Just ok. Place looks great inside but food is just...bah. Nothing is well season or really tasty. I had the grilled lobster; it was alright. Came with three asparagus and bland potatoes. My boyfriend had the steak and it really wasn't that great either. Corn was grilled but tastless. The food did come fast. Service was ok. 12.5% service charge for all tables. We won't be here again. Miss it if you can.

I'm gonna give an overall review of 3 stars. The food taste is a 5 star. I had the T-bone steak with saffron rice. My wife had ribeye with mashed potatoes. They brought out a complimentary mushroom soup which she said was really good. Food options is a 3. They have steaks and seafood. Some chicken. No kids menu at all. The pictures on their website are deceptive. They don't have most of the food you see on their website pictures. The place is very different. They have tv walls. All four walls. The staff was very nice and friendly, and direct. I'm not an alcohol drinker but for those who are, they do not serve alcohol. I do highly recommend going for a great steak. My recommendation to the owners is to at least get some cheap chicken tenders for kids.

I took my wife, son, and nephew to The Halal Steakhouse for a nice lunch. We went shortly after opening, so we were the only customers there. The parking lot is nice and big, and the interior of the steakhouse is also large. The interior is...interesting. Everything is black, including the ceiling. The walls are screens that portray an aquarium scene. Even the tabletops are big screens. The ceilings have hologram fans with tacky designs. Since it was sunny outside, the contrast of the dark interior with sunshine through the windows was odd. Interior aside, it was a very nice lunch. The food was great as was the service. It is expensive, though, so this would only be a special occasion place for me. We ordered smoked beef brisket (1/2 lb) and lamb chops. Each entree included broccoli and baked potato by default, and we got to select another side for each one. We chose mac & cheese and corn elote. The beef brisket was tasty, but a tad on the dry side. The lamb chops were juicy and delicious. The broccoli was slightly overcooked, but the baked potatoes were excellent. They included butter and sour cream on the side for the potatoes, and bbq sauce and A1 steak sauce for the meats. The mac & cheese was surprisingly good, and corn was decent. Overall a very satisfying meal.

The Halal Steakhouse First time diners. It's a wonderful to have a Halal steakhouse in the suburbs. The restaurant is covered with projectors all over the walls. They were playing sporting events, wonderful scenery, and Bollywood music. We had the smash burger, spicy chicken, zinger, burger, the beef, Philly, cheesesteak, and beef brisket platter. All the entrées were delicious. All the burgers and wraps come with a side of your choice. However, the Smashburger and beef brisket were a little blend. A little more seasoning would greatly improve the entrées. The prices are very reasonable for a Halal steakhouse. The staff are kind and polite. Highly recommended.

Absolutely disgusting, don't ever ever go here the food taste like shit, the place inside looks like trash they try to make it look nice when it's not. They give your water bottles as your drink the service is really bad. And the floors are really dirty.

Ask the Community - The Halal Steakhouse

Do they have a kids menu, or items on the menu that are kid-friendly? For example, can the spicy mac n cheese be made not spicy for kids, and can the zaatar fries be substituted with regular fries?

You will have to ask the staff. All I can tell you is the more substitutions or recommendations you ask, the more they may not be accurate. Just from my experience.

The man working there was friendly and knowledgeable, and the restaurant was clean with plenty of open tables to choose from. My only suggestion for improvement is that I'd love to see additional paneer options for the lunch special- I would have absolutely ordered 2 different paneer entrees, but I had butter chicken for my second choice and it was also delicious! Tip: parking in DT Wheaton can be crazy sometimes. If you're planning to arrive here at a specific time, definitely give yourself extra time to find parking and walk.

The chicken saag was my favorite, but the butter chicken and malai kofta were also DELICIOUS. The chicken was super tender, and all the curries were so flavorful. It was also my first time having malai kofta, and the dumplings were so good. We got paratha, roti, and rice. The roti and paratha were both great. Rice was pretty standard. Finally, we got an order of kheer for dessert. It was very tasty! Sweetness levels were perfect. Every dish--except the salad--was spot on: authentic, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The chicken inferno was especially memorable, and the portions were generous. My only suggestion would be for the kachumbar salad to have more vibrant colors and fresher flavors--perhaps beets and carrots instead of the very chewy purple cabbage. I didn't try any of the cocktails, but I did have a glass of cava brut, which was served in a white wine glass and was a very generous pour. This place is truly a gem, and I hope they continue to keep the same recipes and portions because they've got something special here. We will definitely be back!

