I ordered a lawn tractor for scheduled delivery and received confirmation. 12 hours before delivery they called to say they could not deliver for 10 more days. They expected me to acquiesce and accept this because they "didn't have a truck to deliver it". After pressing they refunded my money but not the warranty. Is the real reason could not deliver because they sold the product I bought to someone else? Why cant they refund the warranty. These guys are crooks! Stay away and don't patronize them. read more

Understaffed. I Asked for help finding something, I couldn't find myself, to an associate wandering around and they said they "couldn't help me but would page someone" whom never came. After 15 minutes I walked the aisles and watched and counted 5 employees on their phones, not digital scanners but personal cell phones, and we're standing around. I love Home Depot! I could spend a fortune in here. This location is located in the Sandhills shopping area. I feel safer at this location as oppoosed to Lowe's as there was some riff raff the last time we were at Lowe's. We purchased window blinds that needed to be cut to a custom size. I can't believe the delivery process. They gave us a four hour window 2:30 to 6:30. Showed up before 2 and left No phone call or nothing! We tied up a whole afternoon waiting the time given only to find out after 6 calls to the store and 8 calls to the delivery number that our washer was rescheduled because no one was home. Lies!!! We were home before 2:30 and never left! Store personnel basically said "oh well maybe they're on the way". This was at 8 and at 8:45 delivery number was voicemail full!! Come on Home Depot!!! I have taken to making this Home Depot (Sandhills/forum location) my go to location for home improvement needs. They have had all of the bbq-ing, drilling, portable torch, miscellaneous items I've been looking for and generally have enough selection for me to make a choice between reasonable items. I've run into a few issues looking for items relating to lawn care (mostly chainsaw and weed whacker accessories). Looking for chain saw gear, while their selection of chainsaws was good, the kit to go along with my new chainsaw was fairly limited. They didn't seem to have the weed whacker parts I needed, but it turns out that they had reorganized everything and made it really confusing. read more

This is actually a two-part review, because I've had very different experiences from the store depending on what I buy. For straightforward home improvement goods, Home Depot is a pretty good store. If I need screws, tools, paint, lumber, or other simple materials, I can find what I need in their wide assortment. The size of the store makes it hard to find help sometimes, and also can add lots of "search" time to your shopping trip if you don't know exactly where drawer pulls happen to be in the store. I'll rate that side of the store at 3-4 stars. I have gone to Home Depot looking for appliances twice. First, we needed a washer and dryer when we moved into our new home. Second, we needed a new over-the-range microwave when ours broke down. The first experience was unimpressive -- we had to look over the available models ourselves, then physically search for a salesperson to sell us what we'd chosen. Her attitude was very disinterested, but we did buy the machines and had them delivered/installed. (They managed to install the hot/cold water hoses backwards, which confused me quite a lot for a couple weeks.) When we went looking for a microwave, we were again alone in the appliance department for 20 minutes, looking at models by ourselves. After making a decision, we found the salesperson (the same who had sold us the washer and dryer). This time, she was not only disinterested but downright unhelpful -- she stated the model on display was not actually available for sale, unless we paid a $65 "special order" charge for the $250 microwave. (This was whether it was delivered to our house, OR to the Home Depot store for us to pick up. Incidentally, it's also the delivery price if you buy the microwave from the homedepot.com website. If I'd wanted to buy my microwave online, I wouldn't have walked into the store.) Throughout the few minutes of discussion, the employee's attitude was very bored -- she showed no interest in actually convincing us to buy the microwave, and acted like our desire to give the store money was a huge inconvenience for her. We certainly didn't want to make her more miserable by actually buying anything! My advice is to completely avoid this Home Depot for appliance purchases of ANY kind. And considering the availability of standard home repair goods at the many other hardware stores in the area, I'm not going to bother anything from Home Depot. Bad customer service isn't worth my money, and it won't get them a good Yelp review either. read more

Bought a putting green for $399.00. Thought it should be a fair price. Been a customer at Home Depot for a long time and had always found their prices fair. We looked online at the brand Starpro for installation instructions and found they were selling the exact same item for $245.00!! I contacted them to see what they could do about price matching and they since Starpro was a wholesaler then they can't do anything about it. Also I bought a dishwasher a couple of years ago and had Home Depot install it and now the screws had come out of the counter top and I can't open the dishwasher all the way or it will tip everything out! They said that since it has been over 3 years there wasn't anything they could do about it. Will start going to Lowe's I guess. It's closer. read more

Purchased a $2k washer/dryer set from this store. On delivery, the dryer, and both pedestals were damaged. Delivery folks packed it all back up and took it. This is all after being given a 4 hour delivery window which they then showed up almost two hours early for which caused a hassle with work to even get to the house. Two phone calls and four people later after I spent 20 minutes on hold and the delivery guy spent 30 minutes on hold and I'm waiting two hours later for a call from a manager. This is the WORST customer service I have ever received given the amount of money spent. If I have my way, they will be keeping their appliances and I'll be going to Lowes. read more

My wife and I have had a terrible experience with the Columbia, South Carolina Home Depot located at 285 Forum Drive Columbia SC 29229. We ordered a washing machine and dryer that was $1000.00 on July 3, 2019. We were told that the washer and dryer would be delivered on July 9, 2019. When the order was delivered, the washer was crushed and damaged. We were told that due to the damage, the company that Home Depot uses would reorder our machine and we would hear from them within 2-3 days. Well, the rest of the week went on and we did not hear from anyone. I called the Delivery Company and was assured that the new order was placed but when I spoke with Stanley at the Home Depot, he told me that no one placed the order. The new delivery date given to us was July 25th, 22 days after we purchased the machine. This is unacceptable. We spoke with with the GE Manufacturer, the delivery company, and Home Depot to see if there was anything else that could be done to expedite the delivery since the order was never put in during the week of July 9th. We were met with condescending and rude speaking by Flossy, the manager and was told (TWICE) that Kevin would call us back but he never did. We were waiting for weeks to receive our machine and had to wash our clothes at the Laundromat several times after we have spent 1000 on our own machine because (1) the machine was damaged and (2) no one reordered a replacement in a reasonable amount of time to cure to defect. After explaining this to the managers at the Home Depot, they did not care, they did not convey a sense of urgency, or a sense of understanding and merely offered nothing to compensate us for our inconvenience. The manager was rude and asked me "so you just want some money", which completely missed my point. No we were not looking for "free money", we were asking for someone to understand that the issue. We will NOT be purchasing from HomeDepot again. read more
