Decent spot on a lively street in downtown mobile. Definitely need to be in the mood for fried food or bao buns here haha! Drink service was a little slow but the food came out relatively quickly. Everything tasted great!

We stopped in for a drink and tapas on a Wednesday night. The menu is very interesting but sadly the restaurant was dead. We ordered the SOS calamari. The concept seemed good the sauce as tasty but the calamari, while tender, had an old fishy taste. Bummer! We also tried the fried deviled eggs. Nothing to wow you. We ended with a shrimp po boy with fries. Hot, crispy tender shrimp on a great bun. French fries were hot and crispy. Definitely the best food of the night. Service at the bar was good.

Peach bao bun Ala mode! The ice cream was a bit over churned (hard) but I give it a 10! Definitely eclectic in a great way!

I have been here probably at least a dozen times and it's never disappointed! LOVE their mob town fries. Very spicy, but so worth the heat. And their burgers are amazing! Baos are great. Honestly, all their food is great.

Literally, stopped here during a road trip just to try the famous calamari, which really was tasty. Perfect crunch with a nice seafood variety. Not sure how I felt about the squid ink sauce but the orange sauce was kickin! Ordered togo although the service I received made me want to go back! The bartender was so incredibly hospitable and sweet. She addressed me by name and made me feel welcome and appreciated for coming in. Also, it was my first time visiting the city of Mobile so Squid Ink really left a great impression!

The best bathroom wall art I've ever seen

Very yummy and unique food! I'm not a frequenter of downtown but I'm definitely going to make it a point to go more often just to eat here more. I had the mob bao and they were absolutely perfect. If you have a big appetite you may want to order 3 of them though because it only comes with 2. It says that on the menu but just be aware in case you're a big eater because they're rather small. Super delicious. Had the pork skins as an appetizer and they were also good. The sauce that came with them was great. One of the best things though was the art in the bathroom, they have doodles on the walls and one of the things is the leprechaun from Chrichton

Met with co-workers here for dinner on a Thursday evening. The location was busy, there were no seats available outside so we ended up being seated upstairs. The upstairs space is relatively small and our table was being hit directly by the air. I would recommend bringing a jacket if you get cold easily! Our waitress was knowledgeable of the menu and were able to provide recommendations and answer any questions we had. The food was served in a timely manner and everyone was pleased with their selection. Overall we had a pleasant experience.

I don't know what we were expecting but we were blown away by the atmosphere, the appetizer, and our service. Eli was incredible despite him getting slammed with drink orders right after we sat down. He worked magic, kept everything moving smooth, and even mentioned us a couple places in Mobile to check out while we were in town. The Tuna Tortas were so fresh and the perfect snack. We ordered two cocktails with the notorious squid ink in them- it was actually a little sweet and well balanced in the drinks. A highlight of our trip. Will be by again . - Alex & Eric

This was a stop on the Boo Brunch Tour and it did not disappoint. We sat outside. There are swings with tables or tables and chairs. Service was awesome! We had a really good breakfast bowl. Highly recommend!

Delicious, generously portioned food with excellent service and cocktails. The market/ mahi mahi grilled sandwich was a nice thick cut of fish with just a light spread of remoulade. The fried pork chop sandwich was also a huge portion and went great with the pickle and other veggies. The fries were crispy but a little underseasoned. They were hefty portions though and were good when dipped in their house made ranch. Pretty much all the condiments are made in house. The cauliflower appetizer was yummy with the cojita cheese but this was surprisingly not a very big portion compared to the rest of the meals, so can only share between 2 people at best. Our bartender Caleb knew the menu in and out and had great recommendations. He told us a lot about the history of Mobile and gave us suggestions of where t visit in the area. They had a handful of local craft beers on draft. The eight arms, no legs cocktail was outstanding, a little on the sweeter side, and it was kinda cool trying the squid ink. The bar top was a little sticky. They have a lot of out outdoor seating, with some cool swing style seats.

