I think they're bringing too much crap in and are getting away from the original Home Depot. They don't keep their shelves shocked very well I'm not sure if that's the employees or the vendors. Their prices are always good. They usually always have what I'm looking for. But now they sell home goods and clothing and everything else you can imagine. I miss the old school pro desk it used to be very helpful. Those days are long gone. There are still a few old timers working there which is great because they are very helpful and knowledgeable. Bryan the store manager saved the day, after traveling to four different Home Depot's across ALBUQUERQUE. I was getting real frustrated with the treatment that I was being given. To include at the Renaissance store the first lady I talk to a customer service treated me really really badly and you can clearly tell she did not like her job. Had it not been for Brayan finding the track lighting that I was looking for where I said it was supposed to be at customer service. The review would've been much worse unfortunately, the first lady that I talked to didn't look worth a crap For that track lighting that just so happened to be around the corner where she was standing. Beware of the plants you purchase from this location. I purchased 4 plants and one was for surly filled with centipedes. They did not refund my money but instead gave me insecticide and wished me luck. One of the employees told me a story about a woman who brought back plants because they had two beetles. When Home Depot first opened, it was hailed as a place where the average home owner could walk in with a project in mind and find associates that would assist them in finding the correct tools to accomplish the job and also give them tips on how to do it appropriately. They would have regular free classes that would teach you how to do several home improvement projects yourself as well as home repairs. That level of customer service is now a thing of the past. My father-in-law and I went in today because he wanted to find a way to attach Christmas rope lights atop of our new cinder block fencing. Instead of helping us problem-solve solutions of how to attach it, we encountered multiple associates who said they "only stock products" until we found one guy willing to help. Unfortunately, his idea of helping was to pull out his phone and consult YouTube. We appreciated that he did pull out some sort of effort but we checked YouTube ourselves before leaving the house and that's not quite the help we were expecting. We were hoping they would know their own products. He then referred us to another aisle for glue where the girl managing the aisle was way more interested in her makeup than helping. I wouldn't say this was the worst customer service we've ever had, but it was definitely terrible. We made an online order yesterday morning for a few chimney cleaning things, and according to the numbers they had 8 of what we needed. We made the payment, and were told the order was ready about an hour later. We go into the store, and the guy hands us 1 of the 3 things we ordered and says "uh so the other stuff isn't on the floor, do you want to wait for us to get it or come back tomorrow". We didn't want to wait for this guy to go look for our stuff after already being told it was ready...because who knows how long that will take so we decided to leave and come back. We went inside just now and had two people helping us. Neither of them could find the missing piece in our purchase. They try to call Jeremy who I think was a manager or something. He comes over and immediately says "we don't have it". The thing that they supposedly had 8 of online, and was supposedly in the back. As he tells the other employee they don't have what we've been waiting for they are giggling and not helping us whatsoever. Instead of apologizing for clearly not helping, he flirts with the other employee. Then a 5th Home Depot employee comes up and tells us he believes they are in a box in the back and he wants to go look for them. In less than 10 minutes he comes back with what we ordered. So guess what, out of all of those employees only 1 was able to look inside a box to get what we needed. Clearly everyone was avoiding doing their job. I often order what I need off ebates so I can take advantage of cash back, and unfortunately the disappointing thing about Home Depot, is the wait times for online orders. This particular time there was a woman in front of me who had walked up shortly before I did. Someone was being assisted in special orders which is the counter adjacent to the order pick up desk. An employee looked up and walked off, not acknowledging either one of us. She busied herself, basically doing nothing, until someone came with a return. The woman and I started speaking about how customer service has become a lost art. Apparently the man at the desk who had been diligently helping customers overhear us. When I was finally assisted, about 20 minutes later, he commented that I should go online and write a review about how horrible the customer service was. Obviously he was being facetious but I didn't understand since he knew we were