A friend recommended this place to me and I was very eager to tried it for awhile now. I finally came last night with my daughter and was excited to eat some seafood. The inside the restaurant was very cute and lively. The staff was great, they all greeted you couple of times. Got sat down and was ready!!!! I order some soup and appetizers. We got seafood Gumbo and calamari and fries. The soup was very nicely marinated and not watery, perfect!! Fried calamari was good too. So there were too many options with the seafood and I was a bit confused when reading the menu, luckily Kristina told me about some special they have off menu. I told her I want some snowcrab, Argentina shrimps and some crawfishs she got me like a special for $47 with all the above plus corns, egg, sausages and potatoes. I got the everything sauce and med spice. Let me tell you, it was so freaking bomb. The sauce hit the spot. Savory and spicy. The crablegs and shrimps was sooooooo good. We were really pleased with this place. It was a Monday evening, so the special was 1 lb of Argentina shrimp, with 1 corn and two potatoes. $20. We used that and added to it and got a "you pick" boil, selected Alaskan snow crab, and add ons of corn, eggs, and sausage. Grilled bread for dipping. It was plenty of food for the 3 of us and it was delicious- probably the best we've had. Their house seasoning was perfect we thought, and not too spicy but they can spice it up if you'd like. Also tried the fried calamari and okra basket, it too was really good fresh, hadn't been frozen, hand breaded, but the boil really stole the show. Plenty of everything left over to take home. Waited for 40 minutes for my to go order (seafood boil with all sides) then they brought my order out finally and it was the wrong order, so I had to wait another 10 minutes, I got the boil in bag, sauce was dark so I just see some shrimp and corn and call it good. I get home and realized I paid $35 and they still forget the sausage , so I all I got was potato's shrimp and corn , did not even fill me up , although the taste was great , they seem very forgetful and a bit slow, very disappointed to be missing the sausage as it's one of my favorite parts, I travel a lot here for work so I think Krab kings will be my next option not sure if this place is worth it read more

When we parked, we considered not even going in. The exterior was not what we expected but we decided to give it a try anyway. The food was absolutely phenomenal. We have ate and cooked a lot of Cajan food and this place was top notch for freshness and flavor. The gumbo had a dark roux and tons of fresh vegetables and meat. The po'boys were outstanding, loaded with meat, and the French bread was super good. My husband loves crawfish etoufee and it was some of the best he's had, even in Louisiana. The service was also wonderful. Don't sleep on this place. It is for sure a hidden gem, packed into a tiny location but totally worth it!! read more

These types of places have started popping up in our town lately. Places like Sam's southern eatery, Krab Kings, and Storming Crab... Most of their items seem to come from the gulf, and prices vary on what they have available and season. Servers are friendly and very knowledgeable about the food they offer. The place kinda has a bar feel with tables covered in paper so you don't make a mess. What I did think was a nice touch was the sinks located on the back wall so you didn't have to visit the restrooms... We just got basic baskets; I got catfish and the wife shrimp. I was warned that catfish was strong "which is fine" it's real catfish, and the wife's fried shrimp was pretty good. Just nothing amazing. I wasn't a huge fan of their breading or signature sauce. I might try them again and maybe do a pot but as for baskets I think Storming Crab is the best in town. read more

Overall, a disappointing meal. Ambiance: After being seated, it felt as if the air conditioning was on yet it was cold outside. When we asked our server, it was explained that they keep it cool for the kitchen crew. Ultimately, they were able to turn off the air so it wasn't *quite* so cold. Menu: The menus were old and worn making it very difficult to read. Additionally, the chalkboard walls had menu items as well--we had to leave the table to read the walls. While reading the walls, we noticed a message that menu prices have been raised. We laughed at the chalk drawing of the blue crab with a note that said, "We don't serve these here." Food: The hush puppies were gummy in the middle; the Gator Fried Rice was extremely spicy with small gator bites that seemed to be cooked separately; in the Krackin basket (which came out 10 minutes after other entrees) we were unable to distinguish between the small pieces of crawfish and gator--the shrimp were fine, not great. Service: Our server was very eager to do a good job. Our drinks were refilled when they were within an inch from the top, our check was dropped off immediately after receiving our food and the meal we ordered to-go for a friend was delivered before we were ready to leave. While we were told "no rush" our server swept intensely all around us as if they were preparing to close, yet it was only 7pm when we left the restaurant and the noted closing time was 8:30. Value: We felt the quality of the food and overall experience was not up to par for their prices. Our meal for four people was $76 before tip! Honestly, the quality of the food is better at Captain D's or Popeyes. Unfortunately, I did not take any photos--I suppose I didn't intend to leave a review but felt it was important to share our experience as we regret our decision to eat here. read more

