I am a regular at this Home Depot location. I always need something for my many self DIY home projects. Today was a trip for paint and wood seal. I noticed that the Halloween decor is 1/2 off right now, all the yard figurines that light up included. This was a great time to grab some. After about 3 weeks of testing paint samples on my fence, I decided on a color. I went to the paint department and the best guy there, Christhian, was working. He was able to answer all of my questions about the paint finishes that I asked about. He knows a lot about the paints, I definitely value his advice. While he made my paint selections, I went shopping and pricing in the rest of the store. Plumbing is well stocked. I did have an issue with a 10-12'' metal piece and a fit through ladder blocking my cart in an aisle in plumbing. Several plumbers in the aisle watched as I struggled to move it out of the way; it was super sharp. Not one of the 5 plumbers (not employees but shoppers) in the aisle with me offered to help; no thank you guys. I ventured through the store and there is a black man employee with locks and glasses that always asks if I need assistance. He is always friendly, I THINK his name is Derrick but I am not positive. He helped me find what I needed to price. Overall, prices are definitely going up, especially on wood products. This was a great visit and I really like this location. I just wanna give a shout out to Ashley. She completely went out of her way to help us. Find the correct prize the correct photos. We're trying to get this garden going together and she was absolutely the best. She was actually hitting out of her shift, but she made it a point to stop and spent 15 minutes with us to help us out Ashley you are the best. I haven't been to this branch for like 30 years since I moved to Eastlake but this is my home depot in the early 90's when I build my room addition and family room in my old house in Paradise Hills. Today I was there because of the stocks thay I need to get. And one thing I noticed here one is the staff are always asking you if you need help, very accomodating, two the restroom is much cleaner than in a restaurant. the young fellow who doing it truly is doing a good job. read more

This review is solely for appliance delivery/installation. They use a company called Temco which has horrible reviews across the web. They installed my new washer and dryer. I bought the stacking kit which was not installed correctly. They did not remove the feet from the dryer or use the double sided tape per the instructions. I found out after checking since the units shook a lot. They also forgot the steam hose for the dryer. They get paid by how many jobs they get done in a day and it was very obvious. They were in a huge rush, resulting in a very poor job/experience. It's even more concerning since these are gas appliances and they didn't even check for leaks. read more

My husband ordered a power lift chair online with white glove service. . He is 74 and disabled. The chair was delivered via UPS. HOME DEPOT NEVER INDICATED THERE WOULD BE A THIRD PARTY CONTRACTOR!! The chair arrived 1/16/25. We assume it's going to be assume assembly will be done right away. Fast forward to today, the care is still not assembled and my disabled husband with severe spinal issues has nowhere to sit!!!! There was a DeWalt drill that was cheaper at Ace Hardware and Lowe's. I showed them the ad that I got in my email and they said they can only price match an actual paper ad that comes out of the newspaper. What is this the 1990 circuit city commercial hands-down the worst service I've ever gotten to Home Depot. The girl Monica took one look at me and said no we don't even price match our own website. The other girl, the counter said well I guess you should go buy it somewhere else. What kind of service is that? Just throwing money out the door by not servicing your customers and inconveniencing people. Completely disgusted at the low level service. Has a very horrible experience today! Tried getting assistance for blinds and both workers assigned to that dept weee unavailable? It should never be that way! Both were M.I.A. After waiting 20 minutes while other workers passed me by, one of them finally contacted the manager. He sent a frail sweet lady Marie who tried but blinds were extra heavy for her so I had to help her out but then a sweet young worker tried to help even though it wasn't his dept. After attempting to cut the blinds he messed up the measurements to the balance which is when all of a sudden the employee to the blinds dept showed up with a very rude attitude, made the younger guy nervous and was extremely rude to me saying they don't cut blinds anymore! Well it appears no one speaks to one another, suggest all cross train so that you, as a customer, don't get ignored frequently by employees who "don't work that department." After over an hour, I went to look for manager and finally gave up and walked away! I went to Lowe's and was helped out right away, they cut my blinds and all was done in less than half an hour!!! Yes, Lowe's still cut vertical Levolor blinds!!! So the 2 stars are for Xavier and Marie's willingness to help at HD but certainly not for the rest to include the managers read more

