I cannot say much about my experience because the item that was listed as available on the Home Depot website was not in stock in the actual store. Although I could not find my last-minute item, I thought the staff was very helpful in trying to help me find an alternative to what I was looking for. Unlike some Home Depots in the area, I did not have to search very far to find someone to help me. The only thing that was a little funny was: when I asked do you have Product X, the response was "not really". I was a bit confused because does "not really" mean you have it or not. I'd like to start off by saying that if you're giving a gift certificate or gift card from a business, there's nowhere on it that says that you could only use it online or not for store use so be weary because if you get a gift certificate from online or not Home Depot and it's a plastic card. I spoke to about six different people sent me in six different directions one cashier told me to go outside and get the picture of the grill I wanted. I said I showed you a picture of the grill. Then had to show the picture that HOME DEPOT advertises purchase a grill for over $400 they will deliver it and assemble it. It's your promotion!! Why do I have to show you this stuff! This Home Depot was the least helpful Home Depot I've ever been to. All I wanted to buy was a set of hinges. Two employees couldn't help. One said that's not his department and the other only directed us to the hinge aisle. The set of hinges that I needed were on the upper shelving. I couldn't reach it. I asked for help, one got on the intercom and requested customer assistance to hardware. Ten minutes later, no one shows up. I then go to the refunds/customer service counter and ask if she can get on the intercom again. She requests assistance to hardware again. Nobody comes. We leave the store and decide to just purchase what we need on the Home Depot app and have it delivered to us. I then add in a couple more items. The hinges arrive, but the other items don't? Home Depot customer service thankfully saves the day with a refund. read more

Bad experience buying an appliance from Home Depot. The people who sell the appliances (in my case, a washer-dryer combo), know nothing about the hoses and cords that are needed to install. The people who install (contractors, not HD employees), come only with the most common ones, not an assortment of others. The installers and the store people never speak to each other. The first time installers came, they looked in our cramped laundry closet with a flashlight, and did not move the unit. They said that we need longer hoses and a cord, which we had to go to the store to buy. They left without doing anything. The second time installers came, two days later, they said that we were sold the wrong cord, a three-prong when a four-prong was needed. The first installers would have known this if they'd pulled the unit out. Second installer team also said that we had to buy a drip pan or sign a statement absolving them of all responsibility for drips. Neither the store nor the first installers told us this. We are scheduled for a third installation attempt next week, 12 days after the purchase. Despite our requests, Home Depot wouldn't do anything to get installers to us sooner. We're sitting with two non-functioning units in our apartment, because the installers said that removal of the old unit is done only if they also install a new unit. I will never again buy an appliance from Home Depot. read more

I recently picked up a screen door via curbside here. Check-in was easy, there was a little bit of a wait so I called in, got someone right away who was able to figure out what the delay was. A few minutes later, there it was! The rep (I wish I could remember his name!) was so kind and went above and beyond to help secure the door in my hatchback. I go to a few different HD's in the area, and this one by far has the fastest and easiest curbside pickup and most helpful, kind, and responsive team members. read more

This is a huge store, & I am just referring to the regular store not the attached equipment rental area. I was here on a weekday morning, & I saw employees everywhere I looked. I never had a problem finding someone to ask for help from. I recommend this Home Depot for all your seasonal decorations & your home improvement, fixit and related maintenance items. There is also a nice, large and clean men's restroom. The Christmas decorations you can get here are awesome & more than enough to decorate both the inside & outside of your home in the spirit of the season. If you are looking for a good sale they are in every department of the store. There was clearance in the gardening department and winter hand warmers on sale at the entrance. I have been a long time customer of Home Depot, this branch specifically, for many years now. My experience with the store this past week was truly disappointing and an example of the worst of customer service. I needed assistance for a plumbing project and I asked a total of 3 employees for help. The first ignored me. The second pointed me in the direction of the specific aisle and when I asked for additional help, she ignored me and walked away. The third told me that he didn't understand what I was looking for and walked away. I was so frustrated and disappointed and helpless. After this experience, I will not frequent this place as much and will only come here for items that won't require assistance of staff. read more

