I know Sunset Grill a chain restaurant. It was my first time being in a Sunset Grill restaurant after living in Canada for 2 years. It felt like Denny's but Sunset Grill seems to only provide breakfast, brunch and lunch. The food was not bad. I think this kind of meal, e.g. eggs, bacon, potatoes, etc. is very basic and standardized so it's unlikely to fail. However, the environment of this particular branch was unpleasant. It was very hot inside. The restaurant was full. They're in good business so I believe there's no reason for them to cut the cost to not make the AC stronger. Also, the table, chair and high chair for kids were oily... To be honest, I felt a bit disappointed. Maybe I'll try another branch next time. In my honest opinion I would recommend just eating somewhere else. The food was underwhelming to say the least. I most enjoyed the blueberry pancake and that was more so to the fact of the real fruit use. Eggs had no seasoning, cheese was weirdly melted so it wasn't fully mixing into scrambled eggs with cheese. The hash potatoes, I just absolutely avoided after the first 2 bites. I just found a spot you're going to love. If you're in Toronto, you've got to try the Sunset Grill. Their peameal sandwich was highly recommended, and it totally lived up to the hype. I ordered the French toast and it was less appealing visually. Perhaps I'm too bougee, but this wasn't my greatest pick for something upscale. Sunset Grill offers all-day breakfast. They were founded in 1985 in the Beach, Toronto. They claim to be the first in Canada to serve all-day breakfast and have stayed the same operationally all these years. They claim to have many loyal customers. I went on a Tue at 11:40am and they were full. The wait wasn't long but all their tables were occupied. I've never been to a Sunset Grill before so I didn't know what to expect. I had their Sunset Pancakes ($7.25) on National Pancake Day. Every year on that day, their pancakes are $1 each and proceeds go to Canadian Cancer Society. What i didn't realize was that the Sunset Pancakes usually come with a stack of 3 pancakes. Granted, you can choose how many pancakes you wanted on a plate, so you can choose 1 or more. What surprised me is that everything else (toppings) are charged separately (e.g. $2.99 for fresh strawberries or $2.49 for real maple syrup). Or you can get 3 toppings for $4.99 so I got 3: fresh strawberries, real maple syrup, and chocolate chips. The chocolate chips are withing the batter. The real maple syrup came in a cute bottle (enough for 4-5 pancakes). They do bring you their imitation syrup (which is free). The service was good. read more

We ordered breakfast to go, so can't speak to the in-house service, but the employees we dealt with when placing the order and picking up the food were pleasant. When we picked it up it was crowded and had a line of people waiting outside (very popular location). The food was filling (more than enough portion wise), though I will say while my omelet was cooked great and tasted the same, my wife's scrambled eggs were very dry. I got take out on a Saturday during lunch time. Ritual told me the wait would be 10 minutes but it ended up being 15. The front was extremely busy, they had large crowds waiting in the entrance and though there were a lot of tables yesterday they did not seat everyone in the front. I ordered the original breakfast platter - scrambled eggs, sausage, half and half of potatoes and veggies. For $11, this platter did not meet my expectations at all. The eggs did not taste like eggs, they were very watered down and had zero flavour. The sausages and potatoes were extremely salty. The sausages also didn't taste like real meat - it was very chewy and had a rubbery taste to them. For my "half veggies", they gave me two sticks of vegetables. I've definitely experienced better breakfast plates with better taste. I did not enjoy that everything was either very bland or overly salty - it made it very difficult to eat. The only solace I have with this was the sourdough bread - there were two thick slices with some butter and there was also a generous portion of sausage. But, in general, the food did not taste good. Overall I did not enjoy eating this breakfast platter. It was too salty, and expensive for the quality of food that was provided. I won't be coming to this location anytime soon. read more

It's only available Mon-Fri at that price so if you want a quick and filling breakfast before work, Sunset Grill is where it's at. I went with the family to their branch in queen street Etobicoke and was chocked with the amount I have to pay as shown in the official bill .I ordered from their menu eggs on crab which comes with potatoes and asked the waitress if I can substitute the potatoes with salad she said yes.
