I rarely shop here but my neighbor had this orange thing that slides into your leaf bags and a Google search brought me here. Also looked for green light bulbs online to support veterans. The stock online was to order them to be shipped. I did find some inside the store. Paid online through PayPal and pickup was easy. I was able to score a military discount thanks to my son. I sometimes buy flowers in the spring and summer. I liked the display of Grinches. read more

Dishonoring military veterans. Home Depot used to honor veterans service with a small 10 percent discount on items. Today I was informed this isn't the case unless I go online and fill out forms to obtain this discount. I needed my products today for a project and was unable to complete this project due to the frustration. This was a 20 dollar discount that the manager easily could have done and instead of doing that and asking me to complete the form next time they advised me I can shop elsewhere and it was the corporate policy. Staff are wearing masks for the most part. Some associates play intimidation games on others. Store Manager is not available past 5pm on most days. The store needs to be held to a higher standard. "Price match guarantee" i.e. price gouge guarantee. They won't price match items on sale at other stores or items online. I had to ask them to repeat that three times because it sounded so ridiculous. What kind of price match guarantee doesn't apply to items on sale? You can get better prices and service at any of their competitors, and I can guarantee it. read more

Greeted immediately and was asked if we needed any assistance. Went to paint department where Cora greeted us with a smile and quickly took care of all the cans of paint we needed. Great job Cora! As hardware stores go, I have found that every location has both a high ceiling for excellence in customer service, and an extremely low floor for incompetence. To be perfectly honest, because this store is only four minutes from my house, I have been here enough to have experienced both at this location. Here are my overall musings: At this Home Depot, you truly do get excellent customer service. If you have questions, people answer them without acting like you're keeping them from their "real job". When I need supplies, and advice on how to execute a job, I always come here. When it comes to prices, Menards has a superior cost structure, and honestly better selection. In my experience, it's just a fact. So, in a way, it's a bit of a "get what you pay for" experience. If you want a high level of customer service experience, that really makes you feel taken care of, come here. However, if you are going to do a major construction project, you might be better served stretching your dollars further down the road.... Or even come here for ideas, and then shop the prices to compare! Huge shoutouts to Elizabeth at the front, and the team in flooring and electrical. I always stock up specifically in my flooring and electrical needs here because of the awesome people! read more

I had a horrible experience with my laminate flooring project with the Burnsville, MN location. I have purchased flooring from Home Depot three times in the past and had great experiences so I mistakenly decided to go back. The project started off on the wrong track right away in that it took multiple phone calls to the store and 800 number to even get the project scheduled to begin with. Two months after I purchased the flooring it was finally scheduled and the the day that the installers were suppose to come they never arrived and when I called they didn't realize they were scheduled that day. The next day another team was supposed to come and they arrived almost 3 hours and 20 minutes later than originally planned. Once they arrive they said they were not able to do the project and the store would be calling me. I would not recommend this store to anyone at this point for flooring installation. read more

After being a Home Depot customer for years, no longer. We purchased an expensive ($100 +) dual voltage (Lithium battery/120 VAC) , Ryobi leaf blower 9/29 last year at the Burnsville Home Depot. Since it was the end of the year, barely had a chance to use it. Well it's Spring now and thought I would blow leaves, but guess what the battery or charger was bad. We saved our receipt (Menard's can look it up, Home Depot can't) and went to customer service today and the lady said if we had purchased the extended warranty she would cover it otherwise only 90 day warranty. We could buy a new battery ($50 approx) if that was the problem or bring it at our expense to Apple Valley repair shop and pay for parts and labor, which would bring it close to purchase price when you figure parts, labor and two trips there. We said we understand that, but when you purchase a leaf blower and almost Winter, you don't get a chance to use it until Spring. Could we speak with a manager? She called a manager, did not let us talk to him. She only told him we used it since last Fall (like we had used it alot) and did not tell him all the facts. Did not even ask him to come up. I told her they now owned this leaf blower, Home Depot lost our extensive business for life and walked out. What miffed me more than anything was not letting us to plead our case to somebody higher up. Never had anything but good customer service at Menard's or Lowe's when a substandard product. Skip this Home Depot location. It has proven over and over that it is poorly managed. I have had much better experiences at the Richfield location. Today's debacle was leaving irritated without the mulch I intended to purchase. Waited 11 deep in line at the garden center. My turn came and I asked for 25 bags of Earth grow brown mulch. Cashier stated she couldn't ring it up and wanted a pic of it? WTF? Never had that issue in every year I go there to buy mulch. What... go back out to the lot and take a pic of the bag, then get back into an even longer line? Nope, just got into the car, headed to the liquor store for some refreshments. I'll make the trip to Richfield HD tomorrow. they even load it! read more

Home Depot carries Hampton Bay lighting products. Hampton Bay was a reputable brand, but it seems they sold out to China. I bought 2 vanity light fixtures, not cheap ones either, and it was the biggest disappointment of any purchase at Home Depot. Cheaply made, badly designed, and most likely unsafe product. Each light fixture weighs 12 lbs & held by one bolt. I followed installation instructions, no parts were missing. I've read similar reviews, with same complaints about this very product. The fixtures are barely hanging on a wall, above my brand new expensive glass vessel sinks & brand new granite. If these fixtures come crashing down one day, there will be a lawsuit. read more

Just left the store. They sold me a ego mower off the floor today for $300. I had called earlier to verify it had the battery. The guy said yes. When I got it home... no battery. We called and talked to Jack who apologized and said we could bring it back and get a new one or take a battery out of another box. When I got there the service desk said that it did not come with a battery. But I could buy one for $150 more, $50 more than if I buy a new mower with battery?! After returning the mower, my wife called jack to get an explanation of what happened and some other guy said that he was a manager and talked with jack and that a new battery was never offered. They were polite in stating that they believe that we thought we heard that we could have a new battery. That was an unnecessary slam on a customer. Your staff screwed up twice. Don't take it out on your customers. Make it right. You lost our trust and have lost our future business. read more

