I come in here often. Every week/every other and I usually have a decent experience (the reason for 3 stars). Even if someone doesn't fully know how to help me with what I'm trying to do, they're at least kind and attempt to help. So, in general, I like this location. However, I had an exceptionally terrible experience there this morning. I mean -5 stars awful. I was looking around for something that I have previously purchased here maybe 2 months ago. A girl named Melody was sitting at the desk kind of in the middle of the store and kindly asked if I was looking for something. I explained to her what I was looking for and that I remembered it being around these aisles on the very bottom right hand side. I wasn't able to explain the product as well as I wanted to because I couldn't remember the name of it. So, I pulled it up and showed her a photo of the box. To preface, I have been in customer service for 22 years so I have an understanding of what is acceptable/not acceptable when helping guests, ESPECIALLY polite and kind guests like I was. I showed her the photo and she abruptly said "Yeah, we don't have that here. I said, "Really? I just bought maybe 5 or 6 boxes from here" And this is how the rest of the conversation went.. "You didn't get it here." "I know for sure I got it here. I purchased it myself" "Maybe you had it shipped to store" "No, I didn't. I just happened upon them and picked some up" "When?" "Maybe 2 months ago" "I've been here since August and I'm telling you we've never had that. Here, I'll just look it up" "Oh, it looks like we do have it. It's in aisle 20whatever she said. We actually have 2 in stock" I was completely silent and we walked to the aisle and I started grabbing what I needed. I asked her for her name and she said Melody. Then I went silent again and she started *really* overcompensating awkwardly with attempting kindness after I asked her name. Saying things like, "Well, I'm so happy I know we have this now, this isn't my department, I have never seen these before, you might wanna grab all 3 boxes (instead of the 2 I needed)." Just really uncomfortably rambling because she knew how rude she just was to me. We are walking back and she is very insistent on helping me further. I asked for wood filler because I too feel uncomfortable now. She shows me, I thank her, and she asked if she could find anything else for me. I responded with "Absolutely not." and walked off, genuinely upset about being talked to with such poor attitude and accusatory behavior. Just rude as all get out. I've never called a manager to complain but I think I will. I was super dissatisfied with my entire trip except for the lady at the checkout line. Do better, Melody. read more

I stopped by the West side store and they went out of their way to help me out. With them I was able to order the mini totes and I will be picking them up in the future. The young lady named Sam there was outstanding and made sure she took care of me. She was the best ever. read more

I went to buy some landscape poles and when I selected 2 I was selecting the third one and two poles fell out of the rack and smashed my foot. I limped over to the Pro register and asked for a manager. The teller said ok I will page him. The manager came to me setting behind the counter and said 'fill out this form someone from the claims dept will be in touch. He didn't care to investigate my injuries or the area where it happened. Claims department called 4 days later and offered me $300. to settle. 18 days offered $500. 30 days and it is now $1000. Admitting no responsibility, waiving future loss and wanting to settle. read more

orderd an AC unit from Evansville IN store, and had the AC unit delivered to our home, and when it came the box was torn up and the corner of the AC unit was broken. the stated on the box FRAGILE DO NOT DROP. but looks as if the dropped it down a flight of stairs then tossed it on my porch so hard i heard it all the way in my back room. now we have to reorder, and take this one to the store. i am pissed. never again will we order from home depot. read more

We finalized the selection of two Andersen exterior French doors with the Evansville, IN millwork department in January, 2021. We were told at the time the millwork associate would need to speak with Andersen directly due to the non standard size and special order requirements of the doors. This process, despite our visits and telephone inquiries, took another 6 months. The final quote and purchase order with payment was made in August, 2021.The cost? In excess of $13,000! The project, now more than a year old, remains unfinished. In addition to the long lead time and the HD associates failure to drive the project along, it was only discovered in October, 2021 (install date) that one door was ordered incorrectly and the second, without the necessary trim. A second door was ordered and the rescheduled install date set for December, 2021. Again this date came and went until we called and asked HD to follow up. The project completion date was set for January 31st. On his arrival the installer informed us one of the doors had been released to another customer, installed in their home and then returned. Of course, we would not consider the installation of this door. A third order has now been placed with an expected project completion date of March/April, 2022. This is a story of failed leadership, accountability and an uncanny talent for making incompetence look easy. If you are considering using HD Home Services please know that their agreements do not have any language for recourse for failure to perform services in a timely manner. Note: The installer (Brandon) is knowledgeable, professional and timely. Insist on his services if you are so inclined to deal with these folks. read more

