Just received the generic VM saying the voice mail box is full.!?!?!??? How do you stay in business with your business setup as a one woman show?!? Wow. I didn't know wizards existed outside of Harry Potter until I met Lauren. Seriously. After having a pixie cut for some time, I decided to grow my hair out. And because I'm literally the most impatient person in the world, I wanted to bypass that ugly 'middle stage', which was looking a bit too much like a mullet for my taste, and get extensions. We went over my options, she answered all my questions, she color matched my hair, and gave me a quote. The quote was the most painful part, but in the end, the decision to move forward was worth every penny. Next, I came in for the big transformation when my new hair arrived. We went with Great Lengths extensions since my hair was so short, and those little bonds hide better than the less expensive tape kind. The appointment flew by. Lauren is so personable and such good company and her hands fly so swiftly through your hair that before you know it you'll be out of that chair. The process wasn't painful. She simply sections off your hair, and works her way from left to right, right to left placing your new strands on little pieces of your hair. She knows what she's doing. After the extensions were placed I couldn't even tell they were there. Afterward, she gives you a little haircut to blend in the new hair to your hair. The blending haircut and color match were done so well there is no way you'd be able to tell the extensions weren't my own hair. Lastly, Lauren gave me some reminders telling me how best to take care of my new hair, showed me the brush and products I should use to make them last as long as possible, and I left feeling informed and beautiful. Sleeping on the extensions takes a little getting used to. You feel the little bumps of plastic all over your head, and it's annoying at first, but by night 3 I'd forgotten about it. Yes, it's been a couple of years since I did my extensions with her and the only reason I remembered is because I was cleaning my pictures and found that horrible picture with extensions. Here is the story: I had shorter hair, my hair is thin and never been colored (until this year). I've contacted many places but Lauren was the promising one. She said she can order 5 start virgin hair, those hair were the most expensive. I obviously trusted professionals (not anymore). First of all, hair did not match the color, she had to use toner. Second, hair was not virgin, they were thick, dry, colored and CUUURLY! After taking my first shower after extensions were done, I come out and hair on top which were mine were straight and everything else was curly. Looked like I had a hat on. I've literally had people asking me whats going on with my hair?! I contacted her, she offered to get a treatment done (something like Brazilian relaxing) I HAD VIRGIN, UNCOLORED HAIR, why would use so many chemicals because of the hair you put on me? Two weeks later I came to take them off! I paid 2K for the worse job I ever had. She was not sorry, she didn't even say bye when I was leaving, she acted like it was my fault that she doesn't know how to work with my hair type. ON TOP OF THAT, she had extra hair that she did not use and was supposed to either give it back to me or at least let me know that she is keeping them for the next time I decide to come back. I paid for the hair by itself almost 1k for her to keep them. I ordered my own hair that I found on the Instagram, from Russian which was 100% virgin, uncolored and matched my hair 100% ....it cost me $400 and I spend another $200 for putting them on. I got the most compliments I ever had. DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH BEFORE WAISTING YOUR TIME AND MONEY! (Since I can't reply to your comment, my review was entirely referring to 3 years ago, and extensions that I did was right after I took off yours, at the same time when my hair was short and uncolored. Not now. I reused my extensions 3 times until my hair grown out. I didn't ask for Russian hair I asked for virgin, uncolored hair, which ended up being not just colored but also curly, thick and dry. And if you could not get me what I asked for you should have said so right away. That is very unfortunate that you had to take a day off to make 1K! Thanks for not charging me to take off that wisp of bast from my head, I'm used to getting it done for FREE from any other place where they put them on for you). I've intended on writing a review for a while now, but between school and work, this review has been LONG overdue. Around September 2014, I had been doing some research on hair stylists in the Bay Area who knew how to work magic with extensions. After seeing a few pictures of Lauren's work, I knew she was the one for the job. I made a call and set up a consultation for that following Saturday. Came in, discussed the color, length, extensions type, and overall plan for what was to come! Keep in mind, when we first started, I came in with short burgundy hair and about three or four inches of roots, it was bad. I obviously trusted Lauren to dye my hair because I wanted the color to match the extensions flawlessly. We scheduled an appointment that following week to dye my hair, then made another appointment within a few days to complete the finishing product. Lauren was a pleasure throughout the whole process. After a total of 10 hours on my hair, the finishing product was magical. I left the studio feeling like a completely different person. The microbeads take some getting used to, but you learn to work around them and warn others to look, not touch. The money was also a little pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for! 37 weeks later and I still feel blessed to have found such a beautiful hair stylist. I went to see Lauren to get my hair thermally straightened as well as to get extensions 2 weeks later. My hair looks AMAZING. I have really curly hair and have had really bad luck in the past. The last time I had my hair thermally straightened it fell out in chunks and I vowed to never do it again. As a result I needed extensions but they looked fake. When Lauren straightened my hair she talked me through the process and explained why my previous hairdresser ruined my hair. She is extremely knowledgeable on the subject. Now on to my extensions.