I had a water heater emergency on Sunday and went to this Home Depot to buy some hoses for my water heater. Unfortunately I didn't replace all of them with new hoses, as the one that I didn't replace started ro leak. I ran back to this same Home Depot and arrived 5 minutes after closing. There were several employees at the door to let customers out as I arrived. I explained to them that I had a water heater emergency and just needed one hose, but they told me that they closed at 8pm. All I wanted was a $1.50 plant on clearance without the drama. The one cashier in the garden section said it was a vendor item? and needed a tag that can be fixed by the manager. We waited for a while until a manager finally showed up. The manager told the cashier that it needed a tag, she didn't even look at the plants in my cart, and left. I was so annoyed and ready to leave the store without making a purchase. Thanks to Genesis, another associate/cashier, we didn't have to wait in line with the loud cashier again. Genesis opened up a register and easily rang us up. She deserves 5 stars. I didn't get the tagless $1.50 plant, but everything else I did. I don't plan on returning to this Home Depot. read more

Went here yesterday to buy some plants and encountered employees who didn't care about customer service. We approached a lady in customer service regarding a plant question and she gave us an "assumption" instead of a direct answer. She said she was going to call someone to help us and she did not. My friend found someone but they were very dismissive. Very disappointing since I've never had this at Home Depot as much as I've gone here. Get yourselves together! Also we asked about a couple half dead plants to see if it could be discounted. But they said since they have a year warranty they don't discount the plants. I ordered a WEBER GRILL March 13 Thursday, I avail the service for free assembly, but the associate told me that the guy who is in charge of assemble only works Tuesdays. They gave me the date March 20 to pick it up, and guess what, I came there yesterday and it's not ready and promised me that it will be ready today. I called today and waited 45 minutes, finally talked to someone named John, and of course ITS NOT READY!!! I need to wait until I don't know when. I order it in advance for a party I'm hosting this weekend. I can't understand why you guys are very careless about your customers. 725 Plaza Court Home Depot in Chula Vista rocks! I love how conveniently close this location is to my home. The entry and parking lot is wide open and available to no other retailers making it easy to come in and out. I have had several projects done at my home and will continue to back here for my home projects. The representatives are always helpful and the customer service is always on point. They have a variety of plant options that I get often. There's always at least two people working at the paint section, and the cashiers both at the exit for purchase and the customer service returns section are always available and willing to help. The other day I needed assistance with a return of an item and a purchase and I was assisted by Lyssette. Between her, her team members, and a manager I was assisted with great care and genuine smiles. I give this location two thumbs up and will continue to come her frequently. Thanks HD! read more

This Home Depot location off of H Street is full of employees who are either hit or miss. As I'm sure many of you know, one bad apple can ruin the entire batch, and this rings true for my customer service experience here. I was shopping alongside my mother for miscellaneous gardening equipment and was having trouble locating a specific bug spray. Two orange vests passing through the aisle were quick to assist our inquiry and let us know that the product we were looking for was only carried online. Unfortunately, I did not get their names but they were pleasant to speak to and carried their duty out efficiently. With that being said, our experience at the front of house was not what I expected. I rolled the cart up (with the four items we came to get) to the first available register that I saw and was met with Marco. I exchanged greetings and began to place my items on the register counter. I could tell that something I'd done completely irked Marco, as his body language changed and he begrudgingly scanned the items. He then asked if we wanted a plastic bag for the items we purchased, to which I initially said no. However, my mom inquired if the bag was free. This is because, in California, Senate Bill 270 banned the usage of single-use plastic bags in grocery stores and other similar establishments unless customers were charged a minimum of 10 cents. To some folks, this may seem menial, but my mother is a frugal and environmentally conscious person, and she simply reuses any plastic bags we end up getting on our day-to-day. Marco responded to my mom with a "Yes?" in a tone that was nothing short of demeaning. I took quiet note of that and proceeded to receive the bag but not before Marco audibly scoffed at the inquiry of my mom asking if the bag was free. After trying to get over the immense amount of disrespect that was being delivered, I saw the total price of the order and asked if Home Depot still honored their military discount. Marco then asked if I had registered to receive one, and in confusion, I had said yes, as I had thought he meant if I had registered for an account in general. He unenthusiastically explained that since I was not registered in their system there was nothing he could do. I find that I have somewhat of a decent level of tolerance but recognized that this employee was not capable of doing something as simple as servicing a customer with respect. It was at this point that I asked for a manager or supervisor to tend to the discount situation and even then he suggested that the manager would be incapable of doing anything about it. After a manager was called in, Marco loudly complained to the manager that "this dude keeps asking for a military discount but he isn't registered and I keep telling him there's nothing we can do but he won't listen." Miraculously, and within all of a few seconds, the manager provides me with the discount in lieu of not having yet registered for their verification in their app, explains that the verification system is a new process to make things easier for both the business and customers, and thanks us for our business. How simple was that. Marco displayed such a level of indecency and a lack of basic human respect that it's almost laughable. Almost. Thank you to the rest of the staff who were competent enough to help us out. As I frequent this location every so often, I'm sure I'll be back to let the general manager know this display by Marco was unacceptable on every level. read more

