Why not just call it chocolate syrup instead of a brand name Hazelnut flavored chocolate spread, which is absolutely nothing like the tasteless syrup that they offer? Whipped cream - had a really funky taste to it, which the server agreed with... Both of my kids asked me to remove it from theirs. $28 for two açai bowls that ended up getting thrown in the trash. The two stars is for the service as she replaced the toppings once I scraped off all of the whipped cream and chocolate syrup. I would have no reason to come here again and trust anything - plus, if that's how much just an açai bowl was then my money is better spent somewhere I know the product is going to be amazing. After filling out paperwork on my phone (a nice change from a regular doctor's office!) I asked Karen if she thought acupuncture would actually help. She explained that some things can only be treated with multiple visits, and that "we would have to try and see." I like that she didn't make any promises. For anxiety, she used needles in my ear and on my scalp. She also placed needles on my hand, feet, and legs (she said something about opening gateways - which I didn't understand). Amazingly enough, I suddenly found myself very peaceful and serene. I fell asleep on her table! She left the needles in for a while as I snored. After some time, she came back in and said that we would do fire cupping next for the back pain. By this point, I was putty in her healing hands - and much less skeptical. I flipped over to my back and the fire cupping began. Fire + small, round glass cups = suction cups moving up and down my back. Weird sensation - but strangely comforting. When she was finished, I got off the table and stood up. Almost no back pain! It was like I had taken a fist full of aspirin. I asked her if she was some sort of mystical healer type person. She laughed and said, "No, this is just how Chinese medicine works." She went on to explain that these results may only be temporary and that I would still have to work on the underlying issues which cause my anxiety and back pain. I was just happy to have some relief. I now know that Chinese medicine is legit and where to go if I need more help. I still think Karen is a mystical healer type person!
