I bought a Frigidaire Range Infinite Switch from Appliance Depot more than a year ago and finally had a repairman come to install it today. (I usually wait until I have a full day of work for him each time.) Clearly, it is past their return policy of 30 days. I ordered online, but called to make sure I was ordering the correct part for my model cooktop. They recommended and sent the wrong part. So, I called today to see if I could send it back and get the correct part.* I wasn't asking for a refund. After speaking with a woman for some time I asked to speak with the owner. Don reiterated that I was calling more than a year past their return policy and that there was nothing he could do because he didn't know who I spoke with. It doesn't matter who I spoke with, it is his company and it's his policy. Reading the recent reviews it seems the current ownership/management has a few very unhappy customers. I'm one of them. Our fridge died last Christmas. Thankfully, we live in Mn! The outdoors helped keep our food from going bad. We quickly searched up and then decided on getting a new one from a small business. After our in store visit and finding what we wanted, with a better warranty and price than the big company offered, we paid. We skipped the delivery and haul away as we are capable and I wanted to give the community a chance to part out the fridge (appliance parts are $$$$) for no cost. Also made it lighter for us taking to drop off for recycling. Fast forward 11 months, we decided our washer and dryer had been fixed enough times and it was time to upgrade. Again, we found better pricing and warranty at Appliance Depot. Our 3 appliances are doing great. The one service call we made, for the fridge, was soon after the request was made, repair person was timely, and we had a laugh at the user error that prompted the call to begin with. Fast forward again, and we need a microwave. Likely a dishwasher coming up too. We will be going back to Appliance Depot! read more

Used to be a good place to go. Bought quite a few things from them. Not anymore. We paid for our new appliance in full. They kept telling us we were getting this great deal on a $1500 stove for $900. So, we bought it, and proceeded to take out our old stove. We went to pick it up and they then said it costs more and we can either pay more or not get the stove. What?!? I have a paid in full receipt! Ron blamed it on his staff, but she only did what Ron told her to do. When we asked about the change he snapped "take it or leave it!" We needed a stove as we already took out our old one! Seems to be a pattern. Ron, the owner, sold it to me himself. How does he get away with this as another review indicates they did this to them too. They told us when I paid for it that it needed two orifices and we would have to pay for two, when they then told us it cost more than what we already paid for in full, they said it was because they didn't realize it was a double stove. They charged us for the fittings for a double stove but didn't know it was a double stove?!? Isn't this a bait and switch scam???? Do not go here, they will scam you anyway they can. Worst Phone and General Customer Service Ever. Well the modicum of the customer always being right (or even being partially right) was never taught at this business. I tried to order a stove, over the phone, and felt like I was back in 1970. They don't take payment over the phone, even though most every store in the world not only takes payment over the phone, but by web as well. They surcharge the use of credit cards, and even then only take Visa and MC. And you are forced to take off of work, drive to their store, just to make a purchase. Come on guys, it's the 21st century - I can order most anything from my PC and even more so over the phone. As far as price, I have found several other retailers who do do business over the phone and web, and there was no price differential at all, so while they may be $200.00 less than Sears, they are certainly not less expensive than most other retailers. In fact, if you add up the time and gas to drive to their store and pay their delivery charge, take time off of work to accept delivery (no, your contractor can't sign for you, and I've never run across before with any other supplier) there is no savings whatsoever, in fact it's much more expensive. Lastly, don't try to discuss any of this with them. My first call was hung up when I started questioning why I needed to come into sign for the purchase. I was aghast. Hanging up on a customer, who had just agreed and committed to purchase an appliance? Had to be a mistake, called back and asked for the owner (he said his name was Tony - although below it says the owner name is Vincent) and when I suggested that he coach the person I just spoke with about hanging up on paying customers, I was interrupted and told that he was not going to coach his brother. I then was hung up a second time - unbelievable. I finally tried back a third time as I could not believe this was happening and reach Tony again, who this time did not hang up, but rather lectured me about how they don't accept CC because they were ripped of one time and yadda yadda yadda, Look, if your going to stay in business in this century, you need to get with the times. There are safeguards to transacting business over the phone, more specifically to taking CC orders over the phone. And most importantly you never ever hang up on a paying customer, even if you don't agree with their opinion. My customer opinion, while possibly not popular with the owner(?) was not rude or belligerent, and certainly not worth a hang-up. How rude. I wonder how an operation like this, that has these 70's style old New York type rudeness behaviors can even stay in business, let alone survive in a mobile and electronic economy. I will never do business with Appliance Depot, and suggest that others do not as well. read more