not speaking of his customer service. At any rate, the customer service does suck here. We go weekly to pick up things and no one ever seems to know where anything is and you do have to wait a ridiculous amount if time to be helped. Inventory is OK , but, as usual, trying to get help was like pulling teeth. The workers there almost always act like they are too busy doing something more important than helping the customers. Over the years there have occasionally been times where people there try to help, but that's been rare. They must have terrible management. If you want to see grown men belittle customer service representatives, you'll see this every day here. My suggestion is you start speaking up for the associates who cannot say anything or stand up for themselves. These entitled customers truly have "the customer is ALWAYS right" mentality. So upset! Ordered a dishwasher from this location and it NEVER worked. After waiting 2 weeks for a repair person we were told that the unit would never work as the door is broken and dented to return it. Employees here have generally been helpful, with everything from purchasing a washer and dryer to finding some really tiny cabinet hinge screws. I am here sometimes multiple times a day for work. Today we came for fun. I have known of these kid's workshops for quite sometime but always forget to come. We had so much fun. K got an apron and a kit to build a football game. There were about 40 kids and 40 adults. It was set in the garden area, and there was plenty of room. Hammers, buckets, brushes, nails, paint. Everything you need for an hour of fun. Best of all it was free. Your child keeps the apron and gets a pin when the project is complete. Bring the apron jack every time and collect pins. As of today, I will no longer be a Home Depot customer. I have never been treated the way I was to day at your store in Albuquerque New Mexico (Montano #3502, 1220 Renaissance Blvd NE, Albuquerque New Mexico 87107). I have been shopping Home Depot for as long as I can remember. Today when we went in and got to the cash register, I asked the clerk for my Veterans discount. She asked for my ID and I showed her my New Mexico drivers license that has Veteran stamped on it in red lettering. She told me that would not work. In formed her that is all I have used since being discharged from the service and have never had it turned down before weather it be at this store so any other that I shop at and honors Veterans discount. I asked her to see a manager and I was shrugged off. I asked again and with a snotty attitude said she would. Someone did come and I'm not even sure if she was management, but she told me the same thing. By now the gentleman behind me is rather interested in what is going on and looks at me in disbelief shaking his head. After a discussion, she said she would give me the discount, but just this once. I told her not to do me any favors, put my items down and walked out. The gentleman behind me did the same and outside we discussed what had just happened. I told him I will never go back to a Home Depot and he remarked he only will if he cannot find what he needs at Lowe's or elsewhere. I will be passing my experience along and let others a come to there own conclusions as to what they would of done. I am not saying as a Veteran I expect to be treated with kit gloves, but if you are offering a discount and the customer has proper ID and proof of service, it should be acceptable. read more

Do not, purchase flooring from Home Depot utilizing their subcontractor home solutions. Their advertising for installation Is misleading, inaccurate and full of potential additional hidden charges. There is nothing honest or transparent about their installation charges or process. I read the reviews for home solutions, and they were highly concerning, but after my discussion with the COS at Home Depot there is no chance ever that I will ever do business with home solutions or Home Depot for their sub contracted services. In my particular case, my sub floor needed up to 1/4 inch of self-leveling. I was advised, that the sub floor prep, for the entire project, only includes one bag of self-leveling product for the entire project and any additional self-leveling would be an additional fee. Their advertising, in black and white clearly states they will take care of the entire subfloor up to a 1/4". This is not true, and it is a misleading statement. Their estimate to provide self-leveling for the project was $3500. That's essentially $500 in product, and $3000 in labor which amounts to, one day of work. No thanks! This is in fact a complete rip off. I canceled my order, and I am returning my flooring. I feel bad that Home Depot has a partner like this, but after talking to their COS. They support this company wholeheartedly, and support their bad business practices. If you're going to claim you will install flooring for a fixed price that includes subfloor prep up to a 1/4" - Any intelligent customers going to expect that that subfloor prep is for the entire project. Not one bag, equal to 50 ft.². The entire project. I could not be more disappointed with Home Depot, their flooring department, and their continued relationship with home solutions. I implore you to go look at the Google reviews for home solutions in Albuquerque. There is absolutely no reason, for you to support their services after reading those reviews. Home Depot, should seriously reconsider their relationship with that company. If you're going to advertise in black-and-white in your stores and online, you should do what you're advertising states. No gray areas, no hidden BS, no shady behavior, just do what you say you're going to do. read more