Ate here during Mardi Gras, so I have to take that into consideration on the wait time. Ambiance was a vibe. Waiter was great! I had the chicken pasta - it was good, but not life changing.

Enjoyed lunch today before going to the boat show at the Waterfront Convention Show. Haley was our waitress and she was friendly and made our dining experience great. My husband and I both enjoyed the delicious Cadillac burger.

Service and atmosphere was great. I had the seafood pasta. The calamari was rubbery at best but the shrimp was perfect. I would go back.

My husband…read morehad made reservations for us and his parents, but as life goes, we were running a few minutes behind, so we called and let them know, and the lady who answered was very kind and told us not to worry. (This was a 4:30 reservation when they were not as busy.) They seated us at a table that accommodated the four of us perfectly. I should add that my father-in-law was in a wheelchair, and the ladies were quick to adjust the table settings for us so that he would fit comfortably. Our waitress, Roxy, was just as helpful as a server. My father-in-law also has dementia, so ordering for him at restaurants can at times be very tricky. She was ever so patient and suggested some items that could work for him based on what my mother-in-law shared are things he usually will eat with ease. But hospitality and service are only part of the reason you go to a restaurant, because let's face it, if the food were bad, who cares how nice everyone is. In this department, they were also on point. Roxy explained the menu changes seasonally. We dined on July 3, peak summer. I should also add that I am 7 weeks pregnant, and so I need to be careful with what I am consuming. To drink, I had an orange glow - with cardamom, lemon, orange, and strawberry (and the only item I remembered to photograph - blame it on how delicious the food was or on my pregnancy brain). It was refreshing and sweet, without being too juice-like. My mother-in-law ordered a moscato and my husband had a blond ale. We all consumed our beverages in their entirety before the end of the meal. I'll add here that the young lady who went around refilling waters was extremely on point. If our glasses were halfway emptied, she came around and filled them (which with how much water I'm currently intaking, she came by quite a bit). To start, we ordered their garlic yeast rolls. It comes with a garlic butter which you can add to the rolls, but let me tell you how it doesn't need the extra butter (though it is mighty delicious). I could live in those rolls. They were flaky and buttery, like a croissant, but in a yeast dinner roll. If it's on the menu when you go, please do yourself a favor and order. There are 4 to an order. My husband and I shared the 4th one, and I would have ordered another set of 4, but at that point I would have just been eating with my tastebuds and not my actual stomach. But they *are* that good! My husband and I both ordered the filet. I can't eat anything cooked less than medium, though I'm typically a medium rare girl, and let me tell you - it was still juicy and delicious, a sign of a chef who knows how to cook a good steak. The black garlic butter was heavenly. The steak was a bit too seasoned for me (but pregnancy taste buds are something else). My husband ordered it medium well, and he loved it (and he's only recently come around to enjoying a nice piece of red meat). They came accompanied with a celeriac potato au gratin which was perfect - not overly cheesy, and the celeriac (first time eating this) was perfectly sliced. My husband also ordered the cheese grits and collard greens. The grits were a whipped-like texture, soft and creamy. The collards were not something I could stomach. Blame it on those pregnancy taste buds again. My mother-in-law also ordered collards and they both loved them. For me, the vinegar was just too much to handle. My mother-in-law opted for the ribeye, medium rare with the broccolini, and she said it was "scrumptious, delicioso, and magnificent (in a French accent)." As delicious as it was, she and I could not finish our meals, so we asked for a to-go boxes. Roxy packaged them up for us, and labeled each box with what it contained and when it was packaged. Of course, when it came time for dessert, we were beyond full, but we ordered a prickly pear sorbet to share. And it was just what was needed to cleanse the pallet after such a flavorful meal. The coconut mousse was light and airy and paired well with the sorbet. If you're in the mood for some good southern fusion in Pensacola, Iron is the place to try.
