Visited Baltimore and was looking for something for lunch. The Halal Guys on Pratt street were open and decided to give them a try. Staff was very nice and answered all my questions regarding the menu. I'm relatively new to Mediterranean food and was pleasantly surprised at what the Halal Guys offered. I went with the regular Halal platter which comes with lettuce, tomatoes, rice and your choice of protein. I went with spicy chicken and did come with some great spice and heat. The platter was a very generous portion and could easily be shared. I did notice several food delivery services picking up orders, which is also a good sign of its popularity. Restaurant was clean and tables were wiped down frequently. The Halal Guys prices were very reasonable and would definitely come back. read more

I'd never been before and had a few questions. Ahmed was really patient. I really enjoyed my falafel rice bowl. I also appreciate the fact that Ahmed allowed me to put two small scoops of each type of hummus so I didn't have to choose just one! My only small complaint is that I asked if the white sauce was vegan. Turns out it does have egg. I only noticed by getting back to my hotel and seeing the packaging. My ownership for not check before leaving. I got the large 'platter' and it was a very generous portion! I have a hearty appetite and did finish it myself. Last night we went to the Convention Center in Baltimore to see a live podcast and after we were hungry. We spotted this restaurant while walking back to the Marriott at the waterfront so we decided to get carry out. My fiance has been to this restaurant in New York and loved it so she was excited to try the food. She got the beef platter with extra white sauce and a mint lemonade and I got a chicken gyro aka sandwich. The menu says sandwich but it's clearly a gyro. Anyways as soon as we got back to the hotel I demolished my food. It was filling and even though we got the food around 10pm it tastes fresh and flavorful. We ate our food so quick I had no time to take pics lol my apologies. Next time we in Baltimore we will stop by again for a late night grub session. read more

Great little restaurant when you want Halal Guys. This maybe my first time here. Get a regular or small bowl or a gyro. I went for the regular bowl even though pita bread is a fav. Got the chicken and beef gyro mix and it was delicious. So much flavor! It comes with rice, lettuce, tomatoes. There a few other free add ins like olives, onions. Got the mayo white sauce (extra) and the red sauce in packets since I can't handle the heat... The red sauce is fairly spicy so know this going in. The bowl comes with three pita wedges too. It was good. Mix everything up and the party begins. It was delicious. The dish was full of flavor. The lemonade machine was broken so that was a bummer. Fountain soda and bottled soda was available. Fountain soda had free refills. Definitely recommend! read more

Super excited to have The Halal Guys open up a restaurant nearby! I went to their Grand Opening today and waited in line with a long line of other people for them to open. I was given a menu when I got in the doors to help make ordering easier. I chose the regular combo platter which comes with both chicken & gyro. Watching the staff add the ingredients into the bowl, they skimp on the meat a bit as they add just what their serving cup holds. For the final touch, I got their white sauce and a side of the hot sauce. Since I had downloaded their app, I was also given a free side (chose baba ganoush) and drink when scanning my member barcode. Once I got home and was able to try my food, it was quite tasty. The ingredients were fresh and everything was cooked well. I definitely feel like there wasn't as much meat given as some other places might have as the sides dominated the bowl but it was still quite good. Restaurant found conveniently near the national aquarium. Small but comfy. Smelled great when we entered. Ordered the spiced sizzling sandwich and platter with falafel. The employee that worked on our meal was new but the follow-up employee (manager?) instructed him carefully and promptly got things in order. It took 4 mins for the falafel to be prepared. The sandwich was overflowing with lettuce and the chicken was little. The white and red sauce was not evenly spread through the sandwich. Ended with a sandwich that was mediocre and messy. Halal guys is an ok place to get Mediterranean food. I've never been the biggest fan but we had some Uber eats credit so wanted to get some since it was nearby. I always wondered why the tahini was extra & it's pretty watered down. Falafel is good but not much flavor anywhere else - wish they had better more flavorful sauces since I'm not a fan of the white sauce since it doesn't taste like much to me. read more