We stopped in here after seeing a movie. I ordered the gator fried rice and my husband ordered the étouffée. The étouffée was okay. It was in need of salt and hot sauce. Once we added those to the étouffée it was better. My gator fried rice was tasty but I will be honest I'm sure if it was gator or just little chicken bites. They taste basically the same. We had a little trouble with our order that resulted in a delay in my fried rice and confusion but the staff sorted it out. Placed an order online just to have them cancel the order.so I call up there and talk to the lady who answers the phone she tells me she canceled it because they were busy but she'll place the order now. Yes I placed an order and apparently yall canceled it...ahh yes it's just were so backed up. 3 of the 8 tables get up and leave. I stand there and wait for 15 min then a family gets seated and their order taken before anyone retakes the order that they canceled. When she finally decides to help me she says well if your money was already returned we can take your order but you'll have to repay for it. Again we were just so busy and then I said yeah 8 tables so busy she proceeds to tell me well I don't have to take your order and proceeds to help the person behind me. Just finished an early dinner with family tonight. We were seated promptly and pitched on the two most expensive "family feasts" by the waitress before our fannies even hit the seats at our butcher-paper covered table. Our waitress may have well been new. Though friendly and particularly exuberant, she failed to bring us silverware & waters before our meals despite several requests. In fact, she served my appetizer of raw oysters on the half shell without any utensils which I ended up sourcing from the waitress station. I guess she expected me to slurp them from the shell ala New Orleans style but they weren't even loosened with an oyster knife. While flavorful, they were inconsistent in size. Highlighted as "Alabama Oysters", I should have known better... We had both the calamari & gator appetizers: The gator was tasty but the calamari relatively poor, all meat taken from the hood of the squid. Two of us had the special three seafood baskets (fried shrimp, crawfish & gator), one had the fried shrimp, the child had the adult chicken tender basket. The sides chosen were fried okra, fried pickles and sweet potato fries. The shrimp were exceptional, plump with a perfect light batter - some of the best I've tasted anywhere, domestic or foreign. The gator was decently prepared - smallish bits yet flavorful, and the crawfish good but could have been superior with the shrimp's lighter batter. The okra & pickles were very good while the chicken tenders and sweet potato fries merely decent. In all fairness, the child downgraded the tenders seasoning to mild-plain. Suffice it to say, the service was abysmal. We waited incessantly for our check and finally walked to the counter to inquire. Upon departure, we saw our waitress outside smoking a butt, taking a break at peak dinner time. We would return as a testimony to the comparatively superior, local Cajun seafood I've experienced. Having spent several years in New Orleans, Krackin is vaguely authentic without quite the sophistication but certainly viable and worth the trip...unless you're headed to the Big Easy soon! read more

Stopped here after my gf and I got a random hankering for some spicy seafood. We came here for lunch and were greeted by the friendly staff. They were all very helpful and welcoming. The setting was clean, organized, and interesting. The food was delicious and exactly what we had in mind. Their Buffalo sauce and Cajun seasoning was delicious. Absolutely had a great time with my family. We went on a Sunday and there was no wait. Our server was so great and she was helpful with recommendations. We ended up going with the Seafood Fest Plus. Before that we ordered some gator bites and the garlic bread. The gator bites were delicious and came with 3 types of dipping sauces. The bread was a perfect compliment with a butter dip. Once our seafood boil came out, it was the king of the meal. Everything from the corn, the crab, the mussels, the shrimp, and even the sausage was outstanding! As someone from Louisiana I'm going to be very critical. I'll start with the good- Waite staff was friendly, restaurant was very cute, serving sizes were good, service was quick, and gumbo was fairly good. The gumbo is thickened with okra (a valid choice) but it makes it a little slimy but also they used yellow bell pepper instead of green which is not a louisiana practice but it had good flavor. The bad- the seafood in the bag thing is just so incredibly super very bland. I had the crawfish with their house seasoning and it had absolutely no flavor in the flesh of the crawfish. Went to suck that first head and no flavor at all. The tails also had no flavor, the only hope was dragging the tail meat through the oil and seasoning. My buddy had the snow crab which was a little more flavorful but not much. This seafood needs to be cooked water with seasonings not in some bag and tossed in oil. The cook was also very inconsistent, some were cooked perfectly and some were over cooked. If you've never had this food from down south and don't like both flavors you'll love it but don't come expecting the flavors and quality of the south. read more
