It's time to update my review based on several recent experiences. I order stain for my fencing on-line and arranged to pick it up rather than having it developed. The delivery date was later than my "need by date" and that is why I opted for a pickup. The items were prepared for pickup within an hour of placing the order. What was most impressive is the assistance given at customer service. The first experience the customer service rep was concerned that I would have a problem getting a 5 gallon bucket into my car. And he offered to bring it to the car. That was going the extra mile. The next pickup was yesterday. Angela was the Customer Service rep and she was a delight to work with. She was high spirited, on point no professional. I took her picture even though she said she didn't like what she saw! A good sport. read more

The most unprofessional Homedepot employees I have ever encountered. I rented a box truck from this location for 1 day, went into the store for this order. As I finalized my order with the customer service desk, I asked how much I would be charged per hour if I brought the truck back after the 24 hour mark. I was told I'd be charged an hourly rate of $29 for each hour over the 24 hour mark. I used the truck to move to a new house, upon my arrival which went over by almost 4 hours, I was first asked if I wanted to keep the truck until the next day, I declined and explained I did not wish to do that because I did not want to get charged for 2 days. I was very confused why I was suggested I keep the truck for the rest of the day. I was then asked to pay for another 24 hours, so 2 days in total. For the record, I arrived before the 4 hour mark and the young lady who assisted me did not scan me in until at least 15 minutes later. When I asked why I was being charged so much, I was told that at the 4 hour mark, It automatically constitutes a full day fee. I asked repeatedly for someone to show me that on the contract signed the day before. No one, not even a supervisor could point to that verbiage on the contract. No one could confidently explain why I was being charged for an entire 24 hour period when I arrived right before a 4 hour mark. I paid a little over $300 for a move when I believed this would be the most cost-effective route over one of the other big name moving companies. Came in here last second to grab some supplies but this is not my home store. They need more parking but made up for it with great service by Jamie who personally walked me around the store to help me grab the 3 things I needed. I know my way around a Home Depot but this place was packed and I was in a major rush so I really appreciated the help. She is an absolute gem. The store is a little hidden. You have to be looking for it or you will miss it. This Home Depot is smaller. The layout is different, I thought. I found it to be well-stocked and the employees helpful. This is probably going to be my new store. I liked the place. I needed help finding things and I had questions. I liked that every employee I asked for help, gave me the right directions lol. They knew where things were. The staff was approachable. I found plenty around to ask what I needed. The Christmas display looked beautiful. It is one big display. This was one of my favorite things here. The trees all looked great. It is an area to check out. The parking lot is small and it gets crowded here. The place does need a bigger one. read more

I still don't like Home Depot. Every time I walk in, I remind myself why I don't shop here. It's unorganized, dirty and there's never anyone around to help. I walk up and down the aisles like a deer caught in headlights. There is no one in the store that even wants to help. I find myself walking up and down the aisles, findng everything but what I need. I came for a specific type of cleaner, that I bought here before. I looked all around, couldn't find it. Finally, I found a young man who had a Home Depot vest on, I assumed he worked here. I asked him if he could help me find this item, I even had a picture of it on my phone. He just starred at me and pointed to an aisle and said it should be there. Small location so not a lot of the items found at bigger Home Depot stores. If you need emergency items hood place to come to. If need specialty items it's best to drive to a bigger Home Depot store or to Lowe's. Very difficult to get anyone to help. Managers are great helping tho. read more

I hate to leave a one star review. but the horrible service has compelled me to do so. Id say every time I shop at Home Depot the sales associates intentionally try to avoid you and never make eye contact if you do find an associate their general knowledge of the department they are working in is below average. There are 2 out of 10 associates that at least try to help. The other 8 who do nothing to assist the clients are pretty much better off not working at all. Ok, I was heading in to look for a new electric stove. Was a little distracted by their aisle of clearance Christmas stuff! Today everything was 75%. I saw someone eyeing a large lawn snowman with lights for $32. So I wandered through this aisle and saw some tall lit trees for $100 and less. Jackpot, I need a new tree and decorations for next year. This year, we were away and was tired of our tiny tree. Out I went to get a flatbed! Found someone to load my trees and decorations onto the flatbed and off I went to the register. Didn't even make it to the back for appliances. Often I peruse this store with no one stopping to ask if I need help. Today, I stopped someone and asked for assistance and they were very helpful. read more