Love this place. It's in a weird location on Pratt Street with no parking, but it's worth taking the bus, hoofing it from Little Italy, or a creative parking solution. This is just like getting street meat from a tiny street cart, only with air conditioning and a Coke machine. They will customize your rice platter exactly how you want it - more rice, no tomatoes, etc. You can also have as much, or as little, white and red sauce squirted on top as you want. Be very wary of the red sauce, though. The nice man who helped me gently suggested I get two stripes instead of the four I ordered. My friend did not take that advice and got 8 stripes of red sauce. His bowl was so spicy he was breathing through his mouth and almost crying, but he couldn't stop because it tasted so good. read more

So I come here on lunch break. They have a 10.99 lunch special that I enjoy. They use beef, not lamb, for their gyro meat, and it's pretty good. The Rice is good, and they give good portions. I found the hot honey hummus to be good as well. read more

Walking through the inner harbor when I noticed a grand opening sign for the halal guys. As soon as I entered the door I was warmly greeted by the whole staff. I gotta say, this group of young people are all about customer service. My server recommended the falafel platter, it comes in in two sizes: small or large. If you order a large you can choose two proteins so I picked the falafel and the chicken. My bowl includes rice, flat bread, and and your choice of veggies the famous white sauce, tahini and the red sauce are drizzled on top. Warning, the red sauce is HOT. It's not spicy, but hot enough to overwhelm your taste buds. So if you are a heat seeker this sauce is awesome! If not, skip it or tell your server to only add a little. To finish up my bowl, you can add fresh hummus and baba ghanoush for an extra charge. To drink I ordered the passion fruit lemonade. Ambiance: Modern Menu with video clips of the food. I admire how clean the place was even at the end of the day. Note: There are only a few tables at this location, so at lunch you may have to carry out. Overall: I like everything in the bowl except the falafel. It was a little overcooked. But, the chicken with all of the sauces and the hummus is delicious. Definitely a fan of the red sauce. The food is just like the Halal carts in NYC, but with a nice clean restaurant to sit down in instead of on a city street. The owner was super friendly and fast. The red sauce is just the right level of spice and the portions were huge. It brought me right back to life in the Big Apple. read more

What a let down. I love Mediterranean food but for the price this place just doesn't cut it. Good location and friendly staff. But the food quality is not up to par. I picked up a chicken and beef gyro combo platter. Tasty but not quality. Also served with lots of white sauce. What is white sauce? I don't know. Ask the staff members and they don't know either. They also try to hide their special meat pricing on the menu so you don't realize the premium you would pay if you selected a seasonal meat. I went to Halal Guys and ordered a gyro sandwich for my friend and I to share. I kindly asked the man who was preparing my sandwich to cut it in half. He told another gentleman who was working the cash register and he told him not to cut it. I asked him why? and he said because the foil will get in the gyro. I told him that it is alright and I will not hold them liable. Then, I asked him if he can unravel it and cut it he said no. He asked me why I needed to cut it in an aggressive manner. I told him the situation and he told me to rip it. I asked for a plastic knife and refused. I tried to take a plastic knife adjacent to the counter and he lunged and grabbed towards me. The other employees working had to tell him to calm down because he began yelling at me. I swiftly left without the gyro. Being a young black woman, I was scared and felt threatened. We were excited for this and happened to be there for the opening today. They grilled the chicken on site which is a plus. We were honestly disappointed by the taste. I expected an explosion of flavors, shawarma and gyro freshly cut to order, but everything was rather industrial and bland: flavorless lettuce, unseasoned tomatoes and rice, uninspired pita wedges, barely seasoned anemic looking chicken that sat in the metal bowl too long. The needed extras that could have saved the day are all at extra cost (hummus, olives, etc) and then you get not enough for the portion size. Spice and flavor were a no show. The service was friendly but a little inefficient. We hoped for more. I think we are one and done unfortunately. read more

Underwhelming. Have been looking forward to them opening for months and months. I ordered a bowl with gyro meat and chicken. The meats has very little seasoning. Very few topping options. I love this place. I get the lamb bowl with the baba ganoush, olives, and chipotle hummus added and it does not disappoint. I just don't want the lamb option to go away lol but definitely check it out if you like platters.
