Today, we saw the good reviews for K Grill. And they are spot on! K Grill is located inside Joon Boo supermarket's food court. Don't let "food court" deter you from trying any of these restaurants! K Grill has many bowls with spicey Pulled pork, chicken, beef short rib, or Korean bbq beef (bulgogi). I went with the pulled pork, and Galbi (short rib) platter that comes with salad, kimchi, and a choice of rice/kimchi/salad. My wife went with the bowl made with Bulgogi, mushrooms, zucchini, bean spouts , carrots, radish, and an egg. For dessert, we tried a mango ice cream from the shop next door (he owns both). The staff and owner are unbelievably nice and helpful. It made us feel really good supporting his business! The food was absolutely fantastic!!!! None of the meats were dried out and very flavorful. The spicy pork was spicy but definitely not too hot for sensitive people. The slightly salty, almost soy taste in the beef was absolutely perfect. You can taste the meat without it being overpowering. Overall the service and the food were worth 5 stars. If you are nearby.... Drop on in and give K Grill Korean a try!!! This place was great!! Came here with my wife, and kids ages 19 and 15 in August of 2025. First, this is a food court connected to a Korean grocery store. The food is great but the setting makes it best!! One of my kids had food from a different storefront. I will cover that one differently. I had the Bulgogi bowl with rice and all of the veggies plus a side of fries. It was really really good. My wife and other child split a Bulgogi platter and they loved it. Joong Boo Schaumburg now has a food court. Went in after a shopping trip to scope it out. Service is friendly and informative and it's nice to see an unrelated Asian face speaking accent free English at me. I'm so nosy... admittedly and I wanted to see how it was doing. Prices are on par with Mom and Pop divey restaurants if not more expensive and I feel it's not enticing me. Rather get the sit down experience if I'm paying $16+ an entree. Ambiance is a updated food court so meh. I would rather just get food at the deli or make it myself and save the $6-10 for counter service... but I'm a Korean not that into basic Korean like bulgogi. read more

We were excited to check out the new food court at Joong Boo Market in Schaumburg, and it does not disappoint. There are plenty of different food counters on offer, with your choice of baked goods, drinks, dessert, pho, katsu, dumplings, and assorted Korean entrees. I believe all but two of the counters have a touch screen where you place your order and pay. Then, you can find a seat at one of the many tables. They will text you (or buzz you) once your order is ready to pick up. My husband got the pork katsu curry from MiMi Katsu, which he loved. Meanwhile, I decided to give K Grill Korean BBQ a try. I knew I wanted to try the galbi (marinated beef short rib), but the meat platter was a bit pricy. I decided to get the galbi on a rice bowl instead, but once I added all of my toppings (along with 3 dumplings...) it cost at least as much as the platter would have. Which, makes this a good time to warn, just because this is a food court, don't think you will get out of here without a gut punch to the wallet! That said, the food was amazing! The meat was so flavorful and tender. As much as my husband was loving his katsu, he had to take a moment to commend my choice of food. We'll definitely be craving it again soon. I think next time I will just spring for the galbi meat platter to make sure we get even more of the good stuff. Which is not a knock against the rice bowl at all. It featured two sauces of your choice, and various vegetable accompaniments, which you can add or subtract as you please. It was like an elevated version of a Bibibop bowl (or, more accurately I guess, Bibibop is more like the Chipotle version of this). FYI, I am glad I asked about tap water at the counter, because while K Grill was able to give me a couple small cups of filtered water, it doesn't look like there is any water on tap for guests at the food court. So, make sure to get it when you pick up your food! read more

If you're at this food court, K grill is the place with classic Korean food. The other places are more niche dishes like dumplings, noodles etc. not to say they aren't good but you should definitely try this place first. My family ordered bibimbap which had more vegetable choices than what you usually would see I feel. Portions were good and the meat was generous and excellent. I ordered the cheesesteak and kimchi fries as pictured. I'm a big cheesesteak fan and this definitely didn't disappoint! I've never had a Korean bbq cheesesteak but it works! The only feedback I'd give is that mine was a bit more wet than I would've liked with the meat. I think a simple fix would've been to drain the meat a bit.
