I can't say enough about Dr. Bajenova. She provides a thorough examination of the eyes and the staff are very pleasant.

I chose NW eye surgeons for my recent cataract surgery May 2026…read more My initial consultation and post-op follow up was at the Smokey Point Clinic in Arlington. The surgery itself was in Mt Vernon. The Smokey Point office has wonderful approachable staff. The exam process is similar to what you're already used to from the optometrist who referred you. There are technicians examining eyes. Your surgeon also will conduct some exams and interview you. At this point you will decide if surgery is for you, and if yes, choose your lenses. Your surgeon and staff will answer any questions you may have. By surgery day you'll be well prepared. Surgery itself only takes 15 min. However, there is prep, such as IV starting, connecting to monitor, mild sedation, that will add to that time. Surgery itself is not painful at all. You'll be leaving with a see through eye patch. Your clear vision will return as soon as the effect of the drops wear off that dilate your pupils. It likely will take several hours. You'll be home resting by then. You will go home with instructions and a dedicated emergency number to call should you need it. Your biggest challenge will be eye drop management. If you can, pay out of pocket for combination drops. (About $70). My surgeon was Dr Kuzin. He has picked a great team to work with. Dr Eden did my post-op exams. Throughout my treatment I felt well taken care of. My outcome is excellent. I suggest viewing some videos on cataract surgery and selection of lenses prior to your first appointment. You can find them on the NW Eye surgeons website or on YouTube. I'm a retired critical care nurse. I highly recommend Dr Kuzin and team!

I mulled it over for quite a while before deciding to leave a review. This will be long and…read morethorough, so I apologize for the read, but I felt the Doctors behavior was inexcusable. I came in to see Dr. Osgood about a month ago. I had been struggling with what I though was a cornea scratch/tear for about a week. I had gone to Indigo Urgent Care in Marysville and been given a standard bacterial antibiotic ointment. Unfortunately my eye got worse, not better. My eye was red, itchy and would constantly weep/cry. My vision was blurry and I was incredibly sensitive to light. It felt like I had sand coating the underside of my eyelids...it was terribly unpleasant! So I looked up Physicians in my network and made an appointment with Dr. Osgood. They were polite on the phone and able to get me in within a couple days. I came in for my appointment 15 minutes early to complete paperwork and waited patiently. I was taken back to an exam room and had a polite woman perform the initial work-up. She wasn't very friendly or personable, but was thorough. She left and I waited about 35 minutes while several staff members poked their heads in to let me know the doctor would be there soon and to apologize for the wait. When Dr. Osgood finally came in, he reached his hand out to shake my hand as I had to wipe a tear that had fallen from my eye. He immediately jerked his hand away with a visible cringe and stated "ohhh and you just touched your eye....". At this point I felt like I had been left out of a diagnosis discussion that had already been had and tried not to panic. He walked over, grabbed a huge bottle of lotion sanitizer and filled my palm with it. Then he proceeded to examine my eye. He found a dendrite and informed me I had eye herpes. I have never had a cold sore in my life (HPV-1). I am also 31 weeks pregnant and testing for genital herpes (HPV-2) is included since it is communicable during childbirth. That said, I was instantly terrified. I had no idea what this meant, but given how the doctor was behaving I was starting to panic. He told me that he was going to prescribe me a very expensive medication that he normally gives in conjunction with oral meds, but that I could not take seeing as I was pregnant. He didn't explain much else. I felt rushed out of there with more questions than I walked in with. He gave me a coupon that would hopefully save me some money on the prescription and told me to go wash my hands and we would set up a follow up appointment. He did not want me to use the sink in the practice and instead directed me to the bathroom in the building lobby. When I came back in, he was talking to the front desk staff and did not notice me behind him. He then walked back to the exam room I had been in (about 10' from the lobby) and proceeded to lament to the two female assistants about how they would need to sanitize everything, including the chair because I just couldn't stop touching my eye. The ladies laughed about it while he sighed. This entire exchange was audible from the front desk/lobby. He then came back to the front desk and in front of two other patients in the lobby asked them to locate the clipboard and equipment I had touched because everything needed to be sanitized. At this point I was crying. It was a horrible experience. I felt like a leper and the patients in the lobby were staring and alarmed as well. I ran out of there... I was exhausted, in pain, super pregnant and there were literally dozens of more considerate ways that could have been dealt with... Especially how he chose to handle it in front of other patients. I ended up having my follow up with Dr. Jones at Physicians Eye Clinic in Everett. This doctor knew why I was there, shook my hand without flinching and told me that this physicians behavior was completely unnecessary. He said that herpes itself hardly lasts long on dry surfaces and that even if I cried a tear into someone else's eye, over 95% of the population carries HPV-1 and it was extremely unlikely they would develop eye herpes even then. He said that this is a relatively rare presentation and usually happens to people whose immune systems are already compromised (which included me because I was pregnant). I had two more follow ups with him and the professionalism he and his staff displayed towards me were so very much appreciated. I felt like a human being with an unusual problem instead of a disgusting, diseased patient. It was after my experience there I decided to leave a review and report Dr. Osgood's behavior to my insurance company. It was a really scary diagnosis and I felt he could have handled that situation loads better. I will not return here and I would not recommend this practice to anyone looking for comprehensive and compassionate care.

