Home Depot on W117th in Cleveland has the worst appliance delivery service! Don't buy any appliance there, you'll be sorry. I paid for removal of the old one and installing the new refrigerator and they left the new one in my driveway and refused to bring it in the house. I've been here so many times that I thought I had already reviewed Home Depot. I bought a new Showerhead from Home Depot in July 2025 and it has worked well since then, almost a year later (present day is May 2026). I visited the store again in May 2026 to buy a plastic container/pot to put my Lily plant in as the plant was growing and to buy some soil (potting mix). I needed some help finding the right soil but no one was available to help. It was a bit frustrating but nothing major. The woman working the cash register couldn't leave her position and she didn't know much about soil types. She asked me to wait for help if I wanted to. I waited for about 15 minutes until a staff member showed up. He was very helpful and directed me to the right soil/potting mix to buy. I found a plastic container on my own and bought it along with buying the potting mix. The garden center is big so I was surprised that they were not adequately staffed. Infact, an older woman needed help putting 2-3 heavy soil bags into the trunk of her car but no one was available to help her. I started helping her by putting 1 bag of soil into her car until 2 men (not an employee) entering the store took over and helped her. One star is too generous. I buy a Samsung washer which includes delivery, installation and haul away of old washer. Delivery is supposed to be between 1 and 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 15. I stay home all day so as not to miss them, just in case they are early. They don't show up. I call and discover the count the washer as delivered with exceptions. It was delivered to this store but damaged. You think anyone bothered to call and tell me that. NO! A new washer is order to be delivered Satursay, March 22. They show up, bring the new washer in but won't install it. The feeder hoses brought are only 4 feet long and won't reach the shutoffs. Use the old hoses already there I tell them. NO. They leave but don't take the old washer with them. I weigh 105 pounds and I had to uninstall the old washer, drag it out, push the new one in, connect feeder hoses, discharge hose and plug it in. I HAD TO DO THE INSTALLATION! And get this--they took the new feeder hoses with them. This is the new normal for Home Depot. Sell an expensive, heavy apploamce and leave the work to you.​ read more

Terrible rental experience. We reserved a cargo van and then 12 hours before we were supposed to pick it up we got an EMAIL, yes an email stating that our reservation was cancelled. Honestly, this has to be the least helpful Home Depot ever. I've been here twice since moving in a month & a half ago, once for supplies for my new apartment & a second time to get my key copied. The first time I came here with my dad, we needed to pick up a couple things for my toolbox as well as rent a moving van and carpet cleaner. Once we got inside, we couldn't find a single person to direct us to where we could find the items we were looking for. We ended up having to search the aisles ourselves. Once we got over to the rental area, the attendant was very rude to my dad. Not in the sense that he was mean, but more in the sense that he had no interest in helping us get what we needed. He was stern in letting us know we had to return the moving van by a certain time that night, which we understood, but somehow his tone came off as condescending. The second time I came here, it was to copy my new key in case I ever lost mine. I went to the key station, but it was vacant. An employee was standing a few feet away and I stood near the key station with the expectation that she would call the right person over.. NOPE. What felt like a full 10 minutes went by before I went up to her and asked her if there's someone who can help me with my keys. She said she would reach out to someone, AND THEN DIDN'T CALL ANYONE. I was shocked. I had to go searching through the store myself to find someone who could help me. So unprofessional. read more

This review is solely based on us trying to get our new kitchen faucet installed. We picked out a new faucet (no one asked us if we had any questions they just sat at their chairs). I asked if they could install it for us and what would be the cost. We were passed off to an older man, who was supper nice but couldn't work the computer. He asked a younger man for help who answered his question and quickly ran off. The quote we got was better than all the places we called on our own so we paid for the faucet and the install. This was on Friday. Sunday rolls around and we still haven't gotten a call about setting up our install. So we called the store to find out our contact number was wrong. It was right on 2 of the 3 times he enter in. So we got that fixed and the women said if we didn't get a call in 24 hours call back. Now Tuesday, we called the store twice today, once we passed around to 4 different people no one could tell us anything. The second time we called we couldn't get anyone to answer the phone. We have called the corporate install number and there was an automated message that said plumbing installs are no long available in our area. Then we called customer service which wasn't anymore helpful. At this point we are don't know if we will ever get our faucet installed. Also no one could tell us if we could get a refund for the $100 we spent on the install in the first place. Overall you can say I'm disappointed and will not be using them to upgrade our kitchen this fall Update: after another call to customer service and complaining we cant get anyone at the store to help. The lady at customer service got the store manager to give us the install people number and she set it all up. It took a week (long time not to have a kitchen faucet) the install guy was great and nice. But we will never use Home Depot for an install ever again!! read more

