The Hearth has my heart! For the past ten years, The Hearth has been a family-owned catering business. Just two months ago, they opened their first restaurant. We went on a Friday night during the busiest time, with a full dining room and lots of activity. Usually, when a restaurant is that busy, either the food or the service suffers. That wasn't the case here. Even with constant table changes and a busy staff, both the kitchen and the servers kept everything running smoothly. The whole experience felt thoughtful and genuinely welcoming, making us forget how busy it was. As soon as we walked in, the hostess greeted us warmly. She seated us, told us a little about The Hearth's story, explained the menu, and pointed out the specials. The space feels lively and comfortable. It's big enough for solo diners, date nights, or groups, but it never feels too empty or too hectic. Artisan-style pizza is the main attraction, but the menu offers much more. You'll find charcuterie boards, pastas, soups, salads, burgers, and sandwiches. There's also a Creation of the Month, weekday lunch specials, happy hour, monthly features, and game-day options. There are plenty of reasons to come back. We started with meaty buffalo wings and, to my delight, all drumsticks. The spice was mild, the chicken was juicy, and they didn't last long. I also tried the sourdough cheese bomb, which had a great cheese pull. The bread was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, and the balsamic drizzle added a nice tangy touch. For mains, we shared two 14" specialty pizzas. First up: The Hot Clutter, The Hearth's take on a buffalo chicken pizza. Built on a creamy white sauce and mozzarella blend, it's topped with grilled chicken, crispy bacon, crunchy fried onions, blue cheese crumbles, and finished with a drizzle of original buffalo sauce. This was a table favorite -- bold but not overwhelming, rich yet controlled, with layers of heat and creaminess that worked together rather than competing. We also tried the Margherita pizza, topped with fresh basil, sangria tomatoes, and a drizzle of extra-virgin olive oil. While simpler in composition, it was anything but basic. The small tomatoes delivered bursts of juiciness without compromising the integrity of the slice -- no soggy situations here. If you're someone who tends to skip Margherita pizzas in favor of something flashier, this one might change your mind. The pizza crust deserves special mention. It's light, airy, and clearly made with care. You can really taste the difference when the dough is handled well, and it shows in every bite of these pies. Even with unfinished slices still on the table, we made the wise decision to save room for dessert -- and I'm glad we did. Enter: The Cookie Lucy. Inspired by Minnesota's famous Juicy Lucy, this dessert is unique to The Hearth and was a real highlight. It's a chocolate chip cookie filled with cream cheese, baked in a small griddle, topped with homemade vanilla ice cream, and finished with a cranberry drizzle. The warm cookie and ice cream are a great combination, but the best part is the cream cheese filling. It keeps its texture and flavor without melting into the cookie. You really have to try this dessert to understand how good it is. The service was attentive and thoughtful the whole time, which was impressive considering how busy it was. Our server checked on us often, brought our food out hot, and clearly cared about our experience. The owner also stopped by to introduce himself, share some of their story, and talk about joining the community. It felt like a genuine, personal touch. By the end of the night, we were full, impressed, and already planning what to try next time. The Hearth offers excellent value, consistent quality, and genuine hospitality. It's definitely worth visiting more than once.

Can you guys tell I've been eating super healthy lately? after seeing endless Yelp reviews pop up basically in my backyard, we finally took a family trip to @thehearth_ep with all the nieces and nephews. the owner and management team were so friendly when we arrived and made sure our big crew had the perfect table. the menu hits all your classic bar-food favs, but with a little elevation thanks to their wood-fired pizza oven. my parents are notoriously hard to impress (especially in EP)... and even they were already planning their next visit. for food, the kids got their usual smorgasbord, and the adults went with the hot clucker (not that hot, but really good), a BYO pizza, and the Jamaican jerk dry rub wings. overall, the environment was great, the food was above average, prices fair, and portions generous. I'd definitely go back for casual bites! this is such a strong start for this new spot, and I hope they keep building momentum. only tiny notes: cocktails could use a little refining-- especially the espresso martini, and seriously... can we get some banana peppers as a topping option on the menu? PLEASE!!

Tried the new restaurant, The Hearth, in Eden Prairie, and left..... very thrilled to have a delicious new restaurant in our neighborhood. This location has struggled, we've seen 3 restaurants come and go, and all we have wished for was a great restaurant to come and stay, and we believe the Hearth has cracked the code We ordered a pizza and the Italian beef sandwich. The home made crust of the pizza was incredible, baked in a wood fired oven and cooked to perfection. Meanwhile the Italian beef sandwich had wonderfully tender meat that melted in your mouth. We sat at the bar, and the bartender mentioned this is the busiest it has ever been and so they were understaffed and so service was a bit slow, yet the bartender was still attentive. Overall I would tell anyone In the area that it's worth stopping by to support this local business

Clean and vibrant kitchen. They know what they are doing.

It has had several iterations and Heather's is the latest and arguably the most successful. I would not have thought to go here had friends not made the reservation (it is near their home) and I guess I would not go out of the way to go here again. Don't let that stop you. Very small parking lot, 2 people wanted my space and had me boxed in.

Granted, I grew up elsewhere, so my tastes were forged differently than most Minnesotans, but I have persisted on my quest for great RARE and thinly sliced roast beef for the last 40 plus years. In my opinion, only two places qualify as great: Wally's Roast Beef in Bloomington and Maverick's Real Roast Beef in Roseville. Morts in Golden Valley used to be good, but then it went downhill and closed in 2023. Wally's is a funny, little place. First of all, it's located inside the Southtown Office Park Building. Go to the back (south) side of the building, go inside the door and it's immediately on the right. It's only open for lunch and it's closed on Saturdays. You will find it off of 494 on Penn Avenue. Wally's does that 1950's vibe and they specialize not only in Roast Beef, but also ham, turkey and a variety of soups. They also have daily specials as well as Blue plate, Red plate, and Green plate specials. One is meat loaf, one is roast beef, and one is turkey. They explain which is which on their website, but not on their restaurant board, which is insane, but is one of their quirks. Most importantly, the food tastes home-made, is excellent in terms of quality and taste and the prices are reasonable. C'mon, what more do you want? They have good milkshakes and tasty fries too. I think this place is a gem and I highly recommend it.

While eating, I noticed a pile of pre-wrapped sandwiches sitting on the serving counter. I assume I was given one of those. The meat was tender, but more rare than I would have liked. Ordered the beef barley soup to go with it, it was nicely seasoned and not too salty. But beef in the soup was seriously lacking. Tried giving an independent shop a try, but this time they didn't make a hit.
