Sometimes the store looks like it's just been looted. Check out the photo I took of the roofing area yesterday -- I was just trying to grab some J-channel and had to weave around grills, pallets, boxes... everything. The ladies working early in the morning are very kind and will help you scan your items. However, some products, like spray paint and patch filler, are dried out. Occasionally, the tools are even rusty -- like the steel rakes I've included in the photo. I saw one of the Pro Loadout guys push a cart from the lumber doors and let it roll freely down the steep parking lot, slamming into the cart corral. How long until they have to replace the fencing around the corral from this idiot's ramming? What if a child had been in the way? The rewards system feels like a scam -- but that seems to be the case at every Home Depot. read more

John helped me find items as he was in the paint section at the time. Gave me enough information to work with and I was glad to have him as a resource. The was another staffer available but John seemed more ready to answer and was on his feet more. It was about 30 minutes before closing. I considered another Home Depot open one hour later than this one as I am about the same distance between the two. However, my service experiences have not been as favorable at the one. Here, the people seem super nice and the store is pleasant to be around. A friend told me that delicate tape would not have been good for my purposes and going with the multipurpose tape was the way to go. I considered canvas paint cover but felt that I didn't need that level of material for the price that it was. John was very helpful for helping me figure that out. He also recommended the paint covers and I liked that idea a lot . Wouldn't have thought of it and nor my friend who plans to help me with a painting project. read more

I can prove without a shadow of doubt that I was terminated from Home Depot Broomall, PA / Store 4181 due to employees feeling uncomfortable about my gender / sexual identity and due to me refusing to assimilate to a pattern of unethical practices just to make more money. Prepare for an EEOC COMPLAINT and a wrongful termination lawsuit. In addition my workplace became a hostile place to work when I stood my ground and refused to push damage protection with each tool rental contract but instead simply asked each rental customer whether or not they wanted damage protection and let the customer decide. Damage protection not equal to auto, homeowners, medical, umbrella, or commercial insurance. It is a sales tactic, a huge money maker for home depot, same as extended warranties, and credit card sales. Gigantic kickbacks and commissions. Mathematically, statistically, and financially speaking with few exceptions, its gimmick insurance. People I urge you... Check your receipts when you rent tools, especially from store 4181. Dispute paying for damage protection you didn't ask for till it is refunded. Keep in mind damage protection is required on large pieces of towable equipment unless you can produce 300k or higher liability limits. Workplace also became hostile when I gave justified markdowns and discounts that made sense in various instances. Business is not just about profit. Yes, profit is important, without it there is no business, but... It's about both profit and loss. Occasionally it is right to take a loss and do right by the customer. Occasionally the store is at fault. Occasionally you suck it up and markdown when customer complains at check in because you were so busy you didn't take the time to do every single check out procedure properly and therefore cannot prove it was working when it left Then again no one person should ever have to work in a department alone. Much better Home Depot than the one at Ridley. Actually, I think the customer base makes it happen as it is generally more upscale in the demographics. As a result, the clientele is made up of home owners and the staff is used to questions from home owners rather than contractors. The store is well laid out and has just about everything. And if you get hungry, the rest of the shopping center has Salad Works, Starbucks and Panera. We went over to this Home Depot for bathroom remodeling supplies for my partner's home. We found everything except carbide knives to cut the cement board. We had to do with the extra-strength steel. I love hardware stores and could spend an entire afternoon at this one. read more

Stopped in the garden center with my mom looking for planter boxes, we found some but they were damaged. When I went to the cashier to ask if they would be discounted because of the damage she immediately shook her head and said no, which I know is not true. I then asked if a manager could make the discount and I was told that I could go find one. I guess she was to busy twiddling her thumbs to be able to pick up the phone. I was in need of some plants for my garden, some weed-be-gone and a couple lights so I decided to stop off at Home Depot. When you walk in your are greeted with a couple of containers of weed-be-gone. However, they were all in industrial sizes. Later, when walking around the store I actually saw more groups of weed-be-gone containers all in different sizes. It was not organized too well, but I found the size of weed-be-gone I needed. Later, when looking for light bulbs I asked a staff-member, Michael, for some help. All I can say, is that he is the real deal. He explained to me why he prefers I got LED lights as it would last longer by over 20 years and would be cheaper when it comes to the energy bill. They also had a nice variety of annuals available. I picked up a beautiful magnolia to add to my garden. Finally, they have self checkout available. It is easy to use and they have a very kind lady who helps you checkout. When I accidentally scanned the weed-be-gone twice she kindly removed it for me. Great store! I will return! read more

