Popped in to Bad Axe at the last minute for a group outing and it was a pretty decent spot. My…read moregroup went around 7:30pm and it wasn't too crowded, so we were able to get assigned to a booth as soon as we walked in. Our instructor was pretty well informed and really good at throwing axes! So he was able to teach our group a lot of decent games to play while we were there. Only reason why I am keeping a star off my review is because I didn't really care for axe throwing at all (was my first time), the environment was more "quiet" then I expected it to be (thought it would be a more lively experience with music) and the price was a lot more expensive then I thought it would be. Overall, if you enjoy axe Throwing and want a Lowkey spot to do it at, this is your place. It wasn't really my speed, but I think if axe throwing is your ideal of a good time, this is a good spot.

Our instructor (whose name I sadly forgot!) was awesome -- full of energy, super patient with all of us first-timers, and made sure we were safe while still having tons of fun. His tips really helped us get the hang of it quickly! Beyond axe throwing, there are plenty of other fun games to enjoy -- giant Jenga, Connect Four, darts, and even an arcade game or two. Plus, there's a cute little bar area where you can grab a drink and snacks and hang out between turns. We got to throw 3 different types of hatchets and we paid extra to throw knives. Unlike some places, there is no alcohol served here. The staff was super friendly and gave us tips on how we could throw better. This was my third time going axe throwing, and I think my favorite experience thus far was at American Axes. My friends and I came here on the weekend to experience one of their escape rooms and had picked…read morethe shed. It was quite an experience and didn't expect it to be a spooky one until we got in it. The staff person assigned to us was helpful and made sure we didn't stray from the path and offered helpful clues so we were able to escape with 2-3 minutes left. Even though it is about $34 a person, it's definitely a lot of fun and you can tell they out in a lot of work for their escape rooms!
