Stopped in for a couple of plants and stayed about half an hour. Terra Bella is huge, and the selection is way deeper than what you get at the big box places. Succulents, tropicals, houseplants, plus a fair number of things I hadn't seen anywhere else locally. Prices were honestly better than I expected for a place that looks this good. What makes it work is the plants, the DJ, and the overall cool factor. There's a booth right in the middle of the nursery with a disco ball over it and music going through the whole space, so you're wandering rows of tropicals with a set playing. Selva Coffee House is inside too. Espresso drinks are properly made, the house syrups are creative without being gimmicky, and they don't charge extra for oat or almond milk. Seating is tucked in among the plants, so you're drinking your coffee in what basically feels like tropical greenhouse. read more

As a plant lover and coffee girlie, I absolutely LOVE this place!! The vibes are truly immaculate here! Terra Bella Nursery is huge and has a huge selection of indoor and outdoor plants. It also has its own parking lot that is exclusively for the nursery. The coffee shop, Selva, has no parking, and you must park in the street if you are only stopping for coffee. Walking in, you are greeted by fresh filtered air (thanks, plantitas) and music that includes the hottest hits. In the main part of the nursery, there is a huge disco ball that gives the place a groovy vibe while shopping. They also have many pots, soils, gardening tools, nutrients, and lots of other accessories to keep your plants cute and healthy. The plants are the typical price that is normal in San Diego, which is a little pricier than other areas. It could be hit or miss with the customer service, but overall, this is one of my favorite places in San Diego. It is so serene and fresh that I love coming here to clear my mind. They obviously specialize in plants native to the area, but you can also find a few tropical and more "exotic" plants in their indoor section. How have I not written a review for Terra Bella before! So it's one of my fave spots in San Diego and I'm so excited to have one closer now with their new Del Mar location. Terra Bella has such a welcoming space and it's a plant paradise. They have so many different types of plants, but also a full coffee shop within the nursery that has great drinks! There's little tables for you to drink your coffee surrounded by so many green plants. We saw people playing board games, reading, working, and hanging out with friends. I ordered the Bee Yourself and loved it! They have cute little things to buy like keychains, cards and more. They're also known for their Selva nights, where they have coffee, mocktails and live music on the weekends! I have been wanting to visit this nursery for a while now and so glad I did! It's a massive indoor and outdoor space with so many different plant species, including indoor and outdoor. What makes this nursery unique is the coffee shop Selva Coffee House and the music playing throughout. It's not just a place to buy plants, it's an experience. I made sure to grab a coffee before leaving. They also serve alcohol and are open late for a night life experience I want to try. I've been wanting an orchid for a while now and they had plenty on display and I found the perfect pink orchid. They offer repotting services. The associate that helped me, Miriam, cleaned up the roots on my orchid and put some fresh bark/moss in there. She was so kind and helpful. I do wish they sold orchid pots (the kind with the holes in them). All their plants looked healthy and well taken care of. I definitely want to come back here. read more

Tiny, micro plants to massive trees for purchase. The nursery is massive. There's 3 major area indoors to explore: flowers, plants, cacti, and succulents of all sorts of varieties. You'll be surprised to see a large cafe attached the the nursery with all sorts of drinks to choose from. They also sell pastries so you can make your stroll through the nursery complete with drink and snack. They also have a food truck out front with MORE food options. My monstera was in rather poor shape, so I took it to Terra Bella, prepared for the worst. The entire vibe of the place instantly put me at ease. Justin and Mason gave it thorough looking-over, offered to assess its leaves and roots and to repot it in new soil for me. After expertly doing so, they refused to take any money for their troubles! We ordered coffee and food from Selva coffee. We were told to take our receipt to the truck outside. The truck said 5 minutes. They then proceeded to serve everyone ahead of us food. When we asked about our order they tried to make us pay again. And said they had no order under the name we gave. After serving yet another customer they finally gave us food. We proceeded to get our coffee. No text, no calling our name. After some time we asked for our coffee, they had put it under Daniel instead of Andrew. So our coffee was melted. No apology. We actually passed by this place after exiting the freeway and before getting to the inn that we were staying at and it IMMEDIATLEY caught our attention. Super neat art on the outside, attention grabbing sign, huge building and just