I just finished a 4 month remodel of two bathrooms. Home Depot service used to be great, special even. Now it's awful. Many staff aren't informed about their job. They can't help you. A man in the paint department said he's not good at color. I asked if there was blue tint in the sample he was making and he said he didn't know and he didn't how to look it up. He said the color was pink and asked why I thought it had blue. I told him it looks purple. Nothing like the pink I asked him to make. Today I waited nearly 15 minutes in the paint department for someone to arrive. 10 of those minutes the phone was ringing non-stop across the way in customer service. I was calling to see if I could get help. I watched customer service standing around talking to one another, not answering the phone. So, I walked over and asked if there was someone who could help in the paint dept. They said someone would eventually come. I asked if he heard the phone ringing, He told me they don't even hear it anymore. I pointed at my phone and said the timer shows I've been calling for over 10 minutes trying to get help and there are 4 of you chatting here. I left it ringing a few more minutes until someone helped me in paint. I was calm and polite and so disappointed by what Home Depot is these days. I don't mind waiting, as needed, but no one is helpful. No one seems to care. I bought tile, flooring, paint, and so forth. I started driving to Lowes in Albany so I could get better help. I don't want to commute for this. My next project is a deck. I won't be working with Home Depot. read more

An employee was called to assist with cutting 3 simple 1x1.5in boards and was very snarky about it from the beginning as if I had caused such an interruption in her day. She kept repeating that she could only cut feet off, which I repeatedly told her that I understood, and after unreasonable attitude from this employee, I asked where the handsaws would be in the store to purchase. Before informing, she repeated that she thought that hand sawing my rather thin boards was a BAD idea and would take a very long time--to which I replied that I had time. She kept repeating her opinion again and again before leading to an in-store handsaw station and recommending that I actually just buy completely different boards so that they didn't need to be cut. I told her that I already had the boards in hand which I DID WANT and she told me again that she could only cut off feet. I was tired of this interaction and just had her cut off a 1-foot section from two boards, and 2 feet from another. Only one of the 1-footers was actually 12 inches, the other was 30cm. I ended up purchasing my own hand saw for remaining cuts. My visit was otherwise fine, but I see no reason for this employee to give such attitude and snark to customer simply asking for boards to be cut--a service which Home Depot is supposed to provide with ease. The employee was a dark-haired woman with a ponytail... slightly older. The handsaw I purchase works great! A fantastic item to own so that I don't disrupt any more Home Depot employees by asking them to cut wood. read more

I spent a bit over $8,000 for a remodel due to a flood all things Home Depot. The biggest expenditure was quartz. A BIG mistake over $4000 initially plus $1000 after the fact. The stainless sink they brought was minimal stainless and scratched immediately. I have owned only stainless and what they purchased was CHEAP!! I have continually found fault with everything Home Depot, cheap to say the least. Be reminded not buy a plastic tub dishwasher, they melt! I paid $195 as a suggestion by the order taker, for chip minimizer. She sounded like she knew what she was doing? Guess what it does not cover a chip made prior to the one year installation. She send me the warranty now (?) I am waiting as to why recommend. I live on the coast, everything was extra $200 trip charge, $200 as the quartz slab was oversized. They did not credit me for the 24" x 32" they cut out for the stove? Frustrating to say the least. Big Corporation taking advantage. The contractor got a kick back that is why they use Home Depot... ABSOLUTELY DO NOT allow these folks to recommend "ordering" or "placing an order for" ANY goods. Nothing is in stock: You Cannot Get It if it is not in stock; it NEVER comes. You may get an email informing you that your order has been cancelled a month or more after placing the order. But at this point, THEY HAVE YOUR MONEY and they may not be willing to give it BACK. They keep calling now, months later, asking for my personal information over the phone. They won't simply refund the card NOR will they mail a refund check. The store manager is...unable to give a refund without me being physically in this store, so I suppose we will spend the $30 in gas to go visit with him for my refund on some caulk. I came to exchange a quart of paint. Started painting. When I got to the bottom is the quart you could see yellow. It was not completely mixed. I Bought it Friday, today is Monday. The woman in the paint area said that it was mostly gone. I explained I started painting and didn't get to the yellowish part until I got to the bottom of the quart, and I tried to mix it in as best I could but the color came out more yellow. She said she could make another one for me, but, I would have to pay so I showed her a picture and she said ok. I bought two other gallons of paint at the same time. Too bad there isn't a Lowe's closer. In the end they didn't exchange it. They offered to reduce the cost. Terrible service. I let them keep it. read more

