feta cheese. My gyro sandwich was delicious, the lamb was cooked nicely, not at all dry. It had nice chunks of fresh tomato, onion and feta cheese. The tzatziki sauce was so tasty I had to order more of it. The service was great, our waiter was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Will be returning to try other items from their menu. read more

OMG. amazing. Probably the best Greek food place I've been in ages! I had a large Greek salad, and it was LARGE, with gyro meat. It was delicious and instead of the little bits of feta cheese that usually comes in it, there was a big square probably 3" X 3" 1/2" thick. There was a nice amount of gyro meat on the side and the meat was well done as I had asked. It's a lovely little corner place in the middle of floral park and the staff couldn't have been nicer! There are only about 5 small tables but they were doing a healthy take out business while we were there. There's a large parking lot in the rear. My daughter came away saying she could go there every night. We'll definitely be back. read more

I had plans to be in the Bellerose area, and knew for a fact that i was going to order food from Gyro Village, because i distinctly remember enjoying the last time i picked up takeout from them. Last time, i used Doordash to pickup my order, This time i opened the doordash app and saw the prices much higher then on the store website, so i just duplicated my order on the store website and saved about 8$. The portions are a lovely size, but on this go-around the rice was overcooked (fluffy) and the meat was a bit drier then i like for gyro. My grandparents wanted to eat close to Bellerose and I did not want to cook. So when I heard this restaurant had opened in Floral Park, we had to give it a try. Warning: they don't have alcohol. Food: 4/5 We were a party of four so, we ordered too many things! Like the dip sampler, grape leaves, and 4 entrées (pork Souvlaki and rice bowl). So, we could not finish it all and took it home. I really liked my pork entree but I was disappointed in the lemon potatoes. They weren't bad, but I've had better in Astoria. The bill went over $100, which made sense for how much we got. Service: 5/5 I have nothing bad to say about the service. They were attentive, kind, and happy to make suggestions. My grandparents felt very comfortable there and like being able to enjoy the sun while eating. All in all, if I am in the area why not? But, would I go out of my way? Probably not. This is a corner restaurant on Tulip Avenue right next to a huge popular upscale Italian place, with many other businesses in the area. And wow, the food is amazing. Huge delicious portions, prices reasonable for the area at a little over $20 per plate. It's clean, has simple decor, and has attentive hospitality. We loved our food and will have lots left over to eat for the next few days. Highly recommended. Note that parking in the area requires some patience.. there's a lot right behind the restaurant, but it's always full because of Cara Mia and Tulip Ave Diner. read more

What a wonderful addition to Floral Park! I came here for lunch with family and oh boy is it delicious. The food is so tasty and perfectly cooked. Everything from the pork skewers to the pita was incredible. The portions are sizable and great to share with others. Despite the place opening recently, operationally, they were fast and attentive. Our food came out super quickly and everything was made correctly. The restaurant itself is very nice and they clearly spent a lot of time renovating. It looks great. My family and I having been looking for a really good Greek restaurant for a while. The one we used to go to regularly closed and the others we've been to have been good, but tonight, Gyro Village is fantastic! Huge portions. I got a rice bowl and I'm so happily stuffed with leftovers to take home. There was absolutely no way I could eat it all. And thank you so much to the staff who fixed it when it accidentally came out with olives. The rice was delicious and the feta was so good. It was a huge amount of feta too. My daughter enjoyed her grilled cheese and my mom loved her Greek salad. We both got gyro meat with our meals and it was so flavorful. Little greasy, but that's ok. Honestly super duper impressed with the quality of food & service we received. At work we will have a catered lunch maybe once a month and it is not easy to coordinate & get great food for an office of 50+ people. But they really got it right! Food came hot, on time, and they very generously provided serving utensils, plates & cutlery. I heard they even called to make sure everything was good which I think is the first of all the resturaunts we had catered. Food: we got the greek salad, rice, lemon potatoes, chicken souvlaki, gyro, falafel, tzatziki & falafel. Everything was super fresh & delish. -- salad had big chunks of feta & some grape leaves. I do wish the salad dressing had more acid(?) because the meal was a bit heavier but overall super fresh!! -- rice to me was a little soggy but some coworkers said they liked the rice and it was super fluffy for them so i think its more about personal prefernce. -- lemon potatoes has a great lemon flavor and was not overcooked. Lemon potatoes are one of my favorite things and this definitely made the list of some of the best. -- chicken came in big chonks and was a pretty moist; and considering i took one of the top pieces from the giant tray for 50 people and it was better than i expected. Only thing is that it felt a little bland? Bit it had great sear and was plentiful! -- gyro was not too salty which is a huge deciding factor me if a greek place is good! It was NOT undercooked in any way but i personally like the burnt bits so i took some leftovers home and airfried it and it was amaaazing. -- falafel was much bigger than i expected - like a golfball? Maybe bigger? Outside was crunchy and the inside still moist and was probs the best falafel i had in monthss. I personally prefer falafel thats not as coarse but again thats a personal prefernce and did not stop me from having a bunch. -- the tzatziki was thiccc like hard to scoop thick. It was honestly amazing! We got some extra lemons so i did thin mine out a bit and i think that helped add a lot of brightness to the meal. Overall- definitely think it will be made part of the rotation and I will definitely consider ordering on my own for lunch to try some of their other menu items read more

A new greek place in Floral Park?! Yes!!!! I came here to get gyros for dinner and Im so glad I did. I ordered ahead over the phone and my order was ready so fast. The gyros were affordable and big for $11. I just wish it included fries but you can buy it on the side. I'm glad this place came into the neighborhood and I hope he stays for a long time. What a great addition to Floral Park that isn't another bar or nail salon lol. Next time I want to try their mix grill platter. Everything was great! Food was perfect, lucked out and was able to get a table and sit down with my coworkers. The staff was super attentive. They do lunch specials for I think $14 and you'll leave really full. Clean as a whistle. A steady line of people coming in while we ate, they didn't have to wait long at all for their food. Couldn't wait for this place to open. I've been going to Greek express in Franklin square and Gyro Village was a bit cheaper and was hoping better but it wasn't. Got the chicken gyro which the other place doesn't have so I was excited but when I got it, it just looked like chopped up chicken pieces not the sliced gyro that you cut off like regular gyro. Food: the food was delicious. The ingredients were fresh, perfectly cooked and seasoned. My judgement of the falafel is set by the falafel I had in Israel years ago, I must say they came pretty close!! Bravo! The only one slight thing is I would have liked a bit more tzatziki sauce, so I will request some next time.... Will certainly be a next time and more if this level is maintained.
