CHOP JOB…read more I brought a friend of the family (Sigrid Egan - 85 years young) whom I'm helping out right now because she fell and has a broken shoulder/arm from the fall. #1 - We came in yesterday and asked Fernanda, the stylist to trim/cut her hair in the style that it was already. We asked her to follow the previous cut line and trim it please. #2 - When I got back to pick her up I was shocked at how bad her hair looked. She did not follow the previous cut line or style at all. #3 - I went back in the salon to buy hair product and I let Brinlee at the front desk know that Sigrid wasn't happy and neither was I. She said they could fix it. Really, it was already a completely different style and its too short! Sigrid is tired now so we will take a look at her hair and get back to you tomorrow. It's now tomorrow... #3 - The front of her hair was way too short and she used a curling iron to style it after the blow out. Sigrid just wanted a blow out with round brush. The cut/style made her look 5-7 years older. The cut/style was for a much older lady. The side and back of her hair should have been cut or shaved up and not straggly. Behind her ears she cut her hair too close so you see her head, there's a clump missing. Sigrid is so upset that she spent a total of ($102.00 including tip) for services rendered. What a shame it is that Fernanda wasn't listening to what she and I asked for regarding a trim/cut of the previous style/ cut. I'm writing this review for Sigrid because she doesn't have Yelp. She wants her money back for this terrible haircut ($60.00). She had a deep conditioning treatment ($30.00) as well but Sigrid has paid for that service and doesn't want that money back. #4 - In addition, she is a Senior Citizen and she didn't get that senior discount you so happily offer on your website either. My hair looked wonderful leaving the salon, however two hours later, at an outdoor wedding, my hair completely went flat again. Not sure if the blow-out was meant for me or my hair was too thin to stand the humidity (yes there is humidity in AZ). Loved the look she gave me, very natural and close the pictures I showed her. She was very sweet and hard-working. My makeup looked great for about 2 hours, and then with the wedding being outside, and it was hot, and the makeup on my face did not stay put. My face got sweaty and oily. I did not know that airbrush makeup was available and would have opted for that. I love the concept of primp and blow, and they definitely offer a much needed service for us ladies who need primping for an event. The salon is super modern, and clean. Overall my stylist did well, but I don't think a regular blowout is for me, as I have ultra straight hair and it doesn't style well in curls or rollers.

I always enjoy my blowouts and makeup appointments with Selena, Carrie and Maya. They're detail oriented and just great people! Tip: if you're new, please openly communicate with them and show them pictures of the look you want. I was paired with Dakota, who contacted me immediately to confirm everything. When I arrived at the salon, Dakota was already waiting to greet me and even offered me water. I loved that the salon had a fun, casual vibe--nothing pretentious at all. Everyone was genuinely friendly. Dakota and I went over the style I wanted, and she took her time to make sure it came out exactly how I envisioned. When I wanted to tweak it a bit at the end, she happily accommodated. This is an investment and i needed to make sure I had every confidence in her. I have had hair extensions for a few years off and on and by different people some who I wish I didn't. So I know what I am looking for and what I am to be cautious over. 1. Her place was very clean, the light was not bright enough in my opinion (didn't bother me much for the consultation) but cleanliness is more important. 2. SHe is very knowledgable and asked me alot of questions on my expectations, my future hair colors if any etc.. 3. SHe was open and upfront with her schedule and I could tell she was looking to try and fit me in. 4. The only thing that threw me was I ad to go buy my own extensions form a place in Oakland because she orders hers through an online store and I wanted mine done before they would arrive. Maybe I am spoiled but usually my hairdressers would go get the hair as it is their specialty and it removes a lot of mistakes that could happen. 5. The place she sent me to was HUGE!!!! But her contact there treated me well and knew I was her client just by the card she handed me. It was great, he even gave me a discount. All in all 4 stars I couldn't give 5 due to the fact I had to drive to Oakland and back for my own hair. Thus far she is extremely polite, very professional, and thorough. I love the communication and I will write the second half of my review when I get the hair put this coming Monday... yup tomorrow.