the vast amount of greenery outside. Since it was already the evening the cafe portion was closing up and we were going to go out to eat later, but you bet I would have ordered something there if that wasn't a variable. We came during the holidays so there was a spot for Santa too and they do pictures during the weekend. There's an outdoor section of the nursery as well as an impressive indoors section. HUGE balls of vegetation hanging from the ceiling, huge palm and pine trees, love the wall of propagated plants. So many flowers and the variety is so cool to see here too. Tried to check this place out on a Wednesday or Thursday afternoon while my mom was in town, but no luck. First, the location is kind of awkward and inconvenient. I'd been wanting to visit because I always need more plants! You really have to be paying attention getting there because if you miss the turn, you're on the freeway. When we turned onto Jefferson, the small parking lot already looked completely packed, with people trying to maneuver in and out of spaces. Immediate red flag for us. We are absolutely not the "squeeze into a small parking lot" type. We're the "park in the farthest spot in the lot, enjoy the extra steps, and stroll past the people stalking someone loading groceries and children just to save 8 spaces" type. It was obvious street parking was going to be the move... except there wasn't any. I was honestly surprised it was that busy on a weekday afternoon. Good for them, unfortunate for us. We ended up heading to a different nursery and buying our plants there instead. read more

TERRA BELLA NURSERY AND SELVA COFFEE HOUSE - PAIRED REVIEWS I was on a mission for plants and coffee this morning with a destination in mind, and Terra Bella and Selva Coffee House delivered! Parking in the ample lot was a breeze this early (9:15am), but I know that later in the day, it can get quite busy and a little chaotic, so plan accordingly. There is also a Burrito food truck in the parking lot which was cute, but I did not try it. Maybe next time! As I walked into the spacious and cavernous building, my eye was first drawn to the small orchids to the left of the entrance. Then I wandered past the coffee shop and through the building's offerings of both indoor and outdoor plants. I don't really have much of a green thumb, but I do love plants, and I wanted to get a few that would be happy in my classroom. I consulted Chris and he showed me a variety of plants that would be happy indoors. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. I decided to go with a trusty spider plant and a very cute pink princess. I hope I can keep them alive! (We put them on the counter so I could order my drink.) After looking at the plants, I wandered back to the coffee line and waited to order. I went with an iced kickflip (mocha, banana, espresso, milk - $7). The ordering process took no time, but the queue for drinks was lengthy. It took about 20 minutes for my drink to be ready. The good thing is that they do have a screen that lets you know where you are in the line and when your drink will be ready, so you can look at plants while you are waiting for your items. While I was waiting for my drink, I went back to the plant counter, paid for my plants, brought them out to my car, and then went back to wait some more... There are a number of cute gift items for sale in the coffee house area, and they also have TONS of cold beverages in several refrigerators. They have some unique selections, and not just the usual stuff that you see everywhere. I didn't order any of the bagels or baked goods, but I did buy a little notebook as a gift. My drink was tasty and what I was hoping for. Sweet, but not too sweet. Coffee, banana, and mocha flavors were on point. This was a fun little visit. The nursery is well organized, and both the nursery and the coffee shop are decorated in a cute and unexpected way for Valentine's Day. Coffee shop prices were comparable to other specialty coffee shops, and the nursery seemed mostly reasonable if a bit pricey, but for the service, options, and experience, it is definitely worth a visit. I come here all the time to look around after getting a coffee and the connected Selva. But as a separate company they deserve a separate review. This nursery has a very wide selection of plants and flowers it can be overwhelming sometimes but in a good way. I don't know much about plants but the workers are very well informed and easy to talk to for any advice or information. I've gotten beautiful orchids from here; right now there doesn't seem to be any but that's okay because they have a wide variety of other plants. They have cats here and I always treat them like a scavenger hunt to find. Today Pickles, the all grey one, was walking around and he was very nice to pet and greet. Today I got 2 plants for only $30. The cashier was very nice. Usually when they see me holding my coffee they apply the 10% off discount automatically but she didn't this time but that is okay. Overall, great price for plants and many to choose from. They have a massive selection of plants. The place is very organized and clean. I came here with my family for two consecutive days. This nursery is heavenly. The green colors evoke feelings of