My appointment was on a day that the store was closed. My purses were taken at the door - I was not invited in to discuss which purses were wanted or the selling prices. I was not given an opportunity to withdraw the purses if I felt the selling prices were too low. I was never given an inventory of what they kept or the prices. Security isn't great - when I went to pickup the 3 purses that went unsold, only 2 were located - the third was apparently shoplifted. The owner was unsympathetic and unconcerned.

Days would go by and excuses given and we were told we COULD. Exchange the shirt and they would send us a label... now more days and silence. Just odd. So basically I gave them $180 and have nothing to show for it. They have since stopped returning any emails but it may be that it just takes them weeks to respond to emails. I love learning about culture and didn't want to interrupt as I walked around the store I noticed that iconic Buddhas with handwritten messages about what each figurine stood for. I only know about a couple of the Buddhas and good luck charms within the Japanese and Chinese culture but Tibetan culture is still new to me. Some of the items were a bit overpriced, but I believe for the value since they were imported, it wasn't too bad of a price. Plus, I love shopping at small businesses and I fell in love with some bracelets that look similar to an Nenju in Japanese culture, made out of turquoise and tigers eye. I know the healing qualities of both beads, and I bought two of the bracelets for my son and my best friend. As I asked the gentleman about the masks on the wall, he was delighted to tell me about his culture, and how there is a Buddhist tradition where people wear a larger version of the mask to ward off bad/evil spirits at different festivals throughout the year! I was able to share with him about the Japanese culture and how they have a festival in February where someone wears a red or blue mask of an OnI mask. He listened to my story and added more from his culture since he was from Tibet! I love to listening to his story, and he actually brought up a video of the cultural dance on his iPad! Yes, it's consignment so it's catch as catch can, but I can't remember the last time I went into either a thrift or consignment store and bought more than one item, if I bought anything at all. With Lola's it's a different story, I ended up putting items back because I was having too much fun, but didn't want to buy too many things -I only have a finite amount of space after all. I will definitely be back anytime I happen to be in the Fairfax area, which unfortunately is not that often.

This place has art which honors the monuments of San Francisco and the style of San Francisco on clothing. It is called Fleetwood. On a Summer stroll on Clement street I landed inside Fleetwood. Inside you will find hats and jewelry along with shirts and seaters with prints that represent San Francisco from the Richmond District to the Golden Gate Bridge to the Sunset Dunes. You will find posters with San Francisco related prints along with tote bags. Fleetwood is also an art gallery and also has screen printing workshops. This is a good place to shop for clothing that is artistic which has a connection to San Francisco. I am a certified Project Manager and licensed Mechanical Engineer, so I know what good project execution looks like. MKC is the best residential contractor I have worked with in my 30 years of home ownership. MKC employs a process with heavy emphasis on planning the work up front followed by quality execution by the craftsmen. Scott (owner of MKC) honestly strives to land each project with the highest quality work done at a reasonable price. My project was mainly to remodel a kitchen and master bathroom. Additionally, we removed two walls (one load bearing), replaced 1/2 the house windows, addressed two different legacy structural issues, replaced fireplace, all interior doors, all baseboard and trim, all flooring and about a dozen other upgrades (add ceiling fans, add additional door, replace garage door header, toilet in 2nd bath, etc.). Basically, I received a new house. The work was completed in a little over 4 months as planned adding time for the new scope and structural issues. The cost was as expected. MKC costs were nearly exact to expected. Material costs were higher than planned due to our selection of materials vs assumed. The quality of the work was outstanding whether it was by MKC employees or subcontractors. I highly recommend the MKC team for a kitchen or major home remodel.

I've never recommend contractors because we've been basically disappointed almost every time. They also worked with our budget and found us beautiful cabinets. They have a great sense of design and color and they are a family own business. I really recommend them. It was also nice to have someone understand our budget and try to help. I have PTSD from others doing bad, work or being lazily and unfair. I can honestly say it was a pleasure working with them. Of course we had normal problems that had nothing to do with them but they were patient and understanding. We Interviewed 4 different companies and no one was interested in us unless we could spend our life savings. If you need a kitchen and someone has a great sense of design, check out her in the kitchen. I feel like we got lucky.