If you know what you are looking for then you will be ok. If you need help, it will be a crap shoot if you can get good help. Paint dept is pretty good. We waited for 30 minutes to buy some appliances. There were 5 customers and no staff in the appliances. We wanted to spend $7000 and we could not find someone to give our money to. It was so bad that after asking 3 different employees to get someone. I even tried to call the store front from the appliances to get some one. No help at all. Good evening to my Yelp Family!!! I have patronized this location of Home Depot several times, but this is the first time that I have attempted to write a review. The family's Tall Oscillating Fan ceased to function on Monday night and I knew today that I was going to go out on Wednesday morning to purchase another one. My errand travels brought me to Broomall, where I wanted to stop at the Giant/Broomall and grab a few things. The new Giant, near the Royal Farms. Enroute to the Giant, I stopped at the Home Depot to purchase a tall Oscillating Fan. After visiting the restroom, I thought I would need assistance to find the fans. I have not visited this location in a while and I didn't have a clue as to where the oscillating fans would be. It just so happened that when I left the restroom, I saw the ceiling fans and I assumed that other fans would be nearby. They were. I saw plenty of box fans and about six tall oscillating fans. They were by Lasko. And they were on top, like on the top wall. I grabbed my fan and off I went to find the self checkout. I found it and I was lugging my fan. I paid for it and happily, I left with my new Oscillating Lasko fan. When I arrived home, my brother and I read the instructions and assembled the fan without any problems or issues. It was a cinch!!! No tools were required, just our eyes and hands. Now the family is back in business!! We have a brand new lightweight Lasko oscillating fan. We are good and happy now!! I only come here when I visit my parents if I really need to get something that D.M.I doesn't carry. This isn't as big as the ones that are located near my place, ( I have 2 in my area) which is always stocked with everything I have noticed they don't always have what you are looking for, which makes it difficult for the buyer. I surely don't want to go out to the one in Clifton or out to K.O.P. The crew here are "ehh" sketchy, some actually know what they are doing , others are just filling a void at times. read more

Ok, I was ultimately able to obtain what I needed at a reasonable price. That's good. But is it really necessary to treat me (and my wife) as if we interrupted something far more important when we ask for some assistance? It wasn't just one occurrence either; imagine me having to move out of their way while they're stocking shelves... excuse me... are customers and their needs really so irrelevant to the staff? The last time we came here, we also faced a hard-sell on a kitchen remodel - as if we got a free trip to a resort for the low-low price of listening to their pitch for a time-share. When I went to this location last week, it was like a ghost town. There was nobody in sight to offer assistance or answer questions. The only person who came up to me was someone asking me if I was considering Solar Power. My goal was to purchase ceiling tiles and acoustic insulation. There were no employees to be seen anywhere. The tiles I needed were mostly damaged packages. There were only 2 boxes that were in undamaged condition. So my trip was a waste of time as I'll have to go to another Home Depot this weekend. I would have given this store a half star if it was possible. The store seemed like a deserted movie set, I was looking for a tumble weed to come rolling by. I expected a lot more from this location. My advice is to purchase from the Springfield or King of Prussia locations. They have a better stock and friendlier staff willing to assist you. read more

As others have said this isn't the biggest Home Depot but def the best home improvement store in the area. We have been shopping for a new front door and storm door and visited the Clifton Heights Home Depot and the Havertown Lowes and this Home Depot. This location is hands down the best out of the three. The people that work here are very friendly and helpful and answered a ton of our questions and were upfront and realistic about price and didn't make me feel stupid asking questions. Also the sales reps have taken time to talk to us and find out what we need and offer suggestions. Also they actually know what they are talking about here, at Lowes they just tell you what you want to hear. At the Clifton Heights Home Depot people that work there act like they are doing you a favor by answering your questions. We will becoming here from now on. read more

If you want to contract Covid 19 then go directly to this Home Depot. Months ago I decided not to shop here again. We needed some potting soil and gave them a final try. Though many of the staff are trying to give good customer service they are doing it with no masks or gloves and at distances far less than 6 feet from customers. While we were checking out a cashier walked around us and brought a customer in between my husband and I to check him out at a register in front of us. It is clear the staff have had no training and the management endangers them with no masks! We could not exit the store quickly enough. read more

The self checkout person was very friendly, courteous & joyful. He went above & beyond to help me. I got to my car & found out that the emergency brake release was not working. I called my mechanic & other than getting my car towed he said to go into the home depot & ask for help. The woman I asked for help took me to the mechanic in the tool dept. The mechanic came out & took a look at my car. He discovered that the cable was disconnected from the pedal. I am so very, very thankful that this good samaritan took the time to help me out. He didn't have to but he did. (I had figured out that the previous day when I was having the oil changed at Jiffy Lube that the attendant who vacuumed the inside of my car must have hit the cable attached to the emergency brake pedal & disconnected it. Mind you this had never happened to me before since I had gone to a different Jiffy Lube than the usual one that I go to.) read more

Went online to check availability of a tile saw in the tool rental department. Website says 1 in stock. Drive 25 min to Store and they have 1 in stock. BROKEN. Employee states been down from 2 months but I can rent you the next bigger one for twice the cost. No way. Speak to manager and am told he will give next bigger on at full price with a HD gift card for the balance. Hmm, I'm still spending reuse the amount at HD. Went to Harbor Freight and purchased tile saw for less than the larger rental at HD. Is it as good? Maybe, only needed to make a few cuts. Now I have a saw for next time. Ordered a 30" x 80" Emco/Anderson storm door after telling the sales associate that we needed to replace a door that measured exactly 30".  The door we received measured only 29" in a box labeled 30".  Returned the door only to be told WE ordered the wrong size door (when their sales associate co-signed the size selection).  We were ready to order another door at whatever they deemed to be the correct size, however, they refused to issue a full refund because the color was considered "special order".  Broomall HD personnel failed to see that the error was not ours.  They charged us a 15% re-stocking fee for a door that measures differently than the stated dimensions.Thankfully, 1-800 HD Customer Service sided with us and authorized the full refund. read more

