I cannot recommend Root Acupuncture Clinic enough. I've been struggling with chronic jaw (TMJ) pain, and radiating neck tension for years. I saw the acupuncturist three times and did not feel any relief in my neck pain.. one of the visits he put needles in just my hand for my neck pain.. I understand there are different meridians but he nothing for my neck area and did not help at all. Neither the doctor nor the receptionist spoke very good English so I think a lot got lost in translation. Also, they take insurance but they have you pay ahead but then my Insurance paid them because my deductible had been met and I asked to be reimbursed. They reimbursed me and I thought I was only reimbursed for two of the visits so when I asked about the third, when I finally got the 3rd EOB and sent her photos and messages detailing what I had paid, she told me to STOP messaging her... I realized that it was included in the reimbursement, and since she told me not to message her anymore, I did not respond ..then she started blowing up my phone with messages.. read more

I've been here several times since my last post, so I figured I would update it. I'm not sure how, but my previous 5 star experiences from 9 months ago may have even been surpassed by my more recent sessions. I wish it were possible for me to give more than 5 stars, because they definitely deserve that. To be clear - I am someone who deals with severe depression, hip pain, nerve pain, and even some MS type symptoms because of a rare condition I have. I have been perpetually tired and in pain for at least a decade now. I have tried a lot of stuff, but this place has helped with those things like nothing else has. I don't feel perfect, but I feel better than I thought was possible in my position. Not only does the treatment help immensely, but like I said in my last post, the couple running this place is incredibly sweet and kind. I read the five star reviews and have been searching since my Accupuncture doc retired. Maybe I had high expectations but I have to say I just left this place and will not be back. The "consult" consisted of him telling me not to walk 3 miles a day and how to roll out of bed and maybe my house is dusty? He put a few needles in my sinus area and he said I might bruise. I've been getting Accupuncture for years and never bruised once. He didn't do any medical history and was so freaked out about the masks. And tried to upsell me on a hot rock therapy my insurance won't cover before he even touched me. So disappointed. Lesson learned. read more

Root Acupuncture Clinic is very nice, clean, and professional! I had pain in my shoulders, back, and right arm/hand that physical therapy and a chiropractor was not fully helping (they did help but I needed something else to help manage the pain). I was skeptical at first but heard great things about acupuncture and saw great reviews for this place too. I was blown away by how effective this acupuncture treatment was and Dr. Kim is so nice! After a few weeks: 1) my shoulders and back were no longer in pain or stiff. 2) My arm and hand stopped having the tingling feeling and cramping too. I had been dealing with this pain for years and it has been significantly reduced because of Root Acupuncture Clinic. (Dr. Kim was also able to tell that I was having stomach issues and has been helping me with that too). Dr. Kim's wife works the front and she is very nice as well. Overall, this place is wonderful! The office is very easy to work with and I was able to get an appointment quickly (they also ran my insurance before I arrived so I knew what my co-pay would be). I really like this doctor. He is an amazing physical therapist, truly gifted and intuitive, what he did to my spine I will never forget. It was something no one has previously figured out. Also, I always love Moxi. It is important to note that his style of acupuncture is KOREAN ACUPUNCTURE - HAND ACUPUNCTURE. It works. But it hurts if you are sensitive. For me, it is a bit much. I still prefer the needles not all concentrated in one place and so for me, the physical therapy is amazing, the doctor is kind, the Moxi is great and the acupuncture is tolerable. read more

I came to see the Doctor here for tennis elbow. I am a professional musician and a former Golf Teaching Pro who still likes to golf. When I came to see the Doctor I couldn't play my guitar any more than about ten minutes and Golf was completely out of the question. At my age (61), tennis elbow does not heal overnight. I knew this going in. From what I have read it can take anywhere from six months to TWO years to heal. YIKES! So going in I wasn't expecting a cure. But I was hoping.....hoping maybe I could play my guitars again. I saw the Doctor for about six treatments and all I can say is that I can play my guitars again. This morning I played two hours straight with very little to no pain at all. Golf? I think I'm going to wait a while before I try anything like that again. Hahahahaha. If you've had tennis elbow, you will know why I'm saying this. You see, I can live without golf. But I can't live without playing my guitars. If you ever have tennis elbow there's two things you want. You want It to go away and you want it to never come back again! I can play my guitars again. And when I went to see the Doctor for the first time I wasn't so sure I would ever be able to...and maybe even never again. That's how much pain it causes. The treatments were helpful, the staff is great. The office is clean. I always felt safe here ...especially from COVID. The Doctor actually cares. It isn't easy to find a Doctor like that these days. I played in a pretty cool band back in the 1980's and it turns out the Doctor remembered my band! No wonder the Doctor is so good....he also ROCKS!!! I initially came in with a Groupon deal and a friend's recommendation. I have been going weekly for just over a month now, receiving acupuncture treatment in my hands and moxa as well. One thing I'm being treated for is strong menstrual cramps and am happy to report that this month was a lot better for me. It is quite surprising to me that I felt pressure, but not the strong cramping that would usually take quite a toll on me. The doctor also made very gentle adjustments to my back, neck and legs which relived discomfort that I have been carrying for quite a while. The doctor and office assistant are both very kind, patient and gentle. The office is very clean. The tea at the end of your relaxing treatment is a nice touch. I had a problem with my back muscles, so I went to this clinic. The desk staff was really nice and friendly and explained about my insurance well. Dr. Kim put acupuncture on my back and gave me a very nice and effective massage. And he taught me how to stretch at home and what I have to careful. His treatment was very gentle and I could see that he genuinely cared for his patients. After being acupuncture for about 3 days, I recovered, and he told me that it was okay to stop coming. Very disappoined with this clinic. The acupuncturist administers a lot of chiropractic work as well as Korean hand acupuncture. He is not licensed to be chiropractor, and he messed up my wife with his rough techniques. She has actually gotten worse from their treatments here. We paid good money and did not get what we hoped for after numerous treatments. If we wanted a chiropractor, we would have gone to one. We'll stick to traditional chinese acupuncture as well from now on as well. Lesson learned, and money wasted here!!!! read more