My mother is a 70 year old woman and was struggling in the parking lot for about 30 minutes trying to load her car. No less than 6 different employees walked past her and never looked her way. There are a lot of good Home Depot's out there. It's a great place to be when you need help as they seem to focus on hiring cheerful and helpful people. The Deerfield location is no exception. I was in the other day to grab a multitude of things. I had a list and knew roughly where to go. But in my experience it can save a ton of time to ask specifically where stuff is. for about 7 different things I asked somebody where it was. Each time, the person working that area(or sometimes wasn't even their area), helped out completely. Sometimes walking me right to the item. After I payed I noticed an issue with a price one one thing. I went to customer service expecting a surely person working there(I know that gig would wear me down). Instead there was a very cheerful and helpful gal there, I think named Shaneka. She walked me through everything and even offered to hep on the price issue in the end. I left with a real positive vibes as it was good an experience I have had shopping. its not the closest location for me, but I plan to go here often. read more

Ordered some flagstone online, came in a few days later, went tp pick it up, told this isn't a hd number (I had the hd order form, they still told me it wasn't an HF part/order number ) finally after Telling them to cancel it and give me my money back, the found it (90 mins later). Two days later, had my wife try to pick up some type m morter, she was told they don't carry it (online showed over 200 bags). She was told to go to Lowe's... so we did. read more

I have never received better customer service at a Home Depot until this experience. Our stores in CA do not have this level of outstanding customer service. From the second I walked in I was welcomed by a cashier named Marlene and it only got better after that! Laura in electrical is so good I nicknamed her guru. She went on their computers and printed out the parts I needed to order online because they weren't carried in the store. Herman Gonzalez in plumbing saved me from potential plumbing disasters with his guidance. Larry Black in hardware took his time to help me figure out why my door hinges were giving so many problems. The team at this specific Home Depot are total rock stars! I have never had better customer service in my life than what I experienced here. I cannot say enough good things about this Home Depot and their employees! I only wish we had the same level of people who cared in CA. read more

This one is for the mustachioed paint guy. Asked how far a quart of paint goes...he just stares at us. Asked which paint is best, he just points at the pictures of paint on the counter. Says, "pick one." Okayyyy. After we looked at them, and read the descriptions to figure out which was the best option, this exemplary person had the nerve to TAP HIS FINGERNAILS on the counter. Out of impatience. He could have asked questions or made suggestions. But, no. He decided to look over our shoulder at the people behind us. We said, "Are you in a hurry?" He blustered, "ugh, no, but people behind you are waiting." Mind you, he could have guided us with a suggestion. Instead he decided to spew his rudeness on a Sunday afternoon. When we picked the paint, he said, "well, that's not the right brand. I'll have to color match." Cool. Maybe instead of rat-a-tatting on the countertop with your drumsticks, you could have said that in the beginning. I don't know what his problem was, but it looks like he wanted to create more by being rude for no reason. read more

Another not so fun fact about this location is even if you buy an item from another location with a credit card - without a receipt, at this location, despite it being a Home Depot purchase - they are unable and unwilling to issue a return for your money back or a store credit even. The poor management of this company overall continues to baffle me at how little they care to care for their costumers who keep them in business. read more

