I haven't been around as much but it's really nice to know that there's still much life in there as it was when it first opened up and I spent so much time over there. A couple of months, I ran into Doug. He is definitely so wise with all that he knows in that shop and provide so much wisdom and knowledge with everything that he can share! So grateful for having quality conversations that are related to greater well-being and the wisdom that the shop has to offer with its diversity! As a tea store, I like the selection, but my disappointment comes from the Chinese herbal side. I have purchased several formulas from this business, and each time I'm disappointed. This last time I bought a formula in a tincture form that was almost too spicy to consume; I have been a licensed acupuncturist for 30 years and I'm very familiar with this formula (I travel here to see family and can't find anywhere else to get Chinese herbal formulas). This formula should not be spicy at all. I don't believe their formulations are well made. The tincture tasted like raw herbs (not a cooked formula) and was harsh and way out of balance to the point it had adverse effects. This makes me question the quality of the Chinese medicine they provide. It's also extremely overpriced. read more

Hidden Gem--SO lucky to have The Healing Tree in our community! Moe has been there for my family for years--when traditional medicine could not. Mo has been helping me over the years with a variety of ailments. I love this place! I discover it just last year in Dec. 2020 when I was looking for some loose left tea to give my mom for Christmas. Moe, the owner was so helpful in creating a special blend for my mom to help with her high blood pressure. While I was there I discovered their turmeric lattes, so good! They actually don't use any milk for the lattes but instead use coconut oil, that's what give it the creamy texture. (And I'm a person who don't like coconut, so that's saying something!) I've been going back at least twice a week for their lattes and also because the space itself feels healing to be in. I consider it my little sanctuary from my busy life. read more

The Healing Tree is a rare discovery. The shop is located in a random restaurant/shopping center in Thousand Oaks. The shop is small yet filled with tons of tea. Moe, the owner is the tea expert (his attitude and look reminds me of Chirrut Imwe - Donnie Yen's character in Rouge One). Most of the teas are certified organic and Oregon Tilth certified. He also mentioned that some of his teas are from biodynamic farms (biodynamic farming is the holy grail of how farms should operate sustainably)! The shop now offers group tea ceremony tastings - you try 3 types of teas for $5. THIS IS AWESOME! DO IT!
