Wilco has extremely reasonable pricing for dog grooming. They have always done an excellent job with my pups both in Salem and in Corvallis. It took two girls to get my big dogs nails trimmed (he hates this process) but they get it done and done well. I love the way he smells when he comes home and he stays soft for days! The undercoat treatment was amazing on my son in law's Shepherd. It helped reduce hair so so much! Highly recommended! read more

So Wilco is a store like another store I shop at. It's actually a good store and I would recommend it for people who have small and large animals and pets and who like to can. There is a lot more there. Now the customer service could use some work a little work. I've been upstairs a couple of times and never seen anyone up there. But others than that it has a wide verity of work boots and clothing. I would recommend putting this on your list to check out read more

Responded to their Mother's Day flyer. Note the upper right corner on the first page. "Prices in this flyer are good for 11 days". Directly below that an offer of 20% off 10" or 12" premium hanging baskets. But whoops! When at the counter told the discount is only for Mother's Day - May 14th. Please note that in spite of the "prices in this sale flyer are good for 11 days" notation, the 11th day (Mother's Day) in the very small top right corner is in red - therefore the hanging baskets sale is good only on Mother's Day - because the ad is also in red!!! Terrible wait times today. Long lines. They finally got a second cashier after everyone was in line for about 10 minutes. Some people were holding heavy bags of or several items in their hands. Probably about 8 or 10 people in line in groups. The guy in the animal care isles was great though and helpful. He was fast offer help and get an item from the case The cashiers up front are slow and they don't have enough help till the last minute. I put all my stuff up and left. I handed my frontline back to the guy that got it from the glass case. Put my animal vaccine up, took my kid out of the cart and left. As I was leaving the young little stick lady working the cashier is so dumb to piss me off more by saying having a nice day and looking at me or checking that I didn't take anything as I was packing my child. High prices too! Pathetic! Poor selection and inventory. The clothes section kind of lacking in selection and sizes. Feel sorry for anyone that has to shop here. My previous experience here was good. I will never go back to this store. Terrible service! read more

Staff is super nice they let me suspend a transaction cuz I forgot an item and with all this chaos it was such a relief to have somebody looking out for us! Also their bulk section is spectacular especially if you're vegan they have vital wheat gluten and yeast at a great price! read more

After a few trips to the grooming department my experience has been that regardless of the instructions you give the groomer, they still do what they want instead. This leads to having my dog sit through more "corrective " grooming and making it a longer wait. The staff, all be it polite, are very firm about doing it their way and not the customers. The nails never appear to have been dremeled (at least enough). I'd like to have an experience where the customer gets exactly what I asked for. After all, i am the one paying and tipping in the end. read more

I have been really happy with Wilco every time I have gone in. The employees are very friendly and helpful, and the selection is amazing! I was very impressed by the honesty of the employees telling me that they could special order the item I needed, but I could buy it cheaper online. I also REALLY admire what the company did when they came into town. They bought Denson's rather than running them out of town, and offered all of their employees jobs. I had previously left a tip that I had a much better experience here with pet grooming than at Petco or Petsmart. That was true a year ago. I just took my dog again. He is a lab, he's a good boy, excitable because he's young, but he knows his basic commands, but finds it difficult to listen in new and exciting situations when people encourage his excitement. I guarantee you, most dogs are like this, and the average dog has not been bothered to be trained by its owner compared to mine. He's never bitten anyone. Most people who meet him love him. First, the groomer, Jennifer, lectured me repeatedly about how I hadn't been there for a year. He didn't need it. He has a self-cleaning coat and we don't take him hunting. I'm disabled. She's not a vet, she's a groomer. I said he wouldn't like having his nails trimmed, but he's never bitten anyone. We have never been told he has. We come back to get him and she calls him a biter. I said what do you mean, bite? Then she shows me the smallest red mark on her arm I've ever seen, similar to what I've done running into my own furniture. $10 charge for that. I'm sorry. A real DOG BITE requires a report to animal control. That's why the rabies vaccine is required. I'm sorry my dog didn't love having his nails trimmed. Maybe she shouldn't have handled his paws so roughly, because no one else has ever complained. When we do it at home, he doesn't like it, but we are patient with him, use rewards, and he never bites. I'm sorry she feels she was bitten by a sweet lab who was tied to an apparatus and she was probably mistreating. She deserves it. God forbid a dog with actual aggression problems comes in. read more

Called for appointment for grooming. Asked what I needed to bring with me. Proof of Rabies shot was all. Turns out, tags with dates and vet's name is not proof, found that out when I got there. Hmm. Had to cancel appoint. Bummer read more

Have been mostly pleased with the service until our last visit. Our dogs just had dental work and while they were "under" their nails were dremeled and anal glands were expressed ($25-$30 extra). When I brought them into Wilco a few days later for grooming I said they didn't need this part of the package and asked if there is a way to just do the basics. They said no, they can't change the menu and I needed to pay full price which included nails. OK...understood. So I asked if instead of nails and glands, could they take that same time and do more brushing out? Answer was no. I get it...staff is under strict orders to not color outside the lines but geeze, they need to know what customer service means and what its worth. I'm not going back. read more

Do not take your dog here for grooming!!! This was the worst experience we've ever had at a groomers. Granted, we've taken our dogs here a few times before and stopped because of the horrible service and attitudes of the groomers. However, we needed a quick groom before the first of the month. At our last visit we got a call saying we needed to pick up one of our dogs right away because they wouldn't stay in the kennel "quietly", so we rushed back to get her. Upon arrival instead of having her in a kennel, they had her tied up. The next day I noticed my dog had bumps all over her back, I can only think it was because of the stress it put on my dog or the shampoo they used. The grooming experience for our other dog was fine, however when we went to pay we saw a "rush fee" added because of our first dog... We will never bring our dogs back here. Learned our lesson too many times. read more

I travel a lot and I know Wilco stores all the way from Vancouver to Salem. I took the opportunity to visit the Wilco store in Corvallis. I know Wilco prides itself on being an excellent store, but this store really beats all the others in terms of cleanliness, stock order setup and having the right things in place. I got lots of ideas from this store. I even bought what I needed for my shop and it was so orderly set up..the screws etc. Keep up the excellent work! Great customer service! I was looking to buy some cardboard boxes for moving and I couldn't find any. The employee told me that they didn't carry them, but he told me to wait and he would go check on something. He came back with a bunch of boxes that they were just going to get rid of and gave them to me, free of charge! Friendly staff that go out of their way to help people are hard to find these days.
