Johnny has successfully completed two smaller projects in my St. Paul condo. The first was installing a vanity, sink, and mirror in my bathroom. I purchased the items from Ikea and put them together beforehand, and he was able to install them in my cramped bathroom. The second was helping me pull out an old dishwasher that was trapped behind my flooring and kitchen counter. I was prepared to sacrifice the counter at that point (2 other contractors were unable to get it out), but Johnny got creative with his sawzall and was able to leave the counter intact! When he wasn't able to provide services for seamless gutters, he gave me the name and number of someone in the Spooner area who could. John came to install a ceiling fan and light combination. He was helpful and flexible when we were coming up with a schedule time. He notified me when he was delayed coming to my house. After struggling to find a handyman to work with me long distance via email, I was pleased when Johnny agreed to help. We needed work done on our house to get it ready for sale as well as landscaping around an extension to prevent pests from burrowing under and entering the house. Very high priced, $180 per hour and that is for anything he does. When we did not have the supplies needed, he started doing other unnecessary work to fill his day. It ended up costing over $4000 to install a backsplash in a small kitchen. It was not the greatest job and had to do some rework just to put the outlet covers back on. Make sure you know that the clock is going when he arrives, $15 for 5 minutes adds up! read more

I'm a fairly new home owner and I've been able to do most things myself. April's 15 1/2 inch snowfall in 2018 broke one of my downspouts and I was in a bind. I tried going up there to repair it myself, but I just don't have the level of expertise to properly fix it. I called around and Johnny was very prompt and professional when I gave him a call. I prepaid for my hour of service two weeks prior to the appointment (gutters were still frozen until this week). I felt a little bad because I texted him the day prior a couple times, only to find out he was on a ladder doing a job. Woops! But he didn't care and responded back ASAP and assured me he would be there. The day of the appointment, he let me know the project he was on was running a little long, but he was only by about 10 minutes late, big woop. Man, he can climb a ladder like none other! He got on the roof, saw the problem was more than just the downspout being disconnected, but the downspout had also bursted open on the back side of it plus the fasteners had been ripped off. He ran over to ACE, grabbed everything he needed, and went right back up there with a saw in hand. An hour and a half is all he needed. I'll try to upload a picture later, but I was extremely happy! Also John asked if I had any quick questions he could answer about the house. I asked about the side motion floodlights that hasn't been working. After calling numerous carpenters and handymen we finally found Johnny who was the only one willing to come out and repair our rotting window frames. After sending him photos of the job he gave us a very accurate estimate. While he was here we ended up finding another window frame with rot as well as asking him about a job I wanted done on our garage. He offered to stay and do those as well (likely saving us close to an hour of pay for multiple setup/clean ups). I had several items that needed repair. John had an extensive list of detailed questions regarding each action item during my initial call to set up an appointment. At first, I was wondering why the 20 questions but as he explained, this was all designed to save me money during his visit. When he came to my home, he went immediately to work because he had a game plan and instructions from our phone coversation. As he was "on the clock" when he stepped through my door, he was able to get straight to the tasks at hand. In addition, I surprised him with a couple additional tasks and he was absolutely ok with completing them that same day. His work was thorough, timely and well thought out. I needed to find a handyman who could complete some repairs to a three season porch on my mother's townhouse. It involved removing and replacing some rotted wood and it required a high ladder. Not a project I was going to tackle. Johnny was a pleasure to work with from beginning to end. Number one, he was great at communicating. His pricing was clear. I scheduled Johnny to come out and repair a couple of thresholds on doors going from my garage to the outside. As he promised in his email, he contacted me the day before to make sure that I was still on board. The next day, he was running 15 minutes late, but this wasn't an issue because he called to let me know. When he showed up, he got right to work because he recognizes that being on the clock doesn't mean you can stand around and gab. He was very conscious of making sure I was getting my money's worth. Also he showed me how I could fix one of the thresholds myself, which saved me considerable money. He did have to run up to the local hardware store to get some supplies (I knew that might happen ahead of time), and he did not disappoint on how long it took him. My brother and I have used The Handyman Can on four occasions now for several of our rental properties. The first visit was to repair a sagging awning on the side entrance of a rental property. Johnny came out the same day and within an hour the repair was completed. He was punctual, friendly and upfront with his pricing policy. The second occasion his crew sided a garage and installed gutters. The third occasion his crew replaced the roof of a garage at another property of ours and installed gutters on the house. We called around for several quotes and his was not the least expensive we received but not the most expensive either. Honestly, we just trust them and happy with the work done already. Johnny followed up with us on several occasions to make sure that we were satisfied with the work that was done. When an issue came up a couple days later with one of the drain gutters seeming to pull away from the house, he was there the next day to take care of the issue. This latest visit we had them enclose a crawl space, install a gutter drain spout and replace a deteriorating basement support beam.
