Amy and Bishlam have created such a lovely space... they're both so friendly and clearly passionate about what they do. I was panicked, looking for a special birthday gift and running out of time. The shops I usually rely on have fallen victim to COVID, with either permanent closure or reduced hours. Finding the lights on at Bella and warm smiles was a turning point. I was shopping for an individual near and dear to my heart who can be a little picky. I needed cool - without trying too hard. In recent years, I've leaned toward earrings and they have quite a few options - all designed and crafted by women, in the $28-48 range. They also have a lovely collection of masks to bring chic into 2021! (Not to mention all the fun clothing options I didn't let myself look at!) To top it all off, Stacey, the owner, took the time to introduce herself and patiently offered to gift wrap each item individually with plenty of tissue to make the unveiling that much more fun! Having gone from layoff to juggling three jobs in this last year, money is tight, and time is tighter, but the desire to celebrate loved ones is all the more important. Lots of cute clothes, jewelry, and gifts. There are three locations for this store; San Anselmo, Novato, and Strawberry. The fourth and newest one will be at Bon Air. They have Gigi silk T-shirt's in bright colors, Flog pants, BB Dakota Maxi dresses, and Lynn Tellrico eco handbags. They also have plenty of jewelry. I had a hard time deciding the jewelry was so fun and they had something for everyone. Prices were reasonable. I got a silver delicate necklace with a CZ pendant and some CZ hoop earrings. The owner likes to feature local artists and carries lots of unique items. I loved the smell of the candles and body scrub. This is the perfect place for a gift, a dress, or something special just for you. Kristina helped me decide on the jewelry. She was friendly and knowledgeable about everything in the store. My purchase was gift wrapped and I left with a smile on my face.

She was pushy to sell it to me and used a scarcity tactic that unfortunately I succumbed to that day, "this will sell fast and will not have another one." I liked the color and I wanted another cashmere piece in my collection so I purchased it but when I got home and put on my glasses to remove the tag I was shocked to discover that I've been fooled. One side of the tag read "100% viscose and the other side read cashmere touch". I paid $200 for an item that was not actually cashmere. I tried to return it the next day but owner told me no refunds, store credit only. I feel I was tricked and want to warn others to be careful when purchasing from this store.

Just a note ....each of the San Anselmo fashion stores carry differing lines so one is guaranteed not to see the same thing in every store. That is one of the things that makes fashion shopping in San Anselmo so unique. My daughter actually found a nearly new pair of Doc Martens that she loves. I did buy a new pair of pants, alas did not find anything else for me. The dresses range from about $85 and up. The brands ranged from all over, I noticed Missoni to Johnny Was to Free People. Service has always been friendly and helpful. When I'm in the area I always make a point to drop by, they higher the frequency, the higher the success.