I have a mixed feelings about the services there. Some employees are super nice, some are not. The African American lady working in the garden area is very nice. She is very resourceful and respectful. If there is anything she doesn't know, she always makes sure to ask someone else who has the answer, which is very helpful. However, the elder caucasian lady at the checkout counter is not very nice. In the lumber area, there is a middle aged guy who works at the checkout counter was very nice and friendly, but another elder caucasian lady was not nice. I wish they each have an employee number on their badges for the customer to review their performance there. The loyal friendly ones should get rewarded by the company, the ones who are not so friendly should get disciplined. This way the overall customer service can be improved. read more

Marshals (specialty hardware), Perch, Lowes, Armstrong and Aztec will be my to go to from now on! Last year 2021, I bought a Christmas Tree that was unopened but marked down. I decided to set it up this year for 2022. The tree lights worked for only three days. I contacted Homedepot parts replacement, but they said they would replace the part and ship it soon. One week later- nothing! Email still states items are still pending! I contacted the parts group again, they said I would get an email containing my tracking information. Nothing again! So I contacted the store and spoke to "Charan" the store manager who indicated that I could not return/exchange the item as it has been marked down. No where on the receipts said final sale! I asked for help as I patiently waited for an unlit Christmas tree part. He said wait till Monday. It has been two weeks now. since I contacted customer service. I was proactive and patient. I think I won't be shopping and supporting Home Depot from now on. Christmas will be done- that window of opportunity for celebrating the holidays has ended. Maybe I won't even put up a tree next year just to benefit corporate greed. If I can return the 6 husky toolboxes, garden tools, appliances, and lumber , I would. This company just doesn't care about their customers. This was the last straw! Update, called customer care again. Items still have not shipped! And I will not get the part after 12/25. In June 2021 I purchased a Meshtec Security sliding door from this Home Depot (on Plaza Court). This type of door appealed to me because of the metal screen which my pets (dogs & cats) could not damage and it also provided added security. (Based on the ads for this door, it can withstand a bashing from someone using a bat on it.) Needless to say, this sliding door was expensive. I paid approximately $4900 with the professional installation included. This special order from Home Depot, Unique Home Designs (the vendor), and JDS Doors (the professional install company) was a complete nightmare. The installation was FINALLY completed last week (it's currently March 2022)!!!!! It took 9 months to get the job complete...complete meaning no more parts to order and no more install appointments to schedule. It has been a long 9 months getting to this point. UNACCEPTABLE! The communication between these 3 groups was severely lacking...with all of them pointing blame at each other. The first door that was originally shipped out (took almost 2 months because of pandemic supply issues) arrived with a damaged frame. (Sigh) Reordered another, which took even more time (Sigh). Then that is when the install nightmare began. JDS Doors didn't really know how to install this type of slider. Between their lack of expertise with this particular door and the endless parts that needed to be reordered from Unique Design Doors...you cannot imagine my frustration and growing anger. I had to leave work early on several occasions to meet with the installers on their time frame, just to have nothing done! To make the situation worse, Nicole from Home Depot who is in charge of special orders would give me misleading/false information. She often promised that she would make my door install a priority upon receipt of parts but when it came down to scheduling - it was always 3-4 weeks out. She also claimed that the owner of JDS Doors was an expert in Meshtec installations, which turned out to be false as well. This misinformation ended up delaying the process more. In the interim with all those blunders, Home Depot sent out a different install company just to add to the confusion, chaos, and mistrust to attempt to remedy the problem (they didn't). This goes down as the absolute worst order and install of a product that I have ever experienced. For 7 of the 9 months, I had an ultra-expensive sliding door that didn't lock because no one could figure out the mechanism. Instead