Ok so me and my mom came to this location because we needed a bullet heater for the business. It's cold you know lol. So anywho she looked up heaters on the website and saw they had one for $299.99 regularly $399.99. Perfect! Well she was going to order it on the website so we could just pick it up. Well there was no button to allow us to order on the website all it said was visit the store ad quantities may be limited. No biggie it's not like we aren't going to get it. So we arrive at the store, grab a flatbed and go in search of our heater. Boom there it is right in front. But the tag says $399.99! So my mom just wants to make sure that it's the same one being offered for $299.99 on the website so she goes to find someone. An older gentleman came to help us and my mom explains the situation about finding it online for $299.99 and making sure she will get it at that price also showing him the website and how we are unable to actually order it online. Well this gentlemanhad no clue as to what he could do to help, he looked completely lost. As my mom is explaining he decides to find someone else to help. He then proceeds to find what seems to be the rudest person who works there. She was a young lady with extremely curly hair and Meirda from Brave on her apron (Sorry I didn't catch her name). My mom is trying to explain the situation and she seemed annoyed at what my mom was saying and said well we don't price match our website. My mom then showed her how we weren't able to order the heater online and she said well it's wrong sometimes and doesn't show returns. All the time huffing and rolling her eyes and with her foot on our flatbed. She walks away and comes back to say that the manager can take $50 off. At that point my mom just said you know what I'll just go buy it from another Home Depot. The girl just looked at my mom like whatever and walked away. We ended up ordering it from the Eubank store. One of my biggest pet peeves is people who work in customer service and act like they don't need or want your business. Or who act like they could care less about what you are saying. I was busy loading a cart with pavers when a HD associate let me know that I was in a bay that had already been closed to stocking. He was very annoyed that I had entered an area that had been closed off. I said that the bay had been opened when I had entered the bay and I had not noticed that someone shortly thereafter had closed the bay. A woman customer who was loading her cart with pavers nearby told the associate that yes the bay had been opened when I had arrived. The associate didn't believe me or her. He wanted me to stop loading my cart and go which I did. Oddly enough, he did not demand that the woman immediately leave. Later on, I met the other customer again in the parking. She said that she didn't know why the associate made me leave immediately because he allowed her to finish loading her cart. He even opened up the accordian gate to help her get out of the bay after she was done. I understand that for safety concerns no customer should enter a closed off bay. There are annoying rude customers who do that, but I did not do that. The bay was closed off by someone after I had entered the bay, so I resent the nasty tone of the associate. I further resent the double standard treatment. The female customer who was in the same bay was not accused of entering a closed bay, and the associate gave her time to finish loading her cart and even helped her get out of the closed bay by opening the gate for her. I own two four-plex apartment buildings, a home, and am currently adding a large addition to my home. I buy lots of hardware from all the big box stores. I will avoid Home Depot from now on at all costs. I will help them keep their bays empty by telling my friends with property to avoid Home Depot. If their associates want empty bays so badly that they have to be nasty and treat some customers unfairly then I will help keep theirs bays empty of customers as much as I can. Good-bye! read more

If you didn't know, this place is a hardware store. (I only state the obvious, because names are sometimes deceptive). The Renaissance Blvd location is a ways to travel from the foothills, but I thought it was worth the drive. Employees were friendly, store was set-up in a logical manner, and I could easily "get-in and get-out" with a small purchase. I have not used their lumber slicing expertise or installation services (yet), but expect it to be speedy and courteous like other stores I have shopped at. Bottom Line: great hardware store, and this location has been the best one in ABQ so far. read more
