Absolutely adorable, so much to browse in a small store. Gifts at every turn and every inch of table. So pretty. Arrangements so well designed. Lots of fun stuff!

This shop is charming and unique. I love their thoughtfully curated selection of succulents, minerals, and other gift items. The owner and staff members are all very friendly and kind. The prices for plants are fair, and the plants are nice and healthy. If you're looking for one-of-a-kind, gorgeous gifts in Fairfax, I recommend checking out The Potting Shed.

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this shop! Each time I come here I feel like everything is so magical. I bought my first air plants here and when I bought it home that same day I felt like it was already growing. In the expand of 3-4 days in a row my baby plant was blooming so rapidly. I never seen a plant that grow so fast like this one. I'm definitely coming back to get up another magical air plants. This place surely is special. It's super duper cute as well! The person that works there is always super friendly and helpful.

I came across this gem simply by accident. I was in town for a conference and decided to explore and found this beautiful place along with other cute stores located in the same street. In fact this little city has quite a bit of Boutiques that are all walking distance and shop owners that are super nice! This particular place has a uniqueness that immediately draws you in, with the beautiful succulents, hanging terrariums, and whimsical ornate objects. Pretty much has cute things at every corner that a girl can get mesmerized in there. I didn't want to leave and lucky for me they even let you create your own terrariums so you can have fun and get creative here. This is a perfect place with a backyard setup to create terrariums or succulents with your kids, your girlfriends or someone special. Everyone there made me feel really welcome and put a big smile on my face. Perfect place to Destress & Unwind!

Darling little nursery I found in Fairfax. Located near the park, it's a beautiful spot to pick out some plants. They had a fun selection and I loved my purchases! The layout is hip and cool, it's a great place to check out~

I worked with Kathleen on 27 (yes 27!) succulent arrangements for my wedding. Kathleen was incredibly enthusiastic and excited to take on the challenge. She met my budget (which was very small compared to most wedding arrangement budgets) and exceeded my expectations! We provided the planters and she did the rest. She sent us a picture of what she had in mind, and it was spot on, so we let her run with it. The shop was able to take our payment over the phone, and we picked up the plants on the way to the venue; it could not have been easier or less stressful. We were able to offer the planters as gifts to our guests, and we BARELY snagged one before they were taken to their new homes. We've heard from numerous guests how much they love them! In addition to the arrangements, my husband found a small heart-shaped wreath made of driftwood and decorated with air plants in the shop during one of our visits. He envisioned it hanging from the arch during the ceremony, and it became a beautiful addition to our wedding, playing a very central role! Highly recommend stopping by this shop. Their doors are open and the staff is welcoming! It's nearly impossible not to walk away with a gift or a keepsake. Thank you to Kathleen and her team for making our Fairfax wedding beautiful and unique!

We stumbled upon this super cute plant and gift store! It was so much fun to poke around and we found a super healthy philodendron for only $16. A very down to earth shop with a super friendly owner. If you are ever in Fairfax be sure to stop in! Highly recommend!!

I had five keys made, and none of them worked. When I returned, Bob, the manager who made the keys, told me he could tell the original key was "a copy of a copy" and that he had doubts when he made them the first time. I did wonder at that point why the keys had been made in the first place if he had concerns they wouldn't work, or why I wasn't warned beforehand. However, he was friendly, seemed genuinely willing to help, and offered to try to fix them, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, the adjusted keys didn't work either. I went back a third time to return them for a refund. I had paid with a $50 Visa gift card, and Bob attempted to process the refund back to the card. He told me it went through. Later, when I tried to use the card for gas, it was declined because the funds had not been returned. Neither Bob nor I realized at the time that Visa gift cards cannot accept refunds. When I called about the missing refund, I spoke with Lexi. She was abrupt and rude throughout the conversation. She insisted the only option was a Fairfax Lumber store credit. I repeatedly explained that I had lived in Fairfax for six years and that this was my first time shopping there. I had specifically chosen Fairfax Lumber because I wanted to support a local business, but a store credit wasn't useful to me because I needed the money for actual expenses, not credit at a store I never use. I am on SSDI and live on a fixed income, so the difference between getting my money back and being stuck with store credit at a business I don't patronize actually matters. After going back and forth, during which she became increasingly condescending and told me things like, "Everyone knows you can't refund to a gift card," while listing other stores that supposedly follow the same policy, she finally agreed to refund me in cash. She added that they would "never do that for me again." The next day, I went to the store. Before I could speak with Lexi, Bob intercepted me and pulled me aside. He told me he had overheard how Lexi was speaking to me on the phone and didn't want me to have to deal with that. He asked me to come back when he wasn't busy and assured me he would personally take care of the situation. Unfortunately, I became very sick and couldn't return for about two weeks. I left a message during that time but never received a call back. Eventually, I called again, found out when Bob would be working, and returned to the store. On what was now my fifth trip regarding this issue, Bob said he couldn't remember all the details, which was understandable. However, instead of honoring what he had previously told me, he brought Lexi over. She immediately stated that Fairfax Lumber does not give cash refunds when a Visa gift card is used and that the only option was store credit. When I reminded her that she had already agreed to refund the money in cash, her response was, "I would never say that." At that point, Bob sided with her, saying, "Lexi knows more than I do. She's been here a long time." He then began getting an attitude and told me that this was simply how things were going to be handled. I responded that I knew exactly what I had been told and that if they weren't going to honor it, they should just give me the store credit and let me leave. The irony came at the very end. Lexi handed me a Fairfax Lumber gift card and then slid over an envelope containing extra change because, according to her, that portion couldn't be put on the card. Apparently, cash refunds are possible when it works for them. The way this entire situation was handled was unprofessional, rude, and, after five separate trips, a complete waste of my time. The issue was never just the amount of money. The issue was being sold keys that didn't work, being told one thing and then something completely different later, having an employee acknowledge that I had been treated poorly, promise to make it right, and then completely reverse course. When you're living on a fixed income, being forced into store credit you can't use isn't a minor inconvenience--it's real money. If anyone wants a Fairfax Lumber gift card with about $49 on it, let me know. I won't be setting foot in that store again.

Their inventory is dominated by your typical cultivars of philodendrons, anthuriums, pothos, etc. Most of these plants are widely available at garden centers and other plant stores. Even the carnivorous plants and staghorn fern they had are varieties I've commonly seen elsewhere. They also carry spray painted tillandsias, a practice I dislike because it obscures the plant's natural appearance and is something I generally associate with novelty retail rather than horticulture. I visited hoping to find some unique specimens, such as uncommon orchids, metallic leaved begonias, rocklike pseudolithos, or other harder to find collector plants. Casual indoor plant owners would probably find this store adequate, but I'd recommend those looking specifically for rare or unusual plants to skip this place. Update: Soon after writing this review I got a very emotionally charged message from the owner who mentioned that my review is a "public dig" and asked "Is it your goal to damage a women owned and run small business?". It leaves a bad taste in my mouth when I leave an honest respectful review (all I did was highlight who this store would be good for!) and I get a response like that. Especially ending in her saying "I hope you have a better day than I now will have". It's all very unprofessional.
