A closed aisle during business hours.

As if this store could possibly get any worse, it does. It appears that they're now trying to pull a Walmart maneuver by forcing everyone to use the annoying self checkouts. A bit of a problem when you have items that require a store associate to ring it up. (individual bolts, cut wood pieces, etc) Never mind that, instead of actually opening manned registers, they simply have 2-3 "associates" standing around at the self checkouts, gossiping and basically doing nothing. If you're going to force people to check out their own items, you'd darn well better be reducing your prices! (which they haven't) I absolutely despise any store that goes this route and refuse to further shop at any store that does. I'll drive the extra six miles to the nearest Lowes. At least there, I don't have to go outside to find a wood cart/dolly to shop with like this store makes you do.

    Bad Lumber From Home Depot

This is the worse store ever! My husband ordered lumber from this store for delivery and received 3 pieces that were unusable. Two of the pieces of lumber were cracked and one piece had areas that were rotten. When the store was contacted the customer service employee was beyond rude and stated that the pick up and delivery of the replacement lumber could not be done on the same day and would be a week before replacement of the defective lumber could be delivered. Worse customer service ever. Going forward if an item cannot be grab and go will not consider shopping at this location ever again!

The misleading store hours say the close at 8 pm on Sundays but they actually close at 7 pm. As a result, a $74 rental cost me $138.03...smh

DO NOT USE THIS STORE. I rented a truck at 3:46 pm knowing that the 4 hour block meant that I needed to have the vehicle returned by 7:46 pm which seemed cool because the store hours are listen from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm on Sunday by the wall outside the entry door to the rental center. After using and filling up the gas tank, I returned to the store at 7:28 pm and it was completely closed. I doubled checked and the sign had 8:00 am - 8:00 pm on Sunday so I was puzzled as to why it was closed. I called the store number and got no answer so I parked the truck in front of the rental office door, locked it up, kept the keys and went home. As I returned in the morning to return the keys, I asked if they closed at 8 pm on Sunday? The department manager MARTHA said yes, but the worker behind the counter said, "no, they now close at 7 pm." As a result a $74/ 4 hour rental was now $138.03 for a full day. So again I questioned why do the hours on the door say 8pm closing when you close at 7 pm. That completely mislead me into believing I was on a great time schedule because I probably could have returned the truck by 6:15 pm if I knew they closed an hour earlier. I offered to show my gas receipt that shows that I filled the truck up before 8pm as I was going by the store hours listed on the wall, and the manager Martha still denied that there was anything she could do. Now I don't mind paying for any service, but don't mislead me. Home Depot makes way too much money to not be able to update a sign outside the door. I'm very disappointed in how misleading that is, and the pure laziness and neglect to update a sign from franchise that big. Furthermore, if the sign was wrong, I should have been told that the store closes at 7 and don't have a 4 hour block. I would have still rented the vehicle and had it returned on time. So I will never rent from this location again.

Jokes aside, this store is solid every single time I come in. I always find exactly what I'm looking for, which is saying a lot for a hardware store when you're mid-project and already annoyed. Special shout-out to Otis, who helped me resolve a dryer issue in a matter of minutes. No upselling, no confusion -- just quick problem-solving that saved me time and frustration. I was starting to feel pretty discouraged. I called this location and asked if they had the screw. Turns out, they actually didn't--but it worked out better than expected. There's an older gentleman who works here (I hate that I can't remember his name), and when I tell you this man knows his stuff, he knows his stuff. I explained what I was building and why I thought I needed that specific screw, and in a clear, easy-to-understand way, he walked me through what I actually needed and how to make the project come together properly. I'm writing this review a couple of months after finishing the build, and there's no denying it turned out better following his advice than it would have if I had done it my way. He is a keeper--and the reason I'll be skipping every other hardware store and coming straight here if I ever run into a similar issue again... even if the parking isn't great, lol.

During my visit, it seemed everywhere I turned, an employee was there to greet me and ask me if I needed anything. As I approached the key stand to get some keys cut, there were two employees ready to help. Shout-out to super-friendly Sahil for proactively asking me about my keys as soon as I pulled them out of my pocket. She let me know what my options were and I chose to have three standard keys cut at $2.98 each. Three total rang up to $9.74 after tax. Sahil told me this is the "fun" Ace Hardware and I could see why. The staff trended younger and more "hip." I'm a fan of Ace Hardware in general because each store feels like a small, local, and unique business. This one especially so. It's popular among locals with a strong sense of neighborhood and community. And, like other city Ace Hardware stores, it was densely-packed with all sorts of useful hardware and garden items. If you've never visited this location before, be sure to check out the beautiful plant room. They have a good selection of plants and a big wall of seeds. They even sell King of Pops here. Shep's turned out to be the exact place I needed it to be and I was able to scoop up what I was after and head home without stopping anywhere else! When you first arrive you may see parking as limited and street only, but given their location and attachment to the next door market, they share a covered parking garage that provides you plenty of parking! But if street parking is your thing, there is plenty of that as well. Uncomfortable and Disappointing Experience…read more I recently visited my local Ace Hardware for the first time to find a specific product. While walking through an aisle, a young employee asked if I needed help. I explained what I was looking for, and he took me to a section where he thought I'd find it. Despite trying to assist, he ultimately pointed me to a product he thought "might" do the trick, while casually mentioning that they didn't even carry the specific brand I had requested. As I made my way toward the front of the store to check out, I noticed a strange man wearing a ridiculous toupee staring at me with a blank face. His persistent gaze made me feel uneasy, so I decided to pass him and enter an aisle I thought would lead to the checkout. When I realized it didn't, I turned around--only to find him still standing there, staring at me. Since this strange-looking man refused to break his unsettling stare, I decided to approach him. Finally, he asked, with a blank stare, if I needed help. I asked him which way to the register, and he silently pointed, still wearing the same blank expression--which only further highlighted his guess what, kids? ridiculous a$$ TOUPEE!! The look he gave me felt so bizarre, as though I had asked his daughter to join me for a midnight showing of the movie Friday. To make it clearer: I felt like it was 1955, and my name was Emmett Till. Fortunately, another gentleman stepped in as I approached the register for a refund after I'd made the purchase and walked out, only to realize the product the younger employee suggested wouldn't work for my needs. He was kind, courteous, and knowledgeable, and he led me to the correct product while explaining its features. His professionalism saved the sale and bumped my initial one-star rating up to two stars, which I believe is fair. When I returned to the register, guess who was still standing at a distance, staring at me with a blank face? That same motherf*cker wearing a ridiculous A$$ TOUPE!!!! Oh, but wait--did you think it ended there? The younger man who had point-blank LIED TO ME earlier had now joined him. Together, they gave off a sudden vibe that was unmistakably reminiscent of fresh white sheets. To know that people like this still exist is mind-boggling, but fortunately, tools like Yelp now exist to assist you in pencil-whipping these MFs through honest reviews that can significantly impact such businesses.