I have been trying to get a key made for 2 weeks and every time I go in there they're either making a copy of a key that takes ONE HOUR. No key should take an hour to copy. Or while one key is cutting how about using the other machine to move the line along, Nope and you are rude for even suggesting that we work harder! is their answer. Dear Taforey Anderson, I came today August 24th 1015am to your Home Depot Store in Deerfield Beach to have copies of my keys made. I was approached by your Asst Manager Dave, in a rude and arrogant manor while I was waiting for my copies of my key. I walked in to your store by carrying my 10 year old Bischon Dog; she is all of ten pounds. While I was waiting for my copies to be made I put my little dog between my legs. Please note this dog is a service dog, which documentation can be provided. Your asst manager approached me by yelling at me and not even having appropriate conversation to put my dog on a leach and to continue to threaten me by leavening the store immediately if I do not follow his orders, by calling the police. Really? He is a great example for your employees; the lady who did my keys was embarrassed and could not say a word. His behavior was unprofessional and inappropriate and I was embarrassed by the way I was treated as he made a scene in front of everyone. If I was asked calmly and told the dog could not be on the floor I would have complied immediately. By the way I'm also attaching a picture of my dog the exact way my little dog was positioned. I just bought a house in Boca Raton around 2400 square, which I was going to buy hard wood floors and do other improvements by buying equipment from Home Depot. Guess what Im not returning back. One more point I would love to bring to your attention every time when I use to come to your store to buy anything I needed some help, it's was always tough to get a straight answer from your associates because they don't know and some how I use to find it my self. I have been going to this home depot for years for little things. I have learned however not to do business in the Kitchen area or the blinds area. They are almost always too busy, you really do not matter. Once you leave, everything you said is forgotten. The blinds I got were all warped. It took ten visites to the store to get this resolved and every time I had to speak with a different or new person. There was never any record of it. I had to install the new blinds myself. This is a place that has worse than terrible customer service. Just go to a different place that has better upper management. read more

Worst parking lot to navigate. This Home Depot has the worst setup I've ever seen. Good luck if you want lumber. It's way in the back of the store. And it's like they don't realize it's in the back because if you forgot a cart you will be trekking all the way back to the front to get one since they leave them outside. Also every aisle is blocked up. So now that you have your cart full of lumber you have to wait for people to move to get back to the front. This place is awful. No one knows anything here! Looking for a simple in-line fuse holder, I ask the lady in the orange apron standing in the isle with the fuses where I can find one that takes a 3A fuse. Here is what happened... THIS REALLY HAPPENED! HD Rep: "we don't carry those". ME:Confused, I ask, again, "are you sure Mrs? I'm talking about a simple fuse holder and I know you carry them." HD Rep: "No, we don't carry them" she replies, never making eye contact and continuing to straighten items on a shelf. ME: I reach over to the fuses and immediately pick up an in-line fuse holder (but not the one I need) and ask politely, "Ma'am, is this your section?", HD: "Yes" she says... ME: "Well this is one of the items you don't carry. Is there someone else you can page to this section to help me find what I'm looking for?" HD Rep: "NO! I am the only one in this section and I'm telling you we don't carry them or I don't know where they are!" (again, just to be clear, I am holding in my hand what she is telling me they don't carry.) ME: "I understand, but ma'am, WHO can I ask if I can't ask you? I THOUGHT I was at HOME DEPOT!" HD Rep: "NOPE! Not anymore yer not! Nobody here knows anything. It's the Home Depot... What can you expect? It's clean, well organized and like every other one I have been to, from NY to LA to SF. Organized slightly different than some, but exactly the same in all other regards. They have what's need, some tools, electrical parts, house keeping items, a nice garden center, good selection, prices that seem reasonable for the value of what I was buying. Lots of parking, but the entrance is a little awkward off a side street and not too obvious the first time I pulled in. Their hours are a bit short, but reasonable enough, as I tend to always find myself there near closing time. Thanks to the Home Depot for being there for me, a replacement for Sears, Radio Shack and Armstrong Garden.... RIP read more

My husband and I have shopped here almost weekly. We're not your regular handy people or construction professionals but the aisle staff and garden center staff have always been helpful, informative and knowledgeable. I recently tried their online order/store pick up service and as a result had a rare rude experience with two employees. I reached out to the Store Manager and was pleasantly surprised at how he handled my complaint so personally- it felt like I was dealing more with a small town hardware store than a major chain in fact. His handling and personal interest in rectifying the matter renewed my positive image of Home Depot. I'm happy to say I really like this store and feel appreciated as a customer (which is rare in many businesses of this scale). read more