Horrible customer service! We drive 1.5 hours to purchase a 5000 dollar lawnmower. We opened a new Home Depot credit card to get 0% financing and 100.00 store credit plus use our military discount. When we got there the customer service desk charged us for the wrong lawnmower, refused to allow us to use our military discount and refused to apply the 100 dollar in store coupon. He told us "too bad and to order it online if we wanted to use those discounts" after he chargers our card for the wrong lawnmower he told us we could take the one we didn't want or wait 48 hours for the money to be credited back to the card then come back and "try again to get the right one" what kind of customer service is this? We went across town to the other Home Depot and they were able to help us. They were super friendly there, we got to use our military discount and the in store coupon that was advertised!!! This review hurts me because I have always been a Home Depot fan. Much more over the competitors. However I have never used them for anything major. I decided to change that upon my new home. I saw they were having a free carpet installation with purchase. I went in and talked to the gentleman at the flooring counter beings I have never purchased carpet before. He said they are offering the free installation but they are very backed up and all of the carpet is special order and it takes several weeks to get your order in. I immediately became disinterested because it didn't fit my time line. And then the gentleman said you can order in stock carpet and that can usually get installed in 7 days. I said PERFECT!! So I went to the in stock wall and picked out what I wanted so after they measured I would be ready. They measured and I told them the carpet I wanted. 7 days go by... 12 days go by... no word from Home Depot. So at day 12 I call concerned. We don't offer 7 day install carpet they said. I said excuse me. I was told by the man at the desk if I order in stock carpet it would be installed in 7 days.... they then said they had to special order my carpet. I said if you were gonna have to special order it I would have ordered carpet I wanted not the carpet I purchased. I purchased what I purchased under the pretense it would be installed in 7 days!! Talked to manager. Got no where. Talked to a different manager. Got no where. Talked to corporate. Got no where. It ended up finally getting installed a month after the initial purchase. Now let's talk about when it was finally installed. So 3 guys who don't speak English show up. That's fine. But I kinda need to communicate with you. The install the carpet in the basement. And then step start working in the upstairs. And rip out all the carpet. They said they had to stop because I have asbestos tile under the carpet. They continued to walk across the broken tile tracking god knows what all over the newly installed carpet and into the kitchen where they kept their tools. I called Home Depot again concerned. And even they seemed concerned they didn't lay anything down on the broken tile or not rip the carpet completely out once they noticed the tile underneath. I ended up having to hire a crew to come rip out all the tile and the asbestos company said. Umm those aren't asbestos tile. I said excused me. They said nope. These tile snap. Asbestos tile crumble. So after paying $890 dollars for a special clean up crew to remove broken tile that weren't dangerous the same 3 guys showed up today to finish the job. And seem rather agitated about it. I told them it wasn't asbestos and he said they were 9x9. I said yes but no asbestos. I mean this guy just saw the size and thought it was asbestos. I cannot wait for this ordeal to be over with. I will not be shopping at Home Depot any longer and I'd advise you to think twice before you do also. I will find a different company to do my kitchen read more

Bought a kitchen faucet--installed it--The sprayer was too big --did not fit in the holder--wnet to home depot--they told me to being it in and they would exchange it. Brought it in--They said SORRY THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO!!!!!!!! I bought the sprayer that would fit at LOWES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Will never go back to HOME DEPOT again read more