What a difference it has made in the first eye. Dr. Osgood answered all my questions in a way which that was easy for me to understand. I highly recommend Dr. Osgood.

I am so happy I had upgraded lens replacement surgery on both eyes! I am writing this review…read morewithout my glasses, which makes me smile. Overall, a very good experience with NW eye. The surgeon is just delightful and I am still healing/getting used to my eyes (only been 1 week since the second eye) but I can tell already that this was a great decision for me. I'm only 62, but I had the beginning of cataracts (I am told this is very common at my age) and my vision was getting worse. I was so sick and tired of readers on-and-off, and it was a nuisance for teaching--had to perch glasses on the end of my nose. No more--I can read my lessons and talk to the students without any correction now. Upgraded lenses are expensive, but insurance paid for half of the total due to the cataracts, which are covered--I just had to pay for the special lens. My lesson learned to pass on is to get the second eye done as soon as comfortable. I think I had a harder time adjusting to and recovering from the first one because the upgraded lens are meant to work with each other. Once I had the second one done, the first felt instantly better. The second eye recovery was so much quicker! They tell me each eye is individual in how it recovers. OK--so why not 5 stars? I had to dock them one for the often frustrating lack of cohesion between the BHam clinic and the Mt. Vernon surgery center. I LOVE the way Mt. Vernon runs, and the staff are so nice and friendly. Not the same vibe in BHam. They are nice, but not as customer-service oriented. Just getting through to a human on the phone is a challenge, and you might get different versions/opinions from different doctors and staff in BHam. They all seem a little green. The call center doesn't always have accurate information. My only note about Mt. Vernon is that the discharge person is a bit abrupt and physically rough--which is a bit disconcerting when you are still a bit disorientated and feeling vulnerable right after surgery. (Both times so I know he wasn't just having a bad day).) It would be nice to have some of the more compassionate care you get before surgery. A last impression is just as important as a first one.

This will be long, but anyone considering this place should read it all…read more From the start, I had a wary feeling about this place. For one, it is chaotic. There are too many people that do only one job. Some seem to be call center people, some are schedulers, some are who knows what. Ok, fine. Except that you get different and conflicting information from the various people. *this is important* One of the assistants was quite brusque, annoyed and borderline rude. However, to be fair, another was great. I got a quote - printed out, mind you, for $2500 per eye for RLE. This seemed shockingly low and I even said so. The scheduler agreed but said it was apparently because it turned out that I had cataracts. Great. Let's do it. I get tentatively scheduled for the day but not the time. That appointment was one week out and the follow-up that same afternoon be cause it was going to be 4th of July weekend. Works for me as I am coming from 3 hours away. I had to call*three* times to finally nail down my appointment time for an appointment that was just now 3 days away. I book a hotel room since my surgery was in the morning. A hotel 1 mile away. During 2 of these phone calls, I was told I needed a driver for after the surgery. The 1st person said Uber was fine, the 2nd person said it wasn't and if I didn't have a driver, I needed a medical transport. A medical transport was $50 for the one mile I needed to go plus received poor reviews. I figured I would just go with my original plan for Uber since one of their employees said it was fine. I get there on the morning of my surgery and checked in. Now to make this long story short, they would not do the surgery because I did not have a driver other than Uber. I asked if it would be acceptable if I asked for a ride from someone in the waiting room. They agreed (and although I did ask everyone in the waiting room, the timing did not work out). But this just goes to show that their policy is a joke. Furthermore, hospitals allow patients to get rides with Uber after much more serious procedures. Finally, 2 days before my surgery, I was told that they made a mistake and my cost was actually $6000 per eye. That is a huge difference. One that many people would not have been able to swallow. I was initially angry at all the time and money I wasted for nothing, but now I feel like I dodged a bullet. Just read the other reviews.
