A good trucked parked at the corner of Glenstone and Florida in a parking lot next to the train tracks ran by a husband and wife straight from the Jamaica. They took my order right away and let me enjoy a ginger beer while the magic happened inside. The curry chicken dinner player came with steamed cabbage accented with some bell peppers and a side of rice. By all accounts, this was probably too much food but for the price it was an absolute bargain! This plate was loaded with so much flavor I forgot that I was sitting in the corner of a parking lot. With the palm trees swaying to my side and the sun shining, I was transported to the island myself! The amount of options on the menu is enough to make any customer happy. Came here over lunch with some work friends. It was super busy with customers, but unfortunately not very many workers at the truck. I ordered the jerk chicken meal, fried plantains and a Snapple (when was the last time I had a Snapple? I couldn't remember.) The food took a while to come out which was unfortunate because we were starting to get late back to the office. When I got to the office, I sat down to eat. The jerk chicken was okay. I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but that wasn't it. The flavors were very unique and the sauce was not my favorite. The chicken was warm and well cooked. Portion size was good for the price I paid. The cabbage and carrots were okay. The rice and beans were pretty good. Fried plantains seemed too salty for me, and I remembered I don't really like plantains. Oh well. I wanted to be authentic and was somewhat disappointed. Brought our food right to our car! - The jerk chicken sandwich comes with pickle spears, some type of sauce/spread, and a bag of chips. Rasta pasta came with 2 slices of toast. Very little to no flavor. The cabbage was bland. They could've at least added salt, pepper and hot sauce. I ordered door dash and my plantains were not included as I ordered. I was excited for some ox tail. It's been forever since I had them. Was disappointed. I do give credit for the way the chicken and oxtail were cooked tho. It was soft and easy to pull apart.