They have lunch specials, a happy hour, and tea (!) from 2-5, veg or non-veg options, which I'm definitely checking out. If you're vegetarian, items that can be made vegan are clearly marked, and there are more vegan items on the website than I saw on the menu, so I would ask. Most of the French touches appear to be on dishes with meat, though there are flatbreads and a spinach dip, and of course dessert; there is a lot more paneer on the menu than I'm used to, which might be a gesture towards the French love of cheese. Vegans would do best ordering the soya chaap or from the Accompaniments section, which includes classic Indian items (aloo gobi, dal). Overall there are about 8 vegetarian entrees / accompaniments, plus appetizer options. Restaurant serves wine, beer and cocktails in addition to the usual mango lassi, chai and soft drinks. We got a ginger mojito; mango lassi; the corn fritters; the fig/pistachio/paneer flatbread; garlic naan; rice; the soya chaap and a cardamom creme brulee. In general, food had a blend of spices but was mild, which makes sense given the French influence. The corn fritters were nicely spiced with good texture and a tasty sauce. The garlic naan is quite impressive with lots of herbs and garlic. Unless you love soy cutlets, I don't recommend the soya chaap (soy/wheat cutlets in coconut curry sauce); it's fine for what it is - the gravy was delicious and rich - but it's not for me. The flatbread was interesting; the pistachios didn't overwhelm at all but I would have liked more fig to stand up to the paneer. The spouse was impressed with the mojito; the lassi was OK but wasn't as fruity as I like. The cardamom creme brulee is served in a wide ramekin, maximizing the surface area of the sugar crust and making it easily sharable. Instead of permeating the cream, the cardamom seeds provided little bursts of flavor, which was nice but not what I expected. Service was a bit slow but solicitous - we were there on a quiet Sunday night. Copious parking; easy hours; I'll definitely check out the lunch specials and tea when I'm in the mood for local Indian food, heavy on the paneer.

IndoPak meaty cuisine lovers, don't sleep on BBQLand…read more Nestled off of Lake St, in the plaza with Caputo's, this new restaurant is teeming with potential. Inside is bright, spacious, and very clean. The owners are so nice. They genuinely wanted to know what we thought of each dish. They are happy to explain menu items and make recommendations if you ask. Taking a quick glance at their menu, I can see they have some good lunch specials. Burgers & wraps look like a decent deal, 2.99 more for a meal is not bad considering the food is not chain fast food. They have a nice spread of clay oven beef, lamb, prawns, salmon, and chicken. Nice appetizers, a few veg options, biryani, and entrees (I hate saying the word curries, wack). We went with some grilled platters. Everything on the platter was cooked to perfection, each item distinctly seasoned. Tandoori chicken was soft, which means marinated very well. The korma tasted like home..that is the biggest compliment you can get, and will likely be my go-to when hangriness short circuits my decision making capability. Nihari was perfect. Their butter chicken was good, not the sweet kind thankfully. The biryani was also great. Perfect, aromatic rice, meat was off the bone and well seasoned. Tandoori roti and tandoori naan were soft, not burnt, with that lovely clay oven aroma. The off menu special was dal gosht (meat and lentil), which I really liked. It was pleasantly mild and obviously slow cooked for a while, giving a nice comfort food vibe. Since the Tip section is no longer available on Yelp, a few FYI's. For entrees, it may take some time to prepare because everything is made to order, so break out candy crush or prepare some talking points to share with Ralph..if you decide to dine with Ralph. Their mango lassi is good, but because they use real mango vs pulp, it could be a little tart, based on the mango and the yogurt used. Always pre order charga (we did) because that is a specialty that takes time to prepare and marinate, whole deep fried chicken. BbqLand is a winner in my book. Give it a try. Who the h is Ralph.

Tables are best, tidy and the place is very clean. The Pakistani food is delicious, made fresh daily and they offer halal meat entrees. The menu has expanded quite a bit and offers dishes for every palette from non spicy to spicy both vegetarian and various meats. They had a huge catering order of over 50 Nihari containers that smelled and looked really good! (I'll have to try that next time too!). The Mediterranean Grill items provide hummus, salad and rice accompaniments! I ordered the boneless chicken breast shish kabab which had a generous amount of meat. We also ordered the chicken tikka which came with 4 pcs (2 leg quarters). All the meat had nice seasonings, flavor and were not overly spiced. We ordered 2 lacha paratha's to accompany all the chicken that were really tasty. Even though we were full, we couldn't stop eating the rest of the paratha's! The chai and kheer was spot on and not to be missed! We plan on returning on a weekend to try their puri halwa. The owners are very friendly and make sure you are fully satisfied and happy with your meals. It's a great place for real authentic Desi food!