This was my Home Depot of choice when I lived in cleveland. It's Home Depot. They have everything and even more online. They will ship to store or your home. I will say the staff at any HD is a little more hands on than Lowe's. Just my opinion. This Home Depot is good. Bathrooms are clean. Store is clean but it's a gigantic hardware store so. Staff always stopping to ask if they can help. Cash register people always friendly. Again I gutted a house off West 117th and visited this store as much as three times in one day. I generally agree with other reviews of Home Depot--it's usually hard to find an employee when you need one, and when you do, they might not be able to answer your question. On the 4 occasions I have visited this particular store, however, that rule has been busted wide open. 1. Every time I have been wandering around, there have been friendly employees to greet me and help me find things. 2. The tool rental department is outstanding. There is a guy there named Rock who was of particularly specific help to me. I am in the process of refinishing a hardwood floor for the first time, and Rock happens to be a 28 year veteran of that business. He got me set up with the right tools, gave me some really great pro-tip advice, and was on the other end of the phone when I called to ask his advice. Instead of spending $3500+ on the 5 rooms I am refinishing, Home Depot is helping me to git' 'er done for under $1000...That means so much to me, and I'm so pleased that I don't feel like a total newb lost in the woods after speaking with Rock. 3. The folks in the paint department were also very helpful when it came to choosing a polyurethane and stain for the floor, as well as giving good instruction on how to put the stain down. Nuff said, if you live in this part of town, make the Berea Rd. location of Home Depot your bigbox DIY store of choice... Unfortunately, I have to somewhat agree with the other yelper, Scott D. For the most part, I try my hardest to shop locally for what I need, but sometimes you just need to grab a few things quickly in one stop. Well, last night I needed a circular saw... and it was Sunday at about 5PM. Needless-to-say, I needed the saw quickly before all shops closed up for the day. Home Depot definitely pulled through with 1) being open and 2) having the saw I needed for a great price. Hello, $39! Other than that, the visit wasn't so great. I wandered around looking for the saw and eventually, I found it myself, without any assistance from anyone else. I then proceeded to stand there, staring, hoping that someone would come over and give my some advice on the saws, differences between models, tips, anything! Well, after standing there for a really (really) long time, someone did end up helping me--but it was another customer! He was walking by and told me he had purchased the same saw I was looking at and it worked great for just your everyday, typical home projects. That was all I needed to know and that guy's advice was the only reason why I ended up buying the product. He even gave me other tips that really helped me with what I was working on! I then scooted to the self check-out, making about 15 middle-aged men stand in horror as I frolicked with this circular saw through the store. What's sad is that I was in, helped and out without any interaction with an employee, although I could have really used some. I will also say that in the past, when I was "helped" it was by people who had no idea how to answer my questions. I wish they hired people who actually knew how to do projects and could give you real world advice on how to tackle your home improvement ideas. I've literally asked 6 different employees the same question and got 6 different, confusing and wrong answers. *Sigh*, what a bummer. read more

