So, I've been to Nando's Peri Peri as well as Port of Peri Peri. This was my first time coming to Vasco's. Customer service was friendly although it could be improved. When I had a question, two of the employees just looked at me and the third came over. It can't be a language barrier since they're in Lombard. The second instance was when the employee asked if we could write a review, he kind of awkwardly stood by us, waiting for us to do it. I recommend just dropping off the QR code and let us review it privately. You'll have better ratings. Unfortunately, I'll have to take off a point for those two instances. For the food we ordered half chicken with sweet potato fries, far far, and mini platter. Mini platter came with half chicken, 3 wings, and peri mogo fries. I wished they had more combo meals like Nando's like chicken wings combo, half chicken combo, etc. Besides the mini platter combo, the sides can really add up if you didn't want the mini platter. The chicken itself was juicy and tender. The sweet potato fries were just okay. The peri mogo fries were mediocre. The far far reminded me of a saltier version of shrimp chips, it's good to take home and snack on it. Portion sizes were not super small like what some people said. Portions were sufficient if you have a side with your chicken. Prices were okay but could be better if they added more affordable combo meals for the average person. I have to take a point off for the fries and lack of combo meals. Overall, it's a 3 for me. read more

Very disappointing experience. The quality and service did not match the price at all. It's understandable why business seems slow when customers are served food like this. This is my 4th time at this restaurant, and the food never disappoints! I've always gotten the chicken and rice platter, and it's a really good amount of food. The chicken is tender and cooked perfectly. The sauces are definitely spicy, and I think the "hot" flavor is probably the best one. Very hot was a bit too spicy for me. Staff was friendly and inviting, especially when they found out if was our first time in. The restaurant was very clean, minimalistic in decor. It wasn't very big and didn't have a menu on the wall, only paper menus for you to look at. You order at the counter and someone brings the food and two bottles of sauce to your table. It was a chili sauce and a garlic sauce. Hubby said the chili sauce was good and we both liked the garlic sauce. They had a fountain drink station and a couple of fridges with other types of drinks. Fountain drinks were priced "per person" but not sure how they'd enforce that exactly. We went with the halloumi strips, 4 pc peri peri tenders, chicken samburai pita, garlic bread and a fountain drink. The food was very good. The halloumi strips were grilled cheese, the squeaky type of cheese that you buy in large square blocks and pan fry. It was hot and tasted as expected. The pieces we got were pretty small for what we paid, though. The 4 pc peri peri chicken tenders were thick cut, moist chicken tenders covered and plated on a bed of very flavorful lemon and herb sauce. The chicken samurai pita was very good, with fresh ingredients (lettuce, onion and tomato), the samurai sauce and moist chicken tenders. The garlic bread was ciabatta bread covered in a really delicious fresh garlic butter sauce with some salty seasoning that was really good. No idea what it was, but it was delicious. The bread was toasted perfectly, crunchy, fresh and hot. The bill wasn't cheap though, $40. Prices were a bit on the high side, but the food was really good. read more

Started with a few of their appetizers, the flame-grilled wings, these were juicy and the mild sauce was the perfect amount of heat for me. The samurai sauce threw in an extra punch of heat and tang. The halloumi chunky strips were not as salty as I would've wanted them to be, but the paneer hit the spot, and came dressed with chili sauce. The peri peri chicken that I tried was also prepared on a flame grill, and juicy chicken to say the least when most places tend to try their chicken out inadvertently when cooking on the grill. The samurai pita had a soft fluffy pita with a medium spiced samurai sauce and garlic sauce. I would say the flavor combinations in this dish were my favorite. The peri mojo fries were fat-cut and season wonderfully. The chicken tikka resembled the samurai pita but the chicken was prepared differently once again had that fluffy pita. for dessert, I had the brownie that was dense, and the NY style cheesecake was moist and delicately sweet. read more

The food was absolutely incredible. My family went in for lamb chops. The owner was great with my folks and sauce tasting. We ordered a salad, 2-bowls of rice, and the seasoned fries. With two objective seniors and myself everyone was impressed. We are lamb eaters. Two of us are Mediterranean's that cook chops and certainly judge them. We will be back there. read more

Worst customer service!!! It was our first time placing an online order here for 10 people. We placed an order at 8:15 pm last night and it said order will be ready in an hour. Around 9:50 pm driver was changed and then at 10:05 pm order was cancelled. We were so furious that we waited for 2 hrs for our food and they themselves cancelled the order. At 10 pm all restaurants close and we had no good food and just had some snacks. If you cannot fulfill any order cancel it in 30 mins and don't keep customers hanging until all restaurants close. This is super bad service and that's how you break trust and make them never order from that particular place. read more

I found Vasco's while searching for Mediterranean food near me. As we entered, my first impression was how impeccably clean the restaurant was. As we ordered, I looked into the kitchen and it was equally clean. Before ordering, we asked questions about the menu and the owner was responsive and made recommendations based on our responses and our tastes. Three of us ordered different things. All of us thought that the entre we that we ordered was very good. Portions were generous and we all had as much or more than we could eat. The staff was very welcoming and food was prepared and delivered to the table very quickly. The owner followed up during and after the meal to insure that we had everything that we needed and that we were happy with what we had received. There are many more items on the menu that I would like to try and I plan to make this a regular place for us. 5 STARS read more

I went to try the dynamite level spice for which I heard you needed to sign a waiver for. Turns out that's not always the case so you don't have to worry about that. The manager was very nice, very welcoming, very jovial and easy to talk to. He even gave us the sauce to try beforehand to see if we could handle the spice. We ordered the wings which were about three inches long but were packed with flavor. The meat was fresh, crispy, and complimented really well with the sauce. As far as the dynamite sauce itself went, if I had to compare it to other well-known flavors, I would say that if you can handle the entire packet of the black /original buldak sauce, you can handle this spice. The spice level is between the 2x spicy and the original flavor. It is slightly sweet, slightly sour much like how peri peri sauce is, but hotter and spicier. It does burn the lips and gives slight heartburn (at least for me), but it is enjoyable nonetheless. Give it a try if you're up for the challenge! read more
