Me and four friends went to the Haberdasher on a Monday at 4. I'm glad that we got there when we did because the space got busy quickly. After eating, I understood why. I was a little confused at first since there's no servers. You go up to the bar to order drinks and to the kitchen window to order food. It was a different experience but I enjoyed it because it means you don't have to wait for a server. I ordered the Fried Oyster Mushrooms and the Shrimp Gochujang. My friends shared the KFC, the Mushroom pasta, and Parmesan Truffle Fries with me. Everything was so delicious. I'm now obsessed with the Fried Oyster Mushrooms and have to force myself not to order every day. The same with the Truffle Fries. I loved the ambiance. It's a chill and inviting space. Perfect for a night out or a quick cocktail after work before heading home.

This is an interesting cocktail bar and it has a great atmosphere inside. They have very nice cocktails and a decent beer selection, but they definitely seemed understaffed when we visited back in May as tables were not cleaned and they had a difficulty time keeping up with the crowd (and it was why we didn't end up getting any food). They definitely need more staff, but it's still a nice place to grab a drink.

Our team at work went to The Haberdasher for drinks and some food. I had never been to The Haberdasher but I've heard it was good. Since I'm not much drinker I was there solely for the food. Our team a bunch of appetizers and I tried to try them all. There also was first thing that I tried was the French fries. I enjoyed them. They came with a mayo sauce. Not a big mayo on fries fan but it worked. I then tried the Brussels sprouts. Not sure what they were seasoned with but they tasted pretty good. Next was the chicken tenders. I dipped them in what seemed like a chili sauce. It had a lot of spice but it tasted good. The mahi mahi slider was next. It was my favorite appetizer. It was cooked to perfection and the sauce on the slider was very tasty. After that was the fish part of the fish and chips. I think the fish was cod. I was impressed by it. It wasn't better than the mahi mahi but it was good. The last thing I tried were the avocado fries. I really like them. To be honest if I wasn't full from the other food I would've eaten more of the avocado fries.

I'm hesitant to say it out of selfishness, but in addition to being the best bar and having the coolest name, there is a hidden gem of a restaurant. The absolute best fish and chips in Mobile and the steaks are second to none. If you haven't dined at the Hanerdasher you are missing out!

One my favorite places to eat in Mobile! Flavor, ambience, and consistency. They also change their menu from time to time to keep things fun. Avocado fries are a near perfect appetizer. Smash burger is a must try and the food comes soon after you order. Service is great, they know what they're doing. Go on a date, with friends, or by yourself.

WOW. This place absolutely floored me. I came in for fish & chips, and as I saw a steak coming out of the kitchen I quickly swapped my order to the NY Strip. This was hands down the best steak I've ever had and I don't say that lightly. I paired it with their "Jerk Store" cocktail. It was just perfect. I will drive from home (3 hours west) just to get this again.

Fantastic! Good selection of draft beer, many local. Tried a portobello sandwich which was on special and it was delicious! I like the casual atmosphere, no waiters, order drinks at the bar and food at the back. Highly recommend! read more

Have to give kudos to this establishment. My sister and I were in the mood to end our evening with Irish coffee. We live at both ends of the U.S. and love to do this when we see each other. The bar tender was so gracious to make a new pot of coffee and made the best Irish coffee with whip cream on top! So nice and so very wonderful. We even walked past him the next day and he remembered us! Thank you for a special memory. read more

for those who don't bother reading the signs that you order your drinks at the bar and food at the food counter, this place rocks!! I don't often leave reviews, but the lamb, fries, flatbread were phenomenal and cocktails were over the moon. The kitchen in the back of the bar is very New Orleans, which I liked on first impression. Our cocktails were solid and the staff were friendly. Yelp reviews lead me to expect good things when it came to food but I was highly disappointed with it. The ricotta really accented the blandness of my sandwich. I don't know if Ricotta is a new kitchen-scene thing or what, but if frankly doesn't work in sandwiches as the only cheese, no matter what any hipster says it's blah. It didn't help matters that a few hours later I was mildly sick to my stomach. One effort that I will applaud is the vegetarian options on their menu! read more

Super bummed! I come into town once a month for work and was looking forward to the Jerk Shot cocktail, but I had the bartender look past me and serve 4 people in front of me. Yes.. it was crawfish night which I didn't know, but I came in and sat right at the end of the bar and knew what I wanted. After she helped someone in front of me, without even acknowledging me, I just left. I'm super easy to please and this was just not what I had hoped. read more

I really wanted to love this place and was excited to visit. The staff were friendly enough and it's extremely cozy inside. I like the counter service idea because you never have to wait and can order courses and rounds at your own pace. Unfortunately the food offerings were a bit boring (variety and execution) and the drinks were too. A lot of the drinks were similar in composition and, although we tried to order a range, the flavors were often overwhelmed by ingredients that made them taste the same. The music was all over the place and not necessarily in a good way. I like the layout and commend this establishment for trying to do something a bit different, unfortunately, for me, it just wasn't a hit. read more

Great new place on Dauphine! It's refreshing to finally see a place on Dauphin that takes great pride in quality cocktails. There is an art to this and Haberdasher has filled the niche. Great inexpensive food as well. All good! read more

Food was excellent but disappointed in service. We were with 3 other couples, we all ordered at the same time. They were all finished eating and we still did not have our food. We watched as others behind us received their food. We checked several times and the standard line was " your next". It was clear they forgot our order and the worst part was that they wouldn't admit it. Barely an apology!! read more

The Haberdasher has become too attractive to tourists since moving closer to the hotels. The kinds of tourists Mobile gets are visitors for the "Classic" football game between teams like Tuskegee or the Buffalo Soldiers bikers. It isn't worth the extra trip and parking into downtown for locals and the old local atmosphere isn't there anymore. Thank goodness for some newer options to the west but I long for one closer to Spring Hill again. Drinks are probably the better menu item but they might have gotten too used to service tourists with all flair and less substance. read more
