This local nursery is not only the best plant material destination but all accessories too! They don't get enough accolades for their customer service and in service education! The nursery is easy to navigate and well stocked! Plenty of lot and free street parking too! The prices are fair and they offer coupons on your receipt to use at another time. I hope they stay for years more!

I've found a variety of lovely, drought tolerant plants at Walter Anderson over the years. The selection is huge and sections are clearly marked. I can always take my time there with no crowds or sales pitches yet always find someone friendly to help when needed. Prices are also reasonable, though I do wish there was a discount area.

Welcome to decision fatigue....if you love plants. This place had it all, there were so many plants to choose from. I ended up in the tropical section and yet found myself swept over to the bonsai trees they had. And yes, I ended up buying both types of plants. The service was friendly and knowledgable. There were plenty of hands on site and I have to say those little wagons they give you are such a nice touch. This is like the Costco of plants. I will come back and shop when I have more $$$ to spend on plants but for now this will do. They have house plants, outdoor plants, garden specific plants, wall plants. I say if you want to start your garden off right come to the Walter Andersen Nursery.

Walter Anderson Nursery is a great for all your need on plants & gardens, trees of all kinds..large section in Flowers, and Roses and succulent My favorite place here the parking inside is small and hard to get in and out here. But the is outside parking that's easy on street. Today I had a gift card and I picking up a Japanese Maple..My favorite trees But very temperamental it's going a Large Pot..it's hard to keep in the ground. I love the varieties of their roses here absolutely beautifully blooming right now..their fragrants are heavenly and gorgeous colors It so relaxing here for me to walk around here. I could spend a few hours and not know it..Come see for yourself it's a great nursery and everyone is so helpful and knowledgeable and friendly too

Walter Anderson Nursery is very well tended to and clean. Store plants are healthy and service is great! The value is good. Pricey but the staff are knowledgeable and take good care of the plants. I had a lot of questions about Monstera indoor roots and found they gave good sound info on how to take care of my house plants

Not as good as their Poway location. This Walter Anderson is located in an industrial area that's not far from the seedy midway district. The parking lot it small in both number of spaces and parking space size. If you have a truck or suv it might be tough to park in their lot, let alone navigate through it. You can park on the side street but make sure you lock your car and hide your valuables. Selection is good and they should have the type of plants you're looking for. They're thin on succulents and cacti. Personally, I'd much rather go to the Poway location. - Not the most helpful when it comes to service. - More expensive here than at Poway which is weird because they're the same company. - Crazy busy here on weekends. So expect a long line at the cashier. It's the only nursery in the city of San Diego area.

I'm so glad I came here, both Richard and Kathleen was so nice and I can tell they hurt for me to. Kathleen said the person should of never told me to get that spray that made my plant look like this

Great nursery with a good supply of plants and pots, soil, etc. But their hours stink for anyone with a job. 8 to 5 is ridiculous.

I love their succulent selection. And their native plant selection is decent. Their rose offerings are great, too.

It also has its own parking lot that is exclusively for the nursery. The coffee shop, Selva, has no parking, and you must park in the street if you are only stopping for coffee. Walking in, you are greeted by fresh filtered air (thanks, plantitas) and music that includes the hottest hits. In the main part of the nursery, there is a huge disco ball that gives the place a groovy vibe while shopping. They also have many pots, soils, gardening tools, nutrients, and lots of other accessories to keep your plants cute and healthy. The plants are the typical price that is normal in San Diego, which is a little pricier than other areas. It could be hit or miss with the customer service, but overall, this is one of my favorite places in San Diego. It is so serene and fresh that I love coming here to clear my mind. Stop by if you are ever in the neighborhood.