I have been at the service desk 4 times for a special order toilet. Tool rentals get rented out not working. Needed several coworkers and managers just to replace a broken toilet. Worst service I have ever received, now 5 weeks and we can not get our dishwasher installed. I had to loan tools to the delivery company and show them how to hook up a hose! Freight Right their service delivery company is a night mare, they showed up the first time with the machine without the kit to install it. Second time, yes, you got it same thing! I had to call Home Depot to get that install set up. Third time, the night before, their installer called said didn't know what he was coming there to do but would be there at a in the AM. A call to Freight Rite in Ohio got us a follow up, we were told they would be there in 2 to 3 hours, so before 11AM. They arrived at 4 with yes you guessed it no kit to install it. Another call and 20 minutes to home depot, we get our 4th Saturday set up, this time they showed up, and asked to borrow Allen Keys, and I had to give them the old hose, so they would know that we did not need something special. They leave, I tip each of them, they leave with the black kick plate in hand. I then notice that the install looks like hell. Then when we go to open the door, it wont open all the way. Another call to Home Depot, who told me to call Bosch. I call Bosch, and they tell me I have to talk to Home Depot. Another 20 minutes waiting to get a manager at the Broomall store, told the entire story. I told them I wanted a new machine and I wanted it installed, I did not want the one that was never installed repaired as that is what I was told it would have to be! Can you imagine I need to get a $700 dishwasher repaired before it ever worked! Freight Right shows up a 5th time, they try to open the door, find it wont open. They take a piece off the dishwasher tell me it is a manufactures failure and we will have a new unit delivered. Today, I call Home Depot again, and after 25 minutes, I get to person in the service department at the Broomall store. Surprise, they never heard from Freight Right about the broken machine, it is now Thursday and there is no work order in place for us to get a working dishwasher installed. I am now waiting to hear back from him, and he wanted me to know that he was just getting this problem and it would be SOME TIME before I get a working dishwasher. Did I mention we paid $221 for the installation, so all in around $1,000 to get nothing yet. Worst run around I have ever had, horrible service, no communication between the companies and absolutely nothing to their customer. No one cares that we are out $1,000 and have nothing to show for it with Thanksgiving a week away. 12-11-19 the saga continues. We have had three more visits since my last update this is three more Saturdays where we end up spending our time waiting for service to be delivered we have now spent 3.5 full weekend days and still do not have a working machine installed. Last Saturday we were to receive our white glove service! They showed up with a lower model machine with less features, 2 racks vs 3 racks (what we ordered). Better yet, they could not install it as they were missing parts to do so! Every one of their 8 trips to our house their installer has not had the right parts! Their installed told a wild tail about how we refused delivery, yet their own documentation states wrong machine and no part. Now to cancel the order, they want us to give them the machine we have in our house and only when they get it will they give us our money back $1,000, I have no confidence that they will. read more

Asked sullen old white gentleman cleaning up in the nails/screws aisle for help. He was not too friendly and reluctant to help. Very offputting. He has no business working with customers. Were I his boss and saw the interaction, he would be let go or moved to a position where he does not have to interact with customers. Only offered a little help when he realized it was something for my young teenage son. Need to hire better workers. This guy should go work for Donald Trump or Jeff Sessions. i wish there was a lowes near me. they usually have better customer service and more knowledgeable people working there. i was with a friend who was looking for something. a home depot person told us what aisle it was in. we got there and i was like no, it should be with so and so stuff. so we went to another aisle and sure enough we found what we needed. i should be working at home depot! even though the color orange is my favorite, i will have to say this home depot like most home depot's i've visited are just okay. this location is particularly small and doesnt carry as much stuff as its larger locations. i dont think i could ever give home depot anything above a 3 star, they're just not quite there. i hope a lowes opens near me eventually so i can stop going here.... read more

I was buying supplies so my neighbor could help me fix my front steps. I needed several 80lbs bags of concrete and a few other odd and ins. One of there employees "Chris" greeted me as I was coming in and asked if I needed help finding anything. I showed him pictures of the brands I wanted and he went outside and got a shopping cart and took me full across the store, loaded up everything and took it to the register. He was very informative and pretty funny to. He loaded up my car as well, I put $5 in his apron for his help and we chatted about the Eagles for a min before I left. When I got home and started to unload, I noticed the Chris slipped the $5 back into the trunk. Store was very clean, everyone was very friendly. The only negitive I saw was the entrance off of Reed Rd is very rough if you drive a small car, they have some sort of drain the will rattle the car pretty good when you go over it. read more