From information to the products to just general store knowledge itself. It would be nice if you guys actually got back to hiring people in the know.. Best home Depot store (Berea Rd Cleveland) around! I started out with the new guy that was just hired, Antonio, great employee. He couldn't answer my question so he immediately got me someone that could help me. I ended up dealing with Jim. Again another great employee! He took the time and talked to me for a while about what I was looking for and what I needed, and it was like talking to a friend. Jim helped me out getting what I needed and at the right price. Everyone in that I had contact with in that store, including my cashier Val, we're just wonderful. We ordered carpet from Home Depot, and told the sales associate that we had a cardboard type flooring on top of the wood floor, the associate said it was ok because their latest promotion includes free "floor tear-out". We took a credit card out to purchase the service and carpet, and we had a quoter come to our house, where we explained to him that the top level stuff had to come off because it was old and deteriorating. Now the install guys come and say they don't do flooring, and they only pull up carpet, which isn't mentioned in the sales flyer given to me, and it wasn't mentioned by the two store associates (one who came out to our house to do measurements). It is fraudulent they can put whatever they want on flyers and quoting sheets and not have to comply with their own promotions, which specifically says "floor-tearout", what would you think? And this flooring was supposed to be installed within their guaranteed 72 hour time frame, which won't happen now also. Worst company to do business with, the managers couldn't give a rats ass, so I filed a complaint with the Ohio Attorney General's Office. read more

I have spent a lot of time at this location since I bought a house last year. There are some pros and cons. Pros: 1. Credit card, with free interest on purchases over $299. There are different levels. 2. They always have what I need, for a good price. If they don't have a item, then will tell you what store closet will have it. Only had to go to another Home Depot once. 3. They have a great return policy. Never have had a problem. They always made me happy. (I work retail so this is a big deal for me) 4. Great deals! Cons: 1. Their garden center. The flowers look wilted and not taking care of. They need to deadhead. Also when you water flowers, you should water them at the base not just over head. 2. Employees instead of saying that they don't know about a product or have advice about projects they just lie to your face. I was sold wrong stuff and my parents were sold wrong stuff for projects. I always like to come prepared, or I just google it. Not all employees are like this through. Home Depot is my second home. You should make it yours too. You walk in needing one thing and come out with a cart full. Pros outweigh the cons for me. read more

Honestly ive never had a problem at home depot but i have a wide experienced background in home repair so i dont generally need any help. On the other hand i have tons of problems at lowes. Home depot also sells returned paint and carpet remnants which is really handy. Idk if Rick B still works there but he's always the right guy to talk to. read more

MY ROOFING EXPERIENCE. When I got the estimate for my roof with Home Depot I was initially impressed. The representative came to house on time, he discussed what Home Depot would provide for me. He also said I could even pay my bill using Home Depot cards & earn fuel perks from Giant Eagle. After getting a few estimates I decided to go w/Home Depot. Their estimate was a little higher than the other estimates I received but I felt like I could trust them to do a good a job & if anything wrong with the installation, they are Home Depot they would fix it. I called the rep & told him I decided to let Home Depot install my roof. He scheduled another appointment to go over the paperwork & he said all I needed to do was pay the 25% down, sign the paperwork & that will start the process. I went to Giant Eagle I got the gift cards that represented 25% of the estimate & I went to Home Depot to pay my account. The cashier at Home Depot couldn't find my information in the computer. I called my rep & he said I had to wait till I met with him to sign the paperwork. I said ok. The next day I met with him we went over the paperwork I signed it & I told him I got 25% in gift cards to pay the downpayment. He said to wait a few days Tuesday 7/18/17 for them to enter the information into the computer. I said ok. That I would get more gift cards & will pay balance off when the job was completed. Then he proceeds to tell me that in order to take advantage of the Giant Eagle fuel perks of the full price of the roofing job I would have to pay the entire balance off when I paid my bill. I couldn't pay a little at first & then make another payment with gift cards I would have to pay w/another form of payment. He never told me that before. I was a little mad about that. So I went back to Giant Eagle to get more gift cards that represents the total amount of the job. I got a call on Wednesday from my rep that I needed to pay my bill before they could proceed. I went to Home Depot after work on Wednesday 7/19/17. I went to customer service I showed them the paperwork with my information & I gave them all my gift cards. The cashier still couldn't find my account. In fact when she entered my information someone else's name popped up for a lawn mower repair. I had to call my rep & he said that he gave his boss my paperwork & that it should be in the computer for her to try looking up my information via my phone number. Still she couldn't find it. By that's time I had been there for almost an hour, and I had plans for the evening. The cashier called my reps boss & she had to take my information over the phone. So the cashier read all my gift cards one by one to the boss & she wrote down the information. After she got done w/the phone call the cashier gave me back my gifts cards just in case anything went wrong when they tried imputing the gift cards in the computer. I left Home Depot thinking ok that was a lot of money but this should start the process towards getting the roof installed. Two days later I get a call from my representative & he said his boss said that their was a 2nd layer of tiles on my roof that they have to charge me more for taking that off, that he didn't charge me for the dumpster, & that he was off on measuring the size of my house so they will have to charge me more for all that. Now I'm mad as hell. They haven't even started installing the roof & there are all these problems. Now it looks like it will end up costing way more than the initial estimate. God only knows what more they will find to add to the bill once they actually start installing the roof. I'm actually terrified that I won't be able to afford what they will try to charge me. This is ridiculous. Now I'm also starting to wonder if this is all a scam & if maybe they've done this to other clients. #SUPER DISAPPOINTED read more

