Kitchen & Bath Design Consultant Team Member Tony was excellent and after experiencing the service at many different Home Depots nationwide on different renovation projects, Tony was a welcome time travel to the days of true customer service. Our current project is the total house renovation of an older home with a great deal of historical and sentimental values, so not an easy project, and on a hot summer sunday - the idea of going shopping for granite kitchen countertops was not in my top ideals places to spend my sunday, but the product selection and the assistance of the design consultant, Tony, made this a good sunday. Tony was a no BS guy and he did not bother us until he realized that we could not make up our mind on product. He was clear on the plus and minuses of the products we were looking at, and not pushy but realistic - he reminded us of that unemotional and smart uncle that many people have who will educate us by simply asking us that simple question: So, why do you want to do that? While we were not planning on finalizing the granite countertop purchase until checking a couple of other local providers, Tony made it easy to get it done and we did. Recently purchased a dishwasher which included a $100 manufacturer's rebate. They absolutely could not figure out how to apply it until I suggested that maybe you have to add the item to the cart, then the coupon. Bingo. The whole reason we went to the store instead of ordering online was to see the machine we were purchasing, but they had none in stock to show us. Delivery was scheduled for a week out, and two guys in a rented Enterprise truck showed up to do our installation. You'd think they'd be prepared with, say, TOOLS, but my husband had to provide a toolbox and flashlight since they only had a basic screwdriver. Then the garbage disposal was in the way and they were unable/unwilling to tinker with it, plus they had to "get to the next stop." So our old dishwasher remained in place, 6 feet away from our new, uninstalled dishwasher. Finally we called a plumber who arrived the same day with all the proper tools, installed it, and carted away the old one. Mind you, we paid Home Depot for the machine, plus delivery, installation and haul away. My former 5 star review has dropped to an appropriate 3 stars for this delivery debacle. read more

I went to Home Depot today to get a new thermostat. I had my service dog with me and this was the second time I've gone there and an employee told me in a warning voice that they had a cat? My dog is well trained and I said oh that's not a problem. My dog is OK with that and the woman said oh well the cat doesn't like dogs? Why is there a cat there if the cat cannot be trained and is not safe? I for one never have heard of a service cat emotional support, but they're not to be in a public store.My dog is a service dog because I have severe asthma and she warns me when I come close to something that can trigger an attack ....one of those things is cats. The way these two women told me on both occasions it was like your not safe here? Home Depot should rethink what they're doing because if that cat attacks a service animal, they're going to have a lawsuit on their hands I won't go back to the store after twice being treated like my service animal and I were not welcome there. . Lowe's you literally disappoint us. Bought a washer a dyer, stackable. Bought the "kits" fast forward to delivery of yesterday 2/1. Guys show up(2 hours after delivery window) bring dryer to the door, call us out to looks at the 2 dents at the bottom- they told us that they marked and made warehouse aware of dents, that we should calls Lowe's where we purchased Items and they can replace or give a discount. Ok thanks. Bring in washer, call us over to laundry room we look .... My husband says "so you guys don't stack them" the guy says " you didn't buy the kit" uh yeah we did we were told EVERYTHING was in the install kit!! He tells us go back to Lowe's and they will give you everything and set us up to come back. Head to Lowe's - nope we paid for another kit... and told by operations manager you have to call the warehouse to get discount and set up install .... Ok we'll call today 2/2. This warehouse says no damage was reported there is nothing they can do. We ordered BRAND new machines... not damaged machines....so pick them up and refund us. LOWES NO MORE! You guys are horrible at customer service and should be ashamed! read more

Ordered a Dishwasher, paid for the dishwasher, waited for two weeks for dishwasher to arrive. Dishwasher arrived damaged, no help from delivery service as to resolving the issue, now have to wait for two more weeks for a replace dishwasher while my broken dishwasher sits in the kitchen uninstalled. Delivery service was more concerned about moving to next job than completing this one. Home Depot sucks. read more

On Sunday December 11th I went to Home Depot to return and purchase a few items. I was In the hardware aisle for 15-20 minutes and a suspicious individual was loitering around the whole time. After I checked out the same individual was loitering in the parking lot and may have seen what car I was driving. I have safety anxiety and called in to report the suspicious individual but hours later this still bothers me. The staff is a so friendly and always willing to help and I always leave the place more knowledgeable then when I entered. I've been going to this home depot for years and they have more than enough in their department to suit all your home improvement needs. Where else do I get my paint! This locations always clean and well organized, The return area sign is to the left when you walk in and really small you could miss it. Every staff member I've ever encountered here is very helpful. Check out is always very fast even when the store door is crowded. The process returns very fast. Restrooms are above average cleanliness. Parking is plentiful, A lot attendant does an excellent job of keeping those huge baskets from running into your vehicle. It's impressive even in the snow in bad weather how neat the store is. Fast-moving seasonal items always near the front door even rock salt for your driveway when it's ice and snow outside. read more