This store is huge and has great products but sadly the employees aren't as nice and the garden has dirt all over the place and the garden is tiny but crowded so it's hard to get to something. On the inside the place is smelly around the hardware section. Overall, this place is average. No recommendations here from me. Sorry! read more

My experience was a positive one. While the store was decently clean and products here were easy to find, less than half of the employees here greeted me. The ones who did on my visit to the store kudos!! I was suprised that even the self checkout cashier never said a word to me. Let alone double checked my basket or anyone else's basket round me. Thank you goes a very long way when it comes to customer service. May get better ratings if your management is sound and trains their employees to greet every customer and thank every customer for shopping at their store. read more

This location should truly change it's name to discrimination depot. As soon as my boyfriend and I walk in (only people of color), one store associate begins to follows us around the store. We were looking to purchase a rug. When I stated out loud that we need to find an associate to help us get it down she suddenly disappears. Once I found someone to help us, he asked if we would get a flat cart for the rug. The same lady that was following us early appears out of nowhere, and says that we don't need another cart and to just use that one. Once the employee helped to load the rug in. The lady from earlier walks up to us and says that we need to leave the cart up front if we have anymore shopping to do. I told her that this was the only item we needed. Then she states that the check out is this way and points up front, and tells us to turn around our cart and go the way she wants. My boyfriend and I ignore her and just turn around in another aisle to go to the front. Then I hear her pages another employee to watch us at check out. These associates need to be RETRAINED on how to interact with customers. Although it was a small interaction you can tell the difference or someone trying to be helpful or someone trying to infer something else. As a side note not sure how someone can think we were suspicious as we just walked into the store, Other than the color of our skin which shouldn't matter! read more

Guarantees of completion times are just suggestions. Appointments with their installers are equally meaningless. They have no idea who answers their phones, so be sure to make note of names and times. Actual quality of the work & product - wouldn't know. Too fed up with their disregard for my time to find out. We've had two issues come about from products we purchased through this Home Depot. Neither were the fault of the store, but in both instances, Home Depot (specifically, Ryan, the Store Manager) took ownership of the issue right away and made things right. In my opinion, they went out of their way both times. They stand behind their work and their products. We will continue to give them our business because of this. read more

We ordered a special order piece and first of all, they don't have anyone working weekend or evenings that can help you and help out people that work all day/week. Second, we got it ordered and was told 3 days it would be ready, we got no phone call so I called 2 weeks later asking what is going on, the kid had no idea what was going on and told me to call back in the morning. We told them that we would be back on Thursday to pick up, he said yes sounds good. We arrived Thursday and it was not ready, said it would be a few hours as they didn't have anyone that was old enough to run the forklift, we said we would be back tomorrow afternoon (Friday). We arrived Friday afternoon and STILL not ready, sat and waited 45 min for them to get it together. Got home tonight and to find out we had everything incorrect in this order. Now at 10:00 at night trying to finish the project for a large party tomorrow we aren't able to and are sitting with a project half done and not very happy as this is a special order so it should have matched the order exactly. I am not very happy with this store I will be driving further to a different place from now on. read more

Just imagine registering for a do it yourself holiday marque workshop for women. It tells you to dress comfortably because you'll be making shit. You get all excited to have some you time so you get a sitter, one for each kid, drag your ass to Home Depot 20 minutes early. You ask where the class is and nobody has a flippin clue what you're talking about. Finally someone directs you to lumbar....... Nobody in lumbar....... You walk through the whole store until someone directs you to the training room 2 mins after the class has started. As you're walking with the associate, they ask you if your kid is already in the workshop ..... Confused you say no this is supposed to be a women's workshop.... They continue to ask if your kid has done any other workshops. Now you're getting ticked and reply " no sir, they aren't even old enough to talk ". He puts you in a room full of children and leaves. Wtf. So then you leave and ask customer service where the damn workshop is " oh the one for kids? " " um no, the one for women..... That I registered for and am now late for ". " oh yeah. It's at the paint desk, hold on talk to someone in gardening. They are a coordinator " " um ok". Coordinator: " hi yeah, the signs are already pre made and you just watch us show you how to do it " me : " then why did I have to dress in comfortable clothes to work on making one as the site said? ". So called coordinator " yeah that's not how a workshop works ". " not really but it doesn't matter. It's almost 30 minutes after it started anyway ". So F*** you Home Depot for ruining the one night I was going to get to bond with other women while making something cool. I was looking forward to it. Rediculous! read more

Do not buy from their online store. I have tried to purchase the same vanity since the middle of August 2016. The first one came in damaged, and the shipping company would not take it after I opened and inspected it. I had to load it up and take it back to the Burnsville store to return it. they gave me an additional 10 percent off and I placed a second order. This time, the receiving shipping company saw it was damaged and returned it without trying to deliver it. Unfortunately, neither Home Depot nor their shipping contractor bothered to contact me and tell me they shipped it back so I lost almost another week before I could re-order. I ordered for the third time on September 24th. It is now October 9th, and I called the shipping company to check up on it, because I was given a delivery date between October 3rd and October 10th. They told me there was a shipping exception, what the shipping exception vernacular means I have no idea. I just know they got something in on October 6th, and once again didn't call or email me to give me any update. I was working with a cabinet designer in the Burnsville store to get my kitchen cabinets, but I think now I am going to vote on their service with my wallet and buy my $15k of cabinets some place else. Anyone can take an order, but fulfilling it seems to be a problem for Home Depot. read more