of offering to refund my money; sending a Meshtech representative; or sending an expert from Unique Door Designs to get this done - everyone just continued to fumble along at my expense. Now I am awaiting some monetary compensation from this horrific ordeal. Of course, the store manager Josh M. is "working" on it and I am sure they are going to find a reason to give me a minimal refund. At this point, the damage is done...but it is all about recovery. Waiting to see how they will try to recover. Home Depot shouldn't advertise for professional install services if they cannot deliver. They should not sell products from vendors who have poor quality control and manufacturing issues. Home Depot should have better communication with their third party affiliates. All the while you have 3-4 dummies laughing ,joking and playing on their phones looking right at me waiting. It was dead too. They weren't busy. You lost about 12-1500 in sales. We found it after about 15 minutes looking for it throughout the store -- it was not in the Garden Center. Store associates were friendly and helpful. While most of my visits to this store are without incident, I recently had an issue that kind of blew me away. I went to the store for 1 item after stopping the wife off at another nearby store. I went in, places it in the cart, went to self serve, scanned, rang out with debit card and noticed the cost was far more than the item I had bought. It turned out that someone had previously scanned 4 items and then walked away before I got there. No big deal in my book. I brought it to the attention of the attendant at the self serve registers who then informed me I needed to go to the customer service desk. He said they could call him if they needed anything. The individual at the CS counter for no known reason had an attitude. After explaining what had happened, she didn't appear to understand the problem. I pointed out the 5 items in the receipt and only 1 item in the cart. I said the attendant stated they could call to verify, but the CS person wanted to walk over and appeared very out out. They asked,"Didn't you look?". Apparently, I should have noticed the items on the blank Home Screen when I got to the station. Self serve attendant confirmed what I had stated and CS person acted like I had caused the end of the world. I told them to simply take all items off and just refund me everything. They asked "So, you changed your mind about the...?", to which I replied,"No. you changed my mind.". read more

If i could give no stars--i would. This review is solely on the experience my family members had when going to this location, the paint department specifically. The 2 male employees were rude when my family members were asking simple questions and didn't provide any kind of help. They were given dirty looks and short answers like "i don't know." Is it not your job to help/ask questions when someone comes in? What type of customer service is this? It is completely unacceptable to treat your customers as such. I don't want to say it was due to race but that was the takeaway from my family members there. Please retrain your staff to display proper customer service regardless what age/race. read more

Today we finally made a visit to get the estimate for the dual security doors at the back end of our house. My mother was kind enough to give this as our Christmas gift. So, prior to making this visit today- Home Depot sent one of their contractor's to our home for measurements. This was done mid December 2016. The measurements were available 3 business days afterwards, but, hubby decided he'd like to wait for the both of us to go at the same time & choose the style of door. And besides, both holidays & our work schedules weren't working in our favor to make this trip together. So, here we are. We picked from 2 different styles (we really wanted to pick the style that matched the front security door).-- which was the style that cost $900. The other style cost $400. Now, this doesn't include the installation fee of $300. The sales rep at the door/ window department was forthcoming & even mentioned other features that can be installed for the back security doors. Door stopper? Bug liner? Yes! We'll take the bug liner! Well, since my momma was paying for everything (and she wasn't with us during this Home Depot visit)- hubby & I tried calling her from both of our phones. Since my phone didn't get service from inside HD- she called hubby back on his. But, the reception was so shoddy. The sales rep (dang, wish I remembered her name) was kind to let us use the land line & get this transaction moving. After all was said & done, we received our receipt/ paperwork & should be contacted for the installation w/in 3 weeks. read more