Packaging almost non existent and what was provided was shredded. All my contractors were onsite and ready to work, but had to be sent away on my nickel. Customer support refused to provide any assistance, nor provide a refund until they are picked up. Carrier (to allegedly pick up) never called and I'm out over a grand while the trash sits in a pile out in front. Neighbors hassling me about eyesores. Went into Home Depot store and customer service guy just laughed. Said it happens all the time, but that they were a separate entity and couldn't help. Can you spell L-O-W-E-S? DO NOT HIRE THEM FOR FLOORS. I paid them $15k to put wood floors in my house. They said it would take 4 days. We are now on day 11 and there is no end in sight. They don't show up for work. They miss every deadline. And if you call to complain, they hang up on you. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. I've lost thousands of dollars now in extra rent and days taken off work. Spend the extra money to hire someone competent and honest. UPDATE: On Day 14 of the 4-day job, I got a text at 3:35 am (on a Sunday) from the installers saying the job was done and they were leaving. I went over the next morning to find that there were several pieces of baseboard either missing or broken (pictures below) and they had not reinstalled any of the doors. I bought 2 x 6 of different lengths to replace the top of my deck. First: 2 x 6 x 16 ' were in the top rack. Plus, the rejects were in the front. Good pieces were stacked in the back. We asked and staff removed the front rejects so we could pick some good ones. However, we were still dealing with the top rack. Six plus feet high I had to climb up and pull pieces down. I'm 75. Don't put the heaviest things up top! Think! Second: the quality of the lumber was awful. Dimensions in both height and width varied. End to end. Not a flat fit. Side by side. Not a flat finish. I returned some once and could have done it gain. Rather than make another trip, I ended up having to shave joints so 2 x 6 would match end to end and side by side. Mostly. The mill who made these should be ashamed and the person who purchased them for Home Depot needs to learn his/her job and pay attention to what is acceptable. The low quality of wood added hours to the job - in the hot sun. And today I got a 10% off coupon. Missed by 4 days. Other types of lumber may be good quality but the 2 x 6's purchased were low quality demanding more work. read more

Great people work here. Friendly and helpful, and often go out of their way to make sure you are finding what you need. Be careful about allowing them to contract any work on your house. They will likely send a subpar contractor while at the same time screwing up with delivery of hardware. read more

Anytime you see an employee they immediately look away or at the floor and scurried another aisle. Service has improved here, communication between staff is better so that any random person who approached me was able to quickly contact the most knowledgeable person for that department. Almost immediately the right person was there. Today (2-11-23 in the afternoon and again early evening) woman helped in the fastener department. I had to exchange a BBQ grill today. The first person I encountered at customer service was rather rude about my whole situation. Telling me I had to bring the whole BBQ inside (one of the nobs was broken and I had just purchased it last night). I have had nerve damage on my left side due to a spinal cord stroke and I have cancer and am currently undergoing treatment. So she informs me to take it to the landing dock and get it unloaded. So I finally find someone to call for help for me. And he os talking to the other employee about how he has already worked his 6 hours today and something else, like taking the BBQ out of the back of my truck would be a big deal. He helped get the BBQ grill out of the truck, and I rolled it all the way down to customer service. Now during this time nobody offered to help me. I was obviously struggling. I didn't realize how hard it would be. Thankfully the girls who helped me in customer service this time made up for the terrible lady who helped me the first time. These girls were awesome. More like how I am used to Home Depot being. Dont complain about how long you've been at work, your breaks, or any of that in front of customers. #2 I don't care how short staffed you are, no need to be rude to people who don't know how your story does things. Purchased a washer from Home Dept October 3, 2021 with a mid-October delivery date. Washer arrived damaged and was refused. 2nd washer was delivered 6 weeks later and was also damaged. The driver cancelled the order instead of marking it refused so the whole order had to be redone and was scheduled for a December 2021 delivery. Then Home Depot rescheduled the delivery to late January 2022. Home Depot offered monetary compensation for the inconvenience. Then they pushed the delivery to February 2022. Because we couldn't wait any longer we wanted to cancel the order and they voided the compensation. For their gross and avoidable incompetency and horrific customer service from the appliance dept and the store manager we would never purchase from Home Depot again. Really Home Depot? $100 would have been a decent gesture for our aggravation but that was too much for you? read more

