This is in the same location where Kolachi Tandoori Grill once was. The Halal Steakhouse is an interesting idea. Becoming immersed with wrap around aquariums and what not makes for an invigorating evening, plus steaks. You can upload pics and they will share in celebrating your occasion on the walls, which is cool. Happy greeters and servers. I have not tried the prime cuts of meat yet. I did try other items, however. Their nihari was legit. Their butter chicken was also very good, no sweetness thank goodness. Whenever I order chicken boti, I expect like 7 overly colored pieces with no seasoning. Their botis are large, many, marinated, and enough to feed 4 people. Biryani was pretty good and generous in quantity. Note, you will find "khade masale" (pieces of cinnamon stick, cardamom, whole cloves, etc) in it. Their fries, though listed as zaatar fries, were truffle fries, and daggone delicious. Knowing that frontier chicken is pretty bell-peppery, I ordered it anyway. It was raw bell peppery and just ok. Oh, the soup that is brought to you basically tastes like Campbell's vegetable soup with black pepper, I feel it isn't necessary. I liked the spice level, bravo for not taming the entrees. My summer solcai lemonade was just lemonade. The sunset blush and golden haze mocktails were yummy. For dessert, I loved my badam kheer. The rose petal garnish and almonds made it shine. Gulab jamun was hot and delicious. You get 3 fyi. The banana pudding cake slice is ginormous and if you like that flavor, you'll like the cake. You pay at the cashier. We were seen off very nicely. I like to start off saying the place inside looks amazing but that was about it. I made reservations for me and my fiance for her birthday I sent pictures in I did everything online like asked if me,when I walk in and let the staff know twice I made reservations,seem like that fell on deaf ears.Service was weak food wasn't nothing to talk about over all not really a good experience. Just ok. Place looks great inside but food is just...bah. Nothing is well season or really tasty. I had the grilled lobster; it was alright. Came with three asparagus and bland potatoes. My boyfriend had the steak and it really wasn't that great either. Corn was grilled but tastless. The food did come fast. Service was ok. 12.5% service charge for all tables. We won't be here again. I'm gonna give an overall review of 3 stars. The food taste is a 5 star. I had the T-bone steak with saffron rice. My wife had ribeye with mashed potatoes. They brought out a complimentary mushroom soup which she said was really good. Food options is a 3. They have steaks and seafood. Some chicken. No kids menu at all. The pictures on their website are deceptive. They don't have most of the food you see on their website pictures. The place is very different. They have tv walls. All four walls. The staff was very nice and friendly, and direct. I'm not an alcohol drinker but for those who are, they do not serve alcohol. I do highly recommend going for a great steak. My recommendation to the owners is to at least get some cheap chicken tenders for kids. read more

I took my wife, son, and nephew to The Halal Steakhouse for a nice lunch. We went shortly after opening, so we were the only customers there. The parking lot is nice and big, and the interior of the steakhouse is also large. The interior is...interesting. Everything is black, including the ceiling. The walls are screens that portray an aquarium scene. Even the tabletops are big screens. The ceilings have hologram fans with tacky designs. Since it was sunny outside, the contrast of the dark interior with sunshine through the windows was odd. Interior aside, it was a very nice lunch. The food was great as was the service. It is expensive, though, so this would only be a special occasion place for me. We ordered smoked beef brisket (1/2 lb) and lamb chops. Each entree included broccoli and baked potato by default, and we got to select another side for each one. We chose mac & cheese and corn elote. The beef brisket was tasty, but a tad on the dry side. The lamb chops were juicy and delicious. The broccoli was slightly overcooked, but the baked potatoes were excellent. They included butter and sour cream on the side for the potatoes, and bbq sauce and A1 steak sauce for the meats. The mac & cheese was surprisingly good, and corn was decent. A very different experience and certainly one worth experiencing again and again, a very advanced concept with relaxing contemporary videos on every single wall and every table. We ordered beef short rib, lamb short ribs, and arguably one of the best wood grilled salmon we've ever had. !!! the sides were quite lovely and don't forget to order the Dubai chocolate cake. The Halal Steakhouse First time diners. It's a wonderful to have a Halal steakhouse in the suburbs. The restaurant is covered with projectors all over the walls. They were playing sporting events, wonderful scenery, and Bollywood music. We had the smash burger, spicy chicken, zinger, burger, the beef, Philly, cheesesteak, and beef brisket platter. All the entrées were delicious. All the burgers and wraps come with a side of your choice. However, the Smashburger and beef brisket were a little blend. A little more seasoning would greatly improve the entrées. The prices are very reasonable for a Halal steakhouse. The staff are kind and polite. Highly recommended. read more

So I read the reviews and thought the people who have complained about undercooked meat shouldn't go to a steakhouse. I have my steaks medium to medium rare so of course I was going to try this place. Service was ok and the ambiance wasn't much to write home about.. let's say it's very unique. The steak was served on a sizzler and I caught two pieces that were icy cold. I paid the bill and explained to the head waiter that the texture of a steak that's cooked from frozen is different from one that's thawed to room temperature. I could tell it had been cooked from frozen His immediate reaction was defensive and I left it at that and pointed to the pieces that were very cold. The starter soup wasn't too bad. This place could thrive with some updates. The one star really boils down to the way the steak was prepared! read more

I really wanted to leave a positive review, but unfortunately my experience didn't allow me to. To start, the servers were very kind, but they didn't seem very knowledgeable about the meats. Our waitress described the top sirloin as "thin, juicy, and very easiest to cut and chew," while the filet mignon was downplayed as small and more of a kids' choice. Normally I order filet mignon to avoid toughness or excess fat, but based on her description, I went with the sirloin cooked medium. When it arrived, it was a thick cut, clearly overcooked, and nothing like what was described. I asked if the order was correct, and the waitress reassured me it was. Cutting into it was nearly impossible--it was dense and nowhere near medium. When I asked if I could have a replacement, instead of bringing a new steak, they cut mine up, reheated it, and returned it sizzling on the hot plate. At that point, it was well-done and even tougher, so I just ate what I could. The waitress didn't return to check on it afterward. Service overall was slow, the drinks tasted very artificial, and the pastries were disappointing. Considering we drove over an hour to eat here, it was frustrating to leave feeling let down. A few other notes: the restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived, yet they charged $3 per person to sit closer to the screens--which stayed empty the whole time, making the fee feel unnecessary. The atmosphere was also overwhelming: multiple screens on tables, walls, and even motion light-up ceiling fans all playing different things at once. For anyone sensitive to lights or visual clutter, this might be uncomfortable. Overall, while the staff was friendly, the food, service, and atmosphere didn't live up to expectations. read more

Great Food! Very disappointing experience. The place was empty on a Friday night which was a sign..went for our anniversary and I bought the Halal Experience. I sent pictures of me and my wife like they asked and when we got there the "experience" was a remote control to change the images on our table. Terrible. Not one picture of me and my wife were ever displayed. With it being our anniversary we were never acknowledged and n Amy way. The experience made the ambiance less than great. I did exactly what I was asked to do when I made the reservation. Sadly, you missed the mark and should just own that, apologize and make it right instead of making excuses. Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to the hype. The food and overall experience were disappointing, but what stood out even more was how management responds to criticism. Instead of addressing feedback professionally, the response was sarcastic and personal toward a customer, which says a lot about the establishment. It's also worth noting the large difference between review platforms. On Google, the rating appears much higher, but many of the reviews come from accounts with little to no review history. Yelp reviews tend to come from more established users and are generally harder to manipulate, which may explain the difference in ratings. For anyone researching before visiting, I recommend paying attention not only to the reviews themselves, but also to how a business responds to them.
