Don't waste your money & time. They just suggested minoxidil, generic hair vitamin tablets & sulfate free shampoo's , which you could buy it from any generic store for less than $100. They charged $2200 for the tablets, minoxidil & 12 sessions of laser treatment. I lost more hair after using these. Definitely not worth for $2200 & all these hassles. read more

Nice people. Be prepared to pay at least 1k for services. I had to pass and just be patient and allow my hair to grow back. I had tension on my edges so I used hydrocortisone and nizoral to reduce inflammation and promote hair growth respectively. Growth is slow but coming along nevertheless. I saved $1300. read more

Had my initial appointment yesterday, and I had a REALLY great experience with Bobby, the tricologist on staff at this establishment. I had become quite desperate to find out the cause of my hair loss that began rather suddenly about a year ago. As I am 60+, I knew my hair would begin to thin somewhat and it had, but all of a sudden it started falling out like crazy. I asked 2 different MDs what the issue was, and the only thing they both had to say was, "Meh. Who knows." My whole issue was that I wanted to know WHY it was happening, and if there was anything *I* could do about it. Was it hormones, age, stress, heredity, a vitamin deficiency, environmental factors....WHAT??? So, I was doing a random search on the internet for something (ANYTHING!!) that might help me get some answers, and I stumbled across this business. Their site said the initial consultation was free, so I braced myself for some major hard sell and forged ahead. When I arrived for my appointment, I filled out a questionnaire and was whisked back to Bobby's office in about 10 mins. He introduced himself as a trichologist (a...what...??), who is someone that specializes in all things hair and problems with having it, growing it, keeping it, etc. He told me he had had 4 years of training and some other general info about himself and what to expect, and then he took about three or four extremely magnified pictures of my scalp. We are talking like you can see the individual hairs and the skin clearly between each hair. In a very short period of time, he told me the reason my hair was falling out was because I was using Permanent haircolor!!! I was in total shock, as I have been coloring my hair on and off for years and had never had a problem before! He explained (it's just too detailed to go into) exactly why and how it was happening, and I was completely convinced by the time he finished my Show and Tell. I really was stunned, and I was utterly elated that it WAS something *I* could do something about. He told me that if I followed his recommendations, i.e., switching to semi-permanent hair color, taking some over-the-counter supplements, etc., that I would start to see my hair grow back in short order. We then spent an extremely helpful, informative, and interesting hour talking about hair, what factors affect it, how different vitamins and minerals (or deficiencies thereof) impact it, what the chemicals in permanent hair color do to your scalp (not good), what stress does, etc. I have to say I was completely blown away, because I had NEVER heard this information nor the connections amongst personal habits, stress, vitamins, minerals, overall health, etc., that impact hair. I am still stunned about what I learned. He basically told me that in 2 weeks, I would start to see a difference, and that in 3 months I would see a dramatic difference in the amount and quality of my hair. I am so excited I can hardly believe I learned all this after I had been searching and worried out of my mind for so long. Please realize that I read and read and READ and keep up on the latest/cutting edge technology on overall health and exercise ALL THE TIME, and I have NEVER heard what he was telling me before. And the most amazing thing of all, and what proved to me that this guy and this establishment were legit, is that the consultation WAS free and there was no hard sell of ANY kind. He mentioned laser therapy as an addition to my new regimen, and it is something I am considering, but there was NO hard sell of any kind. In general, he was a great guy and it was a great experience. Terrible service. I really wish I went to other specialists before trusting Bobby. It is not true at all that you only need to use minoxidil and laser therapy for a few months and you are done. He told me I only needed them for three months. As soon as you stop minoxidil and laser, all your new hair will fall off. The handheld device that he offers is only %10 effective so unless you go to the office for laser therapy for the rest of your life, the device he gives you will not work. I have not been able to go for a follow up for a year. I have tried many times to make an appointment and after weeks of trying, I finally get an appointment. When I showed up to my appointments, Bobby was busy with new consultation so he did not see me. This happened three times and it's been a year and I still have not been able to see him. All he wants is your money and as soon as you pay, you have to fight for a follow up. read more