Hands down the best place to get any type of new or used appliance. After shopping several different store, I stopped at appliance depot. They were over $200 cheaper the sears and the best part is the service that you get when you walk in the door. They make you feel like you are apart of their family own business. they have everything from high end to college prices. I was so impressed by their service that I told them I would tell all my Friends. Plus Gabe S, just picked up a new washer and dryer and saved over $600. After visiting another appliance part supply company, I went to Appliance Depot to get help problem-solving my electric dryer that had stopped heating. Everyone, and especially Ron, was incredibly helpful and generous with their time. They never tried to sell me anything I did not need and were all very patient, even though they also sell a variety of appliance products and could have tried to turn my visit into an appliance sale. About two weeks ago, the handle on my fairly new Maytag dishwasher broke. Obviously, the dishwasher won't work if the door can't latch, so I started looking for a replacement part. I found the latch in a few different places, but the handle was never shown in the diagram or the photo. Long story short, I ordered the part from Sears after being reassured by Maytag that the handle would be included. It wasn't. I contacted Maytag again, as well as Sears, but no one could tell me where I might find a handle. They couldn't help me. I did a Google image search using the part number, and finally found a picture that showed the latch and handle together - it led to your site! I contacted you guys and was relieved to talk immediately to a real person. And not just any person - the person who would be taking, filling, and shipping my order. The shipment arrived quickly, the price was very reasonable, and - most importantly - the part fit! My experience with Appliance Depot was very positive. I installed appliances for people on the side for years, have a rental unit and am currently building a house on my own. The short and sweet of it is this, this IS the place to go to. You can run all over checking prices and service as I did years ago and it always led me back to Appliance Depot. They know their stuff are friendly and have that kind of service that's been lost on the big stores. I see there's a review here with one star telling you how horrible this place is, to me it's laughable how far off base this is. Trust me, stop in and talk to the people, you will not be disappointed. One more thing, if you're repairing an appliance you call them up and tell them what's going on they will know what you need and if it's worth fixing. Ordered a high end washer from appliance depot. Used credit card over the phone. Appliance depot accepted my credit card over the phone and it went through bank OK. Appliance Depot then told me they would not my accept card ( that was already processed through my bank) unless I drove to property (200+ miles to apt bldg) and prove that I am who I claim to be. Lady on phone had didn't seem to care about satisfiying customer as she pretty much hung up on me after I said to cancel. I buy a fair number of appliances and have never been treated like this from a buisness that give a darn. Go to Simons. Appliance depot already processed card OK. I've never had to do this and I use my card daily. I offered to fax my drivers license, a picture if necessary and a copy of my credit card. That was not good enough. I should not have to drive over 200 miles to prove who I am, especially after they already took my money. Never again. I've had great luck with Simons on Cahill, they didn't have a coin-op available. Try Simons before buying here, you'll be glad you did. Don't expect friendly service from their phone person. read more

Don't buy appliance parts from them unless you are sure of what you need. I bought an electrical part for my microwave and at the time the return policy AND invoice for the part both stated, no returns on "mechanical" parts. When this electrical part did not work in my microwave I contacted them for a return. They refused the return on the part even though it is not mechanical. The return policy on the website now conveniently states no returns on electrical parts. I would certainly hope that I was not sold a part that does not work and then refused a return. In the future I will pay a little extra to ensure the security of buying directly from the manufacturer. read more

Frustrated with all the new washers on the market, in Feb 2015 I went to Applicance Depot hoping to find something similar to my 30 year old Kenmore; the salesman spent a lot of time with me, explaining pros and cons of each machine on their floor. I purchased a used Kenmore which I paid for by check (!) and which they delivered and installed for me; almost six months to the day of installation, the transmission went out! I called and they did some troubleshooting with me on the phone, then had a repairman at my house the very next day. He replaced the transmission (original) and they honoured the 6 month parts and labor warranty they had offered when I purchased the used machine. I am very pleased with the every aspect of my interactions with this company and would buy from them again in a minute! They are honourable, upfront, and straightforward.
