Decent lunch spot downtown. Knowing that this place helps train kids and gives them real skills for the real world makes eating here feel like you're doing a good thing. They take a lot of pride in their food and creating familiar meals with unique twists. You can't beat the price point on items which is rare to see, especially in the downtown core. I ordered the BBQ Pork Banh Mi with a side of soup. It was very good and the portion size was aplenty. My husband ordered the Porcetta Sandwich with fries. Fries were a bit cold so that was disappointing but he enjoyed his sandwich enough. My sister ordered the scorched chicken caesar wrap. It was too spicy for her palate so she ended up only eating half - so beware if you are sensitive to spice. I also ordered a soy London Fog. It needed more vanilla syrup and didn't have that Early Grey punch I was looking for - so I likely wouldn't order this again. But overall, the space is beautiful and bright; the price is right and the concept works so I will be back if the opportunity arises.

I had a meeting in City Hall last week and afterwards, I met a colleague for lunch in The Hallway Café. It was really a pleasant place to meet. It's bright and sunny and has very nice seating that reminds me of outdoor picnic tables, but more comfortable. The menu is somewhat limited, but everything on it appears to be very tasty. I went with the soup of the day which was a maple roasted parsnip. It was rich, creamy and absolutely delicious. It was a cold day so it was the perfect warm-me-up. I also went with the Fire in the Hole sandwich, which is a jalapeno and cheddar scone stuffed with tomato, lettuce, pepper jack Havarti, a spicy homemade ketchup, pancetta and a sunny side up fried egg. It provided a nice assortment of textures and flavours, and was quite spicy - which I love! All this for just shy of $10 with tip. I'm definitely going to go back. Because the food was tasty, the environment friendly, but also because eating there supports a good cause. If you don't know, Kids in the Hall Bistro (The Hallway Café) employs young people at risk and helps them develop skills in cooking, service and restaurant management. It's a great concept, and one that I'm happy to support.

We would go back in a heartbeat, just need to sleep off the food coma for a while. It's bright and airy in spite of the smallish space and the amount of booths and tables, oh and you can sit at the counter. The walls and ceiling are covered in memorabilia, concert banners and what not. The place was absolutely hopping at 12:45 PM, but we were sat in a booth right away. Waters dropped moments later, asked if we needed coffee, tea or whatever else you wanted to drink. Our server was fantastic, explaining and educating us as we were first timers. The food came out piping hot very quickly and our tea ordered after the food was dropped came in a large teapot and hot just like at home. The clubhouse, which I did not have, has house made ham and turkey according to our server. My corn beef had slices of corn beef that did not taste house made, but the sheer volume of meat I couldn't finish, the eggs were cooked perfectly. K's Mexicasa omelette was excellent with the Mexican meat the star. I know why the place is consistently full, it's that good. Definite redo when back in West Edmonton

The corned beef has had mashed potatoes which is different from what I'm used to but it was tasty nonetheless. My husband substituted the pancakes in his meal for pan fried potatoes. The place was super busy even though it was around 2pm and was still packed when we left. They seated us quickly as we were willing to sit at a table but we could've waited for a booth. The servers were friendly and fast which was perfect for us as I needed to get to an appointment. It's a relatively small restaurant with many patrons. It's definitely got that old diner vibe which is always fun once in a while. If you're looking for a solid, traditional diner experience, you can't for wrong with Rockin' Robyn's.

Definitely 50 diner vibes. I loved it. Super fun. Our server was helpful and friendly. Although a little ditsy. Forgot our order after we made it. Forgot our drinks. But nice and super apologetic. We were there for breakfast, so we decided both on the steak and eggs. We both asked for the steak to be done medium rare. My hubby asked for eggs scrambled while I asked for them to be sunny side up. Food came out slowly which was odd because besides us there was only one other couple dining (The weather was nasty outside). Food was tasty. Our steaks were cooked to our liking, and the seasoning was great. My eggs were cooked well. They were probably the most beautiful eggs I have seen for awhile. The home made hashbrowns were fine, but not as good as other places I have been to. I expected better. All in all it was a good experience. The atmosphere was lovely. The food was good and reasonably priced. And our server was nice. Check it out.

I love their cinnamon buns but this time I did not order one. My friend and I came here for supper. It was delicous. I loved my Red Curry Laksa. It was fresh and rich. Loved the red coconut curry sauce. The seafood was a decent portion. My friend liked her falafal but it definately wasn't the best she has had and was eyeing up my curry. Service was OK. I feel like because we didn't order alcoholic beverages, we didn't get service as much as the tables that did. That won't prevent me from coming here again.

The decor is very nice - brick walls and posters, and hand written beer menu, to name a few. Service was very good, professional, and friendly!! Overall good experience, and will return again in the future.