Just your run-of-the-mill hardware store off of Connecticut Ave. We came by on a Saturday morning and found it to be quite busy, as to be expected. They have a decently large parking lot so there are enough parking spaces every during high traffic times. As you enter the establishment, there are large signs hanging from the ceiling and at the end of each aisle to help you locate the things you need for any of your home improvement/business/personal project needs. We found a few things we needed but it so happened that they ran out of a specific size piping we needed for plumbing, unfortunately. Walked away with a few items but now we have to drive to another big-box specialty store in order to find what we need in stock. read more

This Home Depot is huge, probably one of the biggest in the area, and it has a massive number of outdoor trees and plants, which is what I was browsing. They have trees as large as 15 feet and upwards of $1,000! The selection is also very vast. All sizes of potted plants and vegetables. Definitely the place to go if you're looking for a variety. The one down side is it is really difficult getting in and out of the parking lot because of it being on a major road and in a densely populated area. Everyone shops at this Home Depot! read more

They usually have the stuff you need. Employees are not typically experts on anything nor are there enough of them to actually assist customers with anything. Discounts require you to download the HD app which many stores do now. Discounts don't apply to sales items. Customers can use self checkou7t in the store without an associate but not in the garden shop. Prices aren't that competitive. These are many reasons why HD only gets three stars. I shop therr because they frequently are the only store that has the garden or hardware stuff I need and there isn't a Lowe's nearby. Update: HD no longer gives military discount for "building materials". Bricks, blocks, lumber etc. Unfortunately I can't give you the whole list because they don't either. They also don't give Military discount for appliances or expensive items. I recommend you ask before you assume you'll get the extra 10%. Lowe's has also changed their policy. read more

This store is horrible in terms of customer service! Like, horrible horrible! I am a new homeowner and bought a new dryer which was delivered, however I had to pay someone to stack it over the existing washing machine because home depot has a policy not to stack if the washer and dryer isn't bought together. That was annoying but I just decided not to sweat it. Unfortunately, I also bought floors and steps to redo my downstairs. And this is where it begins to turn into the Twilight Zone! I called to confirm delivery and was told everything was scheduled and set. I spoke to the installers who were great by the way who wanted to confirm I had the materials. As I had expected and tried to avoid running into this problem, home depot had not secured my delivery and when they finally brought the materials 3 days later than when i was told they would arrive--after numerous calls where no one knew what I talking about-- the steps were not delivered with the floors. So when the installers came only the floors were installed. I called to inquire about the steps and was told, that my order was fulfilled and delivered. Tried to speak with someone from the flooring but the calls kept "dropping" before I could get anyone to answer. I drive up there and the woman in flooring kept telling me she did not know how to check on the order and that I needed to speak with someone who wasn't even there. After I went to customer service and spoke with a nice woman, I asked for the assistant manager who didn't acknowledge me when I was standing there and when I tried to tell him I had their installation manager on the phone to confirm that I had indeed not had my stair delivered he got nasty and raised his voice, continued to ignore me. I was floored and upset, but kept my cool, this behavior was completely unacceptable! He finally walks to the back of the store and lo and behold, my stairs were there with a big sign with my name on it. This man wheels the 15+ boxes and says I can take them with me. I can say he did help load all the boxes in my Civic, and his attitude was a little better, still no apology. Anyway, I really can't see myself spending another dime at this store. My experience has been abysmal with the flooring department especially, but the assistant manager was completely unprofessional and emotionally disregulated on this particular day. This is a BAD place. Seriously- this is long story, but let me put bottom line upfront- it appears as if employees steal from customers and store management enables and/or is in on the take. Really - WATCH OUT! Here goes/ My wallet went missing after I used credit card from wallet for purchase. I immediately realized wallet was missing - I inquired- store personnel said nothing was found. I returned to store 6+ hours later after work shift to inquire - an employee whose name I have - she actually said - oh the "named the color of my wallet and size" - I did a little dance and woo-hoo - so excited to hear she had it. She opened the list and found drawers - looked through them in front of me, asked another employee who looked through the drawers- nope, not there. Hmm. I ask for store manager who arrived with no interest at all - saying no one knows, what are you talking about- I say well your employee "W" actually described color without me even saying it and said "x" color wallet had been turned in and she can now not find it. Manager didn't care. Walked off. This is such crazy long story but the details tell you everything you need to know. I called the store after manager walked off and I waited for her return- she never ever returned- I was on hold repeated for more than 20 minutes. Managers name was lily. I called back - from the store - I was told there was no manager named lily- I called back again - I was told lily was looking for it- on and on and on. Event lily got on line and asked for proof I was at the store at specified time. She asked about the clothing I was wearing so she could verify I was at the store.... huh? Like really - the issue is that your employee confirmed that my wallet was turned in and now you cannot find it which means one if your employees with access to lost items stole it - and instead of asking your employees, manager is trying to verify I was actually at the store??? What? So I contacted MOCO police. They said I had right to request officer to meet me at premises to review video footage. When I called to tell lily I wanted to meet MOCO officer to review video footage, lily said that she couldn't authorize that - that would be matter for store manager or higher up - I said what? You said you were store manager - lily said no - I'm not. Even though I had asked and spoken to her multiple times "as store manager" she now admits she isn't. I think she is on the scam - my opinion. She misrepresented herself every step if the way - and had zero interest that an employee had clearly stolen property from a customer- she did no investigation except to confirm I was there which was easily provable from my payment on my credit card. THUS IS HORRIBLE PLACE and I will pursue this vigorously. Lily did at the end inform me of the actual store manager's name. And I will contact corporate and I will legally request video footage, and I will provide all details on every social media platform. If anyone has experienced similar situation please contact me as I believe this is a criminal enterprise at Home Depot. read more