I bought a house 11 years ago, and as a single mother, and full-time worker, I have been slowly remodeling it. Therefore I have spent a great amount of time in HD over the years. I have found over the years that at the Corvallis store there is only three people employed there that are truly helpful. Bruce, if you need help in plumbing or hardware, Gina, for electrical, and Tom, for everything else. You got it; if you need help in gardening, plumbing, electrical, lumber, hardware, flooring, bar b que grills, power tools, etc, He is the most helpful person by far. He goes above and beyond to assist every customer to the best of his ability. It never ceases to amaze me how customers will stand in line for Tom's assistance. Home Depot you have a rare jewel in your presence. This man deserves a humongous raise, because whatever you are paying him is definitely not enough. I noticed that he as well as a few others are wearing "Coach" badges now. Where are the managers, the guys who make the big bucks, hiding while these few individuals are doing their jobs of training all these young people, who don't have a clue of what real work ethic is? 5 Stars for Tom in plumbing. read more

Normally I hate Home Depot. It's a big scary confusing place. I usually wander around lost until I either give up or someone takes pity on me and asks if I need help (which usually takes a while). But this has to be the most friendly Home Depot I've been into in my life (and I've seen plenty, I just sold our house, so we were either there or Lowe's almost every week). I've already been in 3 or 4 times and each time someone is there to ask if I need help finding something, willing to go out of their way to show me, etc. Even gave my little pug some treats last time I took him with me. I came in the day after Black Friday, killing time before seeing a movie down the street. My mom and aunt were hopeful that some of their Black Friday deals would still be in-stock - we were shocked to find that they were, even the next day. I can always find something to buy in EVERY store I go into: I found an amazing deal on a freezer, but didn't have a way to get it back to Beaverton....hm.....what to do. One of their associates helped me call around to the stores near my home to track one down, and got them to hold it for me until my husband could zip over and pick it up. I was really impressed with her service; I wish I had gotten her name. While the service was great, they seemed to be very heavily staffed on this particular day - I was asked if I need help finding something about 12 times in the 20 minutes I was in there. Ordered flooring and installation only to receive many, many phone calls, texts, messages, etc., from both Home Depot and their installers Romanoff flooring. They did not coordinate supplies or installer in a professional or timely manner. Workers did not arrive to install floor until 11 a.m., they were not wearing masks as they arrived at our front door and were incredibly rude and lazy. First, I have no issues with the products. My issue is with the second rate installers they select to do both. My kitchen install (12k) was a mess with GMA. Then I had a new front door installed (2) and it was stuck shut from the beginning and took 3 months to get it resolved (Craft Doors). Then we bought a new washer and dryer and the deliver company actually installed the hot and cold lines backwards. I had to then move the dryer (I'm 57) and then fix it myself (2K). Then we brought over 12k in hardwoods and the installer (Romanoff) can't even get an install date confirmed so I have 50 boxes if hardwood sitting in my family room while they try and find and installer. My advice, avoid Home Depot like the plague and find someone else to install if you want quality and responsiveness. Corvallis needs competition in the home improvement area. We need a Lowe's. read more

When I come to Home Depot, it is because I have a project to do. It's not to hang out. I usually see a group of greeters talking amongst themselves. I suggest moving these employees to the back to help customers instead....and spend a little time learning what products are in the store. Don't get out the phone and use the find it in the store app...I can do that myself....faster.
