Went to the Edgewater Public Market place for Valentine's Day lunch and with all the options available this was what caught my eye. Went for a Greek salad with gyro meat and wasn't disappointed! Price was great for the portion and it was delicious. Came with a side of tzatziki sauce and warm pita. Great light option and the gentleman working the counter were very nice. We at from the food truck at Two22 Brew recently. Pretty pricey for what you get. I got two gyros and a pork schwarma for my husband son and I. About $30. There wasn't any extra sides to choose from, just the gyros, burgers and dessert. There were a few fries inside each wrap though so I don't see why I couldn't get extra fries. The gyros were good. Very nice bread and the meat was very tender. My pork one was a different story. The meat was chunky and tough. I had one piece that was all fat and one that was still raw in the middle. If there are kids working it is absolutely crap . I really hope they find some better staff soon . This is for the Edgewater Public Market location: Not to thrilled this evening, we waited for 45 minutes while many people after us kept getting their orders they obviously lost our order. mostly disgustingly, the gentleman at the front kept taking off his mask licking his fingers to separate bags and touching the food, not sanitary at all during these times. They managed to get our order wrong twice on top of loosing it, I figured after checking that 2nd, he wrote my order down so I figured this time it should be good to go when we got it boy was I wrong,...so wrong. we got home and we were missing the Saganaki, the fried Haloumi was not cooked and cold and the trio hummus was not a trio just regular hummus with lots of tomatoes and cucumbers. Now to review the food we got and didn't get. Gyro Sandwich- it was meh, needs Tzatziki I assumed it came with it but does not, it was simple food court style in flavor. "Opa" Saganaki deep fried cheese - ordered it didn't get it could tell ya what it taste like. Haloumi pan fried goat cheese - not cooked at all, simple feta is what it tasted like cold with dried herbs and olive oil, good but not what is advertised at all. Hummus Trio: red pepper hummus, green Chile hummus, and regular hummus with veggies and pita - the hummus was not all that was advertised we only got regular hummus none of the other two, the hummus was so spicy because of the amount of raw garlic I love garlic but this is a smack in the face loaded with garlic. My husband got a traditional gyro at Edgewater Public Market a few weeks ago and the taste I had was great, so I ordered my own a couple of weeks later and loved it. I went with the chicken souvlaki because I'm not always sure how I feel about lamb and it was packed full with chicken, tzatziki and of course, fries! The pita is my favorite part. The food has always been excellent, but the service is even better. We ordered a delivery from Doordash that got messed up on Doordash's end. The restaurant called us to inform us that the food was ready, but the Dasher hasn't shown up. Much wrangling with Doordash later, they sent a new Dasher. As the food had been sitting for at least an hour then, Gyros King--even though it wasn't their fault--offered to remake a fresh batch of food and threw in a couple baklavas on the house to boot. read more

I am sorry to give this place 1 star.. I don't like rating places poorly, but this Gyro King unfortunately was not good when it came to the food's flavor. The gyro meat itself was so bland, the tabbouleh salad was hard and the tomatoes and cucumbers were cut very large and the salad only had a few. I am used to it being a very incorporated part of the salad and less of a sparingly used topping. Additionally the gyro sandwich was $13, the tabbouleh salad was $12 and the gyro plate was $18 :( There is no way I can justify this price point for the food itself, but I except that rent must be expensive and I 100% believe in paying essential workers way more than they make. I wish I could have just donated the money instead of having a bad food experience is all! Sorry again for writing a 1 star review, but the food was the main factor in the rating. Pretty decent greek food but not always consistent (last time my gyros were cooked until they were crispy, but times before were good). We live next door so get them a lot. Do not order via Grub Hub. The order took well over an hour (although I live less than 2 miles away). When the food finally arrived, it was stone cold and largely inedible. They also failed to include my grape leaves order yet charged me anyway. Total ripoff. read more

We have been looking for a great gryo place and we definitely found it. Their gryo plate is delightful and their lamb doesn't make us burp due to crazy seasonings. What a great food truck! It was so conveniently parked outside one of the clubs that we were leaving, which was brilliant because after a night of drinking you just want some delicious greasy food... and the gyros king did not disappoint! I wish I would've taken pictures before devouring my food, but trust me it was soooo good! What I appreciate most is that they don't load up the gyro which too much sauce, it was just the right amount. They have a variety of different gyros to pick from but I went with the "American" which was lamb and beef, their fixings and fries. They don't skimp you on the meet either! We also ordered some fries Greek style which was load with feta cheese. Yum! If you're lucky enough to come by this food truck, don't pass it by. Ordered AGAIN, failed to get our whole order. $12 Sakanaki not there. Hummus trio consisted of only a single hummus. The Haloumi, which is supposed to be pan seared cheese was not cooked. The man taking and bagging the orders kept lowering his mask and licking his finger to open the bags before packing the food away. He shook hands with people, didn't wash or sterilize them before turning back around to handle food. I ordered a traditional gyro at civic center eats, it was a little pricey, and I received a buzzer to notify me when the food is ready. After 25 minutes of waiting, I walked back to the truck, and one of the workers told me that he had been buzzing me several times. The buzzer didn't make any noise or buzzed...not good.