Customer Service is an oxymoron to the people at this store Nobody will help. Their usual answer, "There's a whole isle full over on" --yadda yadda yadda--we don't really care. I also brought the axle to my trash can as one of the end screws had gone missing. I was told to go to isle X and an employee would help me. I waited waited and waited some more and had to resort to searching for an employee. He finally shows up and I show him the axle. I didn't get to say he word. He grumbled, "We don't fix nothing--buy a new trash can." Then he just walked off. So unprofessional. Was very excited about our renovation. We secured a builder and then picked Home Depot for our fixtures and supplies. WARNING: all online orders can't be stopped or cancelled. We realized that we had a vanity ordered on accident. Called the 1800 number Monday and waited 22 mins, before someone acted like nobody was there and sent me through to a survey. Called back, same thing happened. Roughly 40 mins wasted. On the third call the lady told me that you have to wait until the vanity was shipped to their partner NSD (non stop delivery company) for delivery before you can cancel it. So the vanity goes from Home Depot warehouse all the way to Chantilly VA (all the costs associated) to cancel. But wait, it gets worse. After they tell you that you have to wait until then, you call when you get the shipped email they still tell you sorry, it has to be literally ready to go on the truck that day to cancel. So we get the message Thursday that it's being delivered. We call them first thing in the morning and it's too late. As the delivery guy pulled up, I noticed the 250+ box is on the guys shoulder and when he realized it was too heavy he slammed the box down in the grass then just LEFT! On the grass outside of the building. Once opened you can see in the pictures that the vanity was damaged. Now to send it back we need to wait up to five days and only after they call to confirm. Today I waited another 45 mins on two separate calls because their home delivery CSR playa games and doesn't want to answer calls. Again today another item we want to return that's now in ship mode the point where they tell you that you can cancel an order but you can't. What a racket. Completely disjointed operation. Do NOT use Home Depot Home delivery. If the CEO and Operations executives would pay attention to this process that's leaking out an incredible amount of money and revamp the return policy, you'll stop losing customers like us. We will never work with Home Depot again. Nor will I ever buy from them again. read more