August 9th I went to this store and sat down with the person I thought knew something about flooring but I guess he was just the dude that sits in the seat at the flooring desk. I took a sample piece of engineered wood flooring and said this is what i want but in a darker color. Mr. #knownothing says ok I'll order everything you need and long story short 11 days later I get the call that the order is in. I go to pick up my order and the "customer service" rep says here's your order and its shrink wrapped to a pallet with banding on it and not one employee I asked could cut it open for me. I wrestle these boxes from the pallet to get them home and realize my order is wrong. The material was not even close to the sample piece that was referenced. I called the store and kept getting passed to someone else so I just waited to talk to someone when I was able to get there after work at about 4:30pm. What was surprising to me was that i asked to speak to the manager and he just blew my off over the phone with the worker who was helping me. So I explain to a few employees what happened and when they realized who ordered it they thought it was funny as if it was a inside joke that he always orders wrong. I asked these employees to speak to the manager and they tell me he left the building so they call the next person in charge and as the story is being related they present it to her as if I ordered online by myself and I did something wrong. She basically says you're on your own and hangs up. I now have to hunt this person down and after explaining to her for 5 minutes what happened she reluctantly offered 10% off. So at 6:30pm ( 2 hours later ) I have a new order that will hopefully be here by September 2 which is 25 days later and a 10% discount on a floor that was almost double the price of the first order because the original order guy Mr. #justsittingthere#knownothing quoted me the wrong price also. My bride got the last plant available that we went shopping for. They are out of the shelf pins that I sought - at least the size I need. Often the on line available quantities are way off - likely due to ignorant customers who just put items anywhere. Although UI have found at times every bin or hanger loaded with the same sized item. I guess it looks better than an empty spot but it makes finding the correct item difficult. read more

welp....... i came here with my photos to get a perspective from someone with experience. when walking to the plumbing isle a guy is stocking... we ask if he's the plumber in an inquisitive tone, he said not really.... we kept it moving.... we then are referenced by an employee to speak with joe or sunny...sunny was tied up and joe was the guy who said "not really".... we tried again w joe and he had the fckn nerve to say im not a plumber so i wont bs u, and began to refer me to sunny... i fckn told his ass maybe be wanna let the staff know not to refer ppl to him.... the attitude was sold and super disappointing. read more

i shop at home depot alot, i do alot of handyman type jobs and i paint. i'm working down the street from this home depot, on a bathroom to be exact. my customer wanted to change the vanity top in her bathroom, i checked out a couple stone places that didn't seem to want to help with my 48 inch vanity top (vanity is between 2 walls so i needed a custom size) i ended up ordering one from their kitchen and bath department to the tune of 550 bucks with the sink. i waited 2 weeks for it, they called said it was in but the backsplash i had ordered with it came off the truck broken. so i get there kinda pissed i have to wait another 10-12 days to finish this project. the lady brings out my custom countertop face down on a skeezy metal cart. no cardboard or box just a thin layer of plastic on it. scratched the crap out of it! and one of the side splash peices was broken and the other had a chip on one edge and a color flaw on the other. so nothing was usable backsplash wise and the counter (which was black) had very noticable scratches on it. this is the worst home depot i have ever seen no one gives a shit about doing a good job there the managers hide out and there are just complete idiots working there. why would you take something that has almost an automotive finish on it and put it right up against some rusty jagged metal. thanks for waisting 2 weeks of my time w 117 home depot you suck! read more