My husband started noticing my hair falling out, and of course, I panicked. After searching on Yelp, I came across Bobby Spence. I booked a free consultation and when you're in the waiting room, watching the television ads for him and his practice, you wonder what he's going to sell you. But I went in, and was pleasantly surprised. He told me that the ammonia from my hair dye was reacting badly with my birth control pills, and that's what was causing my hair to fall out. He showed me pictures of my scalp which had reacted badly with the chemical and told me which birth control pills to switch to. He also told me which supplements to take (vitamin D and B-12). I also really liked his personality, which was very engaging and compassionate. I made the mistake of going to a chain salon close to my house to get my hair dyed, which resulted in my normally healthy hair being over processed (read: lots of breakage, no growth and severely shedding hair) and scalp damage. I tried to fix the damage myself with other hair loss meds (that broke me out) and hair masks but nothing was helping. I was literally losing handfuls of hair everytime I brushed or shampooed. After about a month, I reached out to Trichological Associates (aka The Hair Loss Clinic). Everyone was (and continues to be)absolutely wonderful! Very professional but not clinical or judgy. The problem was immediately diagnosed and a solution provided (I opted to also undergo laser therapy in addition to the other offered treatments). I'm about halfway or a bit more through my treatment and have seen tremendous results. Virtually all shedding stopped immediately, and I have a significant amount of new regrowth (about an inch). Here is a short summation of my experience with Trichological Associates. I'm 70 years old. My hair had been thinning for some time, but the rate of thinning was really accelerating. I didn't have enough hair to cover my scalp, and what I had was so fine that it would only lay flat on the top of my head. I looked like a drowned rat. When I called The Hair Loss Clinic for a consultation, I was desperate but had no intention of signing up for anything. Trichologist Bobby Spence (who is wonderful) looked at my scalp, told me that my follicles were in good working order, discussed what had been causing my hair loss, and said that I should have a significantly fuller head of hair after three months of treatment if I followed their instructions. I signed up and am soooo glad I did. My hair is now thick enough to stand up without mousse, hairspray or other similar products. It's been quite awhile since my hair was this thick. I don't know if others will get this result, but I believe that Bobby (and fellow trichologist Daile) will honestly let you know if they can help or not. I went and I spoke with the trichology Bobby Spence. I was very impress (I said that because I'm an RN and I have been talking to Dermatologist and Endocrinologist and they did not give me a good explanation at all) he explained me very important subject about hair loss and treatments. The cost is about 2000. I haven't done it I'm using their Monoxidil with Saw palmetto for 2 weeks now and I'm about to buy the laser brush, so I will have to write another review for their products I'm just waiting for them to work so far I give him 5 starts because the free appointment was excellent . This is only the 2nd review I've ever written on Yelp but Bobby Spence is worth writing about. My hair has been falling out since February 2016. It started abruptly and hasn't stopped. At the time of visiting TA, I'd estimate I'd lost 1/3rd of my hair by diffuse thinning. Both my mother and great grandmother wear wigs due to progressive hair loss - and I was terrified that at 40 years old - I was facing the same fate. This was even more emotional for me because only 2 years prior I'd undergone chemotherapy for breast cancer and had just regrown my hair - which was thick and beautiful after the regrowth. I spent every waking minute since Feb 2016 worried that I was going bald like my relatives and that there was very little the medical community could do about it (according to the internet). I got blood work done by 2 excellent internists but they both said everything appeared "within range" - I even got my hormones tested (also in range). I even made an appointment at Columbia University in NYC to see a top specialist (expecting the worst). Before making it to Columbia U, but after days and days of tears, I decided to visit Bobby based on the positive reviews he was given on the web. Figured I had nothing to lose. I was a little concerned that I'd wind up getting stuck with a sales pitch for $2000 of hair treatments. Instead what I got was a diagnosis of my problem within 5 minutes of being in the room with Bobby! I was expecting a long, drawn out history of my problem - but he looked at my hair under a special magnifying camera - and told me immediately that I had no evidence of genetic based hair loss (my greatest fear) - AND - that he saw new, healthy hair growth throughout my scalp. Whew! I could have cried right then and there from happiness. Bobby went on to tell me that he knew exactly what caused it - and it was completely reversible - but that I'd done it to myself through lifting/bleaching my hair excessively. He even showed it to me on the camera so I could see for myself. I've been dying my hair professionally for years with no problem, but had recently tried to go blonder - and perhaps that was what triggered it (although my hair looked and felt great, apparently it wasn't). And instead of trying to sell me proprietary products to fix it, Bobby gave me a list of products to buy from local stores like Target and Sally Beauty that cost a total of $25 (I already had some of the vitamins he recommended at home). He looked in depth at my blood work and pointed out that I was low in ferritin, Vitamin D, and B-12 (low end of all ranges). He also recommended another supplement to help me with slightly elevated blood sugar levels. He also informed me that I was taking the wrong type of iron supplement (there's a more effective type called ferrous fumarate) and told me the correct thing to buy. There's much more to tell - but in a nutshell - I was absolutely floored. I'd spent 4 months of worry and tears, and in 5 minutes Bobby set me straight and told me I had nothing to worry about. I feel like I got my life back, and learned SO much in the process. This meeting with Bobby was yesterday - and today I tried one of the hair treatments he suggested and within one use my hair is SO much softer and the shedding appears to have tapered off.
