    (1 Star) I am…read moreextremely disappointed with my recent experience involving the Pro Desk and appliance department at the Show Low Lowe's location. Prior to purchasing a refrigerator, I specifically confirmed with store personnel on multiple occasions that the exact model I wanted was physically in stock and available for immediate pickup. I explained that I would be traveling from a very rural and remote area and that making the trip would require a significant investment of time, fuel, and expense. Based upon repeated assurances from Lowe's staff, I was informed that the refrigerator would be pulled from inventory, staged, and ready for loading upon my arrival. Relying upon those representations, I purchased the refrigerator and made the several-hour trip to the store. Upon arrival, I was informed that the refrigerator sold to me was actually a display model and that Lowe's was unwilling or unable to release it. Despite the inconvenience caused by the error, management declined to make reasonable accommodations and offered no meaningful solution that addressed the time, expense, and hardship their mistake had created. The result was a completely unnecessary trip involving fuel costs, vehicle wear and tear, lost productivity, and several hours of travel based entirely on information that proved to be inaccurate. Most concerning was the apparent lack of accountability once the error was discovered. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I have experienced similar issues with Lowe's. In my experience, commitments made by employees are not always honored, inventory information is not always reliable, and customer accommodations are limited when mistakes occur. As a customer, I find this both frustrating and unprofessional. By contrast, I have consistently received more reliable service, better communication, and a greater commitment to customer satisfaction from the nearby Home Depot. I hope Lowe's management takes steps to improve inventory verification, employee communication, and customer service practices so that other customers--particularly those traveling long distances from rural communities--do not experience the same inconvenience and disappointment.
