The Food was amazing! Mama G greeted us (first time visitors) with a hug. I got the catfish taco's, pictured below. My son got the wings and said they may be the best he's ever had! Food was quick, delicious, and a great price. Would go back and would 100% recommend.

My daughter wanted to try Mama G's for dinner so off we went. It's street parking and there's a free parking lot not far from the restaurant. The dining room is large and there's are 2 different sections. The location receives a ton of natural light which is wonderful. There is definitely a home cooking, soul food vibe with greens, sweet potatoes, spicy cabbage and cornbread on the menu. Between our party of 4 we had all of that. My mom tried the Get Right burger which she enjoyed. Me, my daughter and granddaughter selected fish which was very good. And me and my mom were pleased that both sweet and unsweetened tea are on the menu. The menu is wonderful and so was the service. Thank you Mama G's!

This restaurant right here is a Gem . The owner is a sweet talkative gem . She came to our table and chatted with us . Our waiter Maki was the greatest and very knowledgeable about the food as well . Maki was very helpful and talkative as well. He was very funny and engaging as well . The collard green queso was delicious and the soul power was tasty as well it could have had a bit more of alcohol punch to it but hey I liked it nevertheless. When I come back I will definitely be returning.

Got the fried crawfish balls. Fried chicken wing dinner with spicy cabbage and fries with cornbread. Hubby got the salsberry steak meal with mashed potatoes and green beans and everything was amazing! We will be back for sure to try more menu items and drinks!! The service was very, very friendly and almost felt like family lol and the ambiance was nice. Amazing soul food

Came here looking for Black owned restaurants in SPFLD and saw one was open for breakfast. Stopped in an it was . The grits weren't watery and runny - they actually made them the southern way with broth. The scrambled eggs weren't diluted with milk. The chicken fried chicken was actually seasoned. I've been so disappointed in the Springfield food scene but this was the first place that I actually enjoyed the food. The vibes were cool too. They had a Mo Town music thing going on, the service was very friendly and on point. If you ain't tried their breakfast get out here and do yourself a favor

I stopped by today to kill time and have some breakfast while waiting on some local businesses to open. I decided to keep it simple and get the ham and cheese omelet. They exceeded my expectations. The toast was fresh and well buttered, the hash browns cooked to just a little bit of a crunch, and the omelette was packed full of flavor and ham. There's not many places you can get a full meal for less than $10. I may have to make this a more frequent stop.

On our first visit, it took a while to be greeted and it took forever to receive our food. I think we were there for two hours altogether on our first trip and we did not think that we would be returning. Fast-forward a few months and we came here because it was one of the few places open that had down home cooking, which we were wanting. I'm so glad we came again because it was such a great experience and we've gone again a handful of times since. I've had a few things here, but my favorites are their burgers, hand cut fries, the fried zucchini, and the lemon meringue pie. All of them are delicious. They also make a mean club sandwich, although sometimes they forget to cut it in quarters and just cut it in half. Not a big deal, but I personally prefer mine in quarters. The staff are friendly for the most part. There is one lady who I assume is the manager, who is almost always being rude to someone, whether it be her own staff or the customers. She always has something grouchy and negative to say, or she's belittling her staff in front of everyone. I personally would hate to work for someone like that. Hopefully she will have some joy in her life so she can turn things around. We can always tell when we get her on the phone for our call-in orders because she is the only one who is grumpy about having to type in the fact that we want to make a substitution for a burger topping. It's kind of sad that she stands out in this way, but that does not make it any less true. Anyway, the tables could use a bit of cleaning, especially the ones nearest the wall where there is dirt and dust. Aside from that, I really have no complaints about Rosie Jo's. It is one of our favorite places to eat in Ozark and we will definitely be back.

Pro tip: please check their facebook page for updated hours, contact information, and menu of the day. I stopped by to place a carry out order. The team was so welcoming and friendly. That perfect sincere hospitality you don't see too much anymore. The space is absolutely adorable and comfortable. When my order was ready, I was handed a bag that easily weighed five pounds! I went with the blackberry fried chicken. This is like nothing I've ever had. The chicken was super crispy like Korean fried chicken and just covered in a sweet sticky blackberry sauce. The chicken was well seasoned and juicy. Every single bite was perfect. I went with the macaroni and cheese and greens for my sides. Both came served in generous portions of deliciousness. The greens might be a little spicy if you don't like heat. My order came with two cornbread muffins. The meal was a very generous and a filling one. I also picked a slice of peach cobbler cheesecake from the dessert case. While tasty, I would have preferred one or the other. Both cheesecake and cobbler in one dessert was just a little too much for me. But delicious nonetheless. I can see why this spot comes with such great accolades for food service and hospitality.

This truly is a hidden gem in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri!! We went to visit my daughter for family…read moreday and graduation from basic training and all of the drill sergeants raved about how this was the best soul food restaurant in town. They didn't lie. Not only was the food amazing, but the service was also impeccable. The waitress was so nice, and she gave us history on the restaurant and her family. There were pictures of her family on the walls, and they even had a tree branch with wooden portraits of family members (family tree). It was so cool!! The food was so good!! We had the chicken wings, greens, mac and cheese, yams, and catfish. The portion sizes were huge, so we had food to go. A person in our party had the red beans and rice and fried corn and she said the red beans and rice was some of the best she has ever had, and the sauce on the fried corn was good. The cook's husband came out and talked to us at the end of our meal and gave us some background on how he was also in the military, retired and is now working at the restaurant with his wife along with his government job. Everybody was just so nice and welcoming, and it definitely was a great experience. The prices for the food was very affordable considering the portion sizes. We have to go back in January for her next graduation. We will definitely be going back to eat there. I can taste it already!!