I knew it... Really, I did. I actually predicted the exact outcome of my attempt to rent a truck at Home Depot today. I'm sorry, I misspoke. Did I say "a truck?" I meant to say "the truck." The singular is most appropriate in this case, because this Home Depot HAS ONE GODDAMN RENTAL TRUCK FOR THE ENTIRE STORE. One [bleep]ing truck. You can't reserve it. You can't even call ahead for it. If the truck is out, you can't know when the current renter is going to bring it back, because there's no time limit. Despite knowing all this on my big landscaping day, and knowing that this couldn't possibly end well, I stupidly carried out the entire charade to its completion. Like I said before, I clairvoyantly foresaw the following: 1. I was going to be told that a customer had already taken out the truck. 2. I was going to be told that the customer said he was going to return the truck within a reasonable amount of time (30 minutes per the associate), therefore convincing me that it would be no big deal to hang out and wait for a bit. 3. I would then proceed to STAND AROUND LIKE AN ASSHOLE in the store for an hour and half. 4. After my patience wore thin, the store manager was going to pay me little more than lip service for standing in his store for 90 MINUTES waiting for the only rentable utility truck in the area. "Oh man, I can't tell you how long I've been trying to get a second truck." "I called the customer but it's an office number." I give the store manager credit for trying, but ultimately, he failed. If you can think of a truck rental system that is more bizarre, frustrating, and wholly inadequate to serve the community, I'd love to hear it. Home Depot practically made a concerted effort to waste my entire morning, and did a damn fine job of it. Of course, this review doesn't matter. With an oligopoly in the home improvement big box market, I and many others will continue to subject ourselves to this elite level of utter bullshit for years to come. My husband and I went to the Berlin home depot to buy a new dryer. a young girl came to help us, she was very nice and looked like she knew what she was doing. We paid the bill and left the store with our 1/2 ass receipt that she gave us. When we got home we noticed that all the extras we payed for were not on the receipt, like the taxes or the extra cord we paid for and etc. So we called the store and of course she had just gone home. So come to find out she doesn't even work in that department but decided to help us anyway. So the woman we spoke to told us to come back the next day and she would straighten everything out. So we get there and talk to her and she told us the girl never gave us the whole receipt and rest of the paper work. Then she straightened it all out for us and asked if the girl had gone over the do's and dont's to us and we said no and she told us the girl had told her that the did. LIAR! So this woman did for us and we went to the paint dept. Another dufous help us get paint . We got the first one and he gave us a second one cause we needed a larger size and we told him the color and he gives us the wrong one. Does anyone do their job right anymore? I recently purchased an online order and when I got to the store it wasn't ready. Luckily I saw the item I needed and asked Bill for assistance. I purchased the Werner ladder online for $29.99 and was hoping it was on sale for the same price. Bill told me there was absolutely no way that I could get the ladder for $30 when it costs $90. He never checked the description to see if it matched, nor did he provide assistance by seeing if I could get a price match, nothing, he simply dismissed the request and walked away. I know racism when I feel it and its blatantly thrown in my face. As if I wanted something I couldn't afford. He didn't even try to help a customer, what is he there for? It didn't sit right with me, I walked over to the paint section and the gentleman there asked me if I needed my paint shaken, without me having to ask. Something said ask someone else about the ladder, so I headed back in that direction and asked Anthony for his assistance and told him about the price and he said the ladder fit the description of my online purchase he carried the ladder to his manager who then scanned it and low and behold the ladder was priced at $29.99. I was so happy I thanked Anthony 10x. I realized that if I just let Bill continue to not assist customers and with a racial undertone he'd continue to cause your store to lose money. I called in and spoke with Caprice, who told me that she'd speak to the head manager Chris and get back to me. read more

Had a horrible experience returning a water heater for a new one and contracted through Home Depot's contractor. Stared with a reasonable quote for removal and replacement. Quote was 425.00 with the MFG warranty contribution at my home it turned to 868.00 with more to come? I cancelled the job and got my own plumber for 375.00 The horrible part was the Home Depot contractor, in quoting new price at my house lifted a check valve on my water heater and never put it back. Newly redesigned inside, which allows for more tools to be on display. Staff have been more helpful than in recent past. Certain tools seem to be better priced than competition. The isles are brightly light and the prices are clearly marked. I recommend this hardware store over any other, they always have the right tools, hardware and wood available; even plants. BEWARE WITH APPLIANCE DELIVERIES....... My mother came here and purchased a new oven, microwave, refrigerator and dish washer. Everything from up to and after the purchase were great. Today was the delivery day. Let me rewind to yesterday for a second.....We get a call that the delivery windows are for 4 hours. (not great, but understandable) She then tells us our window is from 9am-1pm. OKAY.......an hour later, we get another call and they tell us our window is from 2pm-6pm. We then tell this lady that we just got a call and they told us 9-1, after a brief hold we were told the Dish Washer is coming separate.....Dish washer is 9am-1pm and the rest of the delivery is from 2pm-6pm. LET ME JUST STAY AT HOME ALL DAY. Nothing can be done. So we both take the days off from work. First delivery comes at 11am, guy was there for maybe 30mins. All great, everything smooth. THEN WE WAIT....AND WAIT....AND WAIT.....530pm comes along, we get a phone call......thinking they are about to tell us they are down the road....NOPE. They want to reschedule. NO PROBLEM, ILL QUIT MY JOB AND STAY HOME, COME WHEN EVER YOU WANT....The moral of the story, confirm your delivery BEFORE your purchase, if they cant confirm it, then WALK AWAY. read more