happiness and the colorful plants are joyful. The employees are very welcoming and knowledgeable. The prices are incredibly reasonable. You see the box trucks posted throughout the county and I finally made a visit. The unfortunate reason we made our visit is we said our final goodbye to our beautiful bulldog. My friends said they'd like to gift me something for our grieving. And they were kind enough to make jeweled headstones in our garden. We have separate flower boxes in memory of our beloved fur babies. After our morning cup of joe at Selva- I had our youngest bulldog, Macho along for the field trip. I know he's grieving the loss of his sister and I couldn't just leave him at home. Peter immediately wanted to say "Hi" to Macho. And from that moment- I explained to Peter why we made our visit. Porkchop- our first bulldog's flower bed was overgrown and neglected. I showed Peter a picture of what was in Porky's flower box and right of the bat- "Dietes Bicolor ". Peter was so knowledgeable! He explained each height available and I went with the highest one. There were two varieties- white or yellow. I called hubby to measure the flower box on speaker phone- and Peter knew how much Royal Gold Planting Mix I'd need- specified the task at hand. That HUGE bag of Mother Earth Perlite was a DEAL! For $50- I had to grab it IMMEDIATELY! Peter even pointed out to the shelves next to the cashier how a puny lil bag of perlite was $20 and I got the ONLY bag (at that moment) for such a deal! I noticed that huge bag of perlite propped against the wall by the cashier with no price tag. So, when you know something's a DEAL- you better snag it! I forgot to use my 10% discount from Stelva's receipt at the nursery. But, $107 for the items I needed was a great price, nonetheless. read more

I stopped by Terra Bella Nursery looking for some indoor plants but honestly, I usually kill everything I bring home. As soon as I walked in, the peaceful atmosphere hit me. It's such a serene, calming space, full of greenery and quiet corners that made me want to linger. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They asked about my space and lighting, then pointed me toward a Hawaiian Pothos which they claim is easy to care for and beautiful. I left feeling more relaxed than when I arrived, and actually hopeful that maybe this time, I won't kill it. I'm so glad a location close to me opened. We stopped in to take a look-see since I finally made the time and it's been on my list since they opened. I was pleasantly surprised at the organization, cleanliness, openness and the incredible variety of alcohol-free bevies at the cafe (totally not plant related but I was happy about that.- just sharing). The plant store with a little something for everyone- interior and exterior, big or small, pots, cute gifts for your favorite plant lover. There's a beautiful plant filled seating area with a great breeze to relax or sit and enjoy your coffee and sweet-treat. I had questions about a specific plant and I found Nico. Nico has great plant knowledge and was super helpful. I really appreciated his time and knowledge. Terra Bella is Italian meaning beautiful land. This nursery located in Midway next to freeways, junky rough surroundings is an oasis of plants. There's free parking in their lot. Upon entry you can't help but notice the towering Pandanus Spike plant, which is available for purchase for $35k! As you meander inside and throughout, you'll surmise that the structure might have been an airplane hanger of sorts, given it's height, space and not too far from the San Diego airport. Plants of various sizes, indoor, outdoor, climate, humidity, water dependent or not can be found here along with other gardening supplies and tools. The layout is easy to navigate even with a child or pup in tow, my furbaby Fendi loves exploring and admiring all flora, which was all visually spectacular. After looking through the inventory on display, many caught my eye but did notice many items to be too pricey. Unless, you're not in a mood to chase down lower priced plants, trees and you just gotta have it, I'm sure you'll find something special in this jungle oasis. No staff member offered to help, with the exception of the cashier who was informative about the $35k Pandanus Spike Plant which is massive but impressive. The cool dance music playing in the background made the plant shop experience fun and entertaining especially if you're sipping your coffee and or match drink while shopping for plants. I have passed this place numerous of times when driving into San Diego. because we needed a gift for my mother in law, we decided to stop by on our way back home. We were there on a Saturday afternoon and the parking was crazy. Luckily, we found a spot because someone was walking out. Street parking was full so that was out of the question. So be patient when visiting. The nursery itself was huge. I was immediately transported into a jungle with all the foliage and flowers throughout the space. The neon signs and disco balls throughout the store made the visit that much cooler and fun. There was a huge selection of succulents and some rare ones so I def had to buy those. Prices were great too. Not too expensive as other nurseries I have been to.