Paint Department Home Depot Aspen Hill - Indian man very rude! Was just there at the Aspen Hill Home Depot around 11:15 am today on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, and the Indian man in the Paint Department yet again did not assist me with selecting paint. I was there a couple weeks ago and he was there and I asked him about stain and yet again he was rude and did not help me. I am from this Aspen Hill area and have been coming here all my life and the other Paint associates here were wonderful but this Indian man has made it an unpleasant experience to shop here any more. I have heard other customers in the store say the same thing. Something needs to be done about this; he needs to be trained to utilize customer service skills which he does not have any. I was going to spend hundreds of dollars on stain and paint and I feel I cannot go here until this has been resolved. Lost out on alot of money and I'm sure some customers. Waited in line for customer service for over 15mins and I've been the next in line since I entered the building.. Also some staff members here will ignore customers. Not sure if it was intentional or was due to the end of the workday. Customer service line takes a long time. However, making purchases at the checkout line goes at a good and steady pace. read more

Horrible experience here today as I came in completely ready to purchase a dryer: Unfriendly customer service representative let out a loud, exasperated sigh when I didn't know the model # off the top of my head so they had to rise up out of their chair and walk 20 feet to look at it with me. I am sure there was a good reason for why standing up to walk with me was a difficult endeavor but their treatment of me bordered on dehumanizing. My best guess is that employees are probably treated horribly, as just about everyone there seems angry at everyone else. For some reason, I guess I felt like I needed more abuse, so I went to a different Home Depot where the customer service was a lot better but I then discovered all the hidden fees in my purchase. Buyer beware. Find out a reputable, independently owned company instead. I did that and they are getting my money today. read more

I live about 5-10 minutes away and have used this Home Depot a lot since moving into my house. My experience has been very mixed. There are some nice and helpful people working there, but also a lot of people who know little and care less. You can't expect that you will necessarily be talking to someone with any experience in the department they are stationed in. I guess I'm saying to not set your expectations very high. All that being said, I can say with confidence to avoid their service department like the plague. I've never had a good experience with them, and the claims process for property damage caused by their contractors is horrendous. Even their referral program for contractors is populated by mid to low tier technicians who will not do a good job or take care to leave your property intact following their work. Take home message: treat them like a box store. If they have the product you want at a good price and are convenient, go ahead and buy there, but if you need any advice or service in your home, seek that elsewhere. read more

What a nasty piece of work this Home Depot is, even worse than all the other bad ones I've endured. I bought a $2,600 Electrolux washer and dryer to be delivered in 1 week.. Turns out Electrolux never got the order from HD to ship. After another week 3 non-English-speaking guys came out and installed them. They left a mess as well as problems: the storage cabinet doors under the items--one couldn't be opened and the other wouldn't close. I told the guys to take the cabinets off. They wouldn't do it or couldn't? They left a mess and the w&d couldn't get closer than 7" from the wall, because they configured the dryer vent incorrectly. I called service dept. and 3 more non-English-speakers came out and refused to remove the cabinets. They left as well. Note: I hadn't done even one load of laundry for several weeks. I needed to do a load of wash at that point and the laundry room flooded from the bottom of the washer, and the washer shut down. It hadn't been installed correctly! I decided to return the entire set, resolving to never again shop at HD. I had to call Electrolux to get them taken away, which after several weeks they, or HD, did on April 17. Long story short: It is now May 18, a month after the units were carted away and Home Depot has still not credited my card for the return! Turns out they'd never heard of the return! Trying to get anyone to answer their phone is futile, but the phone was finally answered today. I got incredibly lucky-- and a wonderful and attentive c.s. rep., Cheryl Dawson, cleaned up the entire mess for me! Now I can sleep again. Credit is pending.
