They seem to have some great specials throughout the week, we stopped in on a Tuesday and it was Koozie Tuesday! Buy a $5 koozie and you get $3 craft cans or domestic cans were maybe $1? Break even with two craft cans and it was a great time. Not crowded on a Tuesday but it didn't feel dead either. I also completely understand your concern and following state guidelines in terms of safety. The main issue I had was the overall tone and rudeness of the bartender. He was quite abrupt and annoyed the moment we walked in. There's surely ways to say the same thing (asking a guest to order at a specific spot for ex), but in a more friendly and open sort of way. There's a lot to be said about the art of communicating. I know bar tending is not easy (especially right now), but I also know dealing with people is #1 in the bar business and that part is a serious fail here. The Hannaford could easily pull from OTR in a heartbeat. It's no wonder why people who follow restaurant and food trends are focusing on Covington, especially with a bar like this. I literally had the best whiskey sour last night. The bar has a very trendy feel to it, but also welcoming. No long lines that you would be used to finding in OTR, and a very casual but upscale vibe. Stopped here on the Braxton Escape Room Pub Crawl and was pleasantly surprised. I don't get out of OTR/Hyde Park much but The Hannaford is definitely worth a trip down to Covington. Ordered the Anne Marie which was delicious and reasonably priced cocktail. Several other friends ordered from the varied 10-12 beer taps available. The ambience of this place is what really sealed the 5 star review for me- great decor, plenty of seating, bustling but not too loud. There was also a great patio area with lots of seating outside that would be nice to enjoy on a warm evening. Hope to return to The Hannaford soon! read more
