I'm reviewing a purchase I made recently at the Marketplace Home Depot. Graham was exceptionally helpful to me sorting through the available furnace filters. I needed a specific brand. He found it and, also cautioned me on smothering my furnace. My furnace guy had mentioned the same so Graham was congnizent of the same problem that my furnace man had indicated. Don't ever expect a pick up order to be ready when it says it is ready. It is NEVER ready when you get there. If the item is large, plan on 30-60 minutes until they can find someone to pull it for you. The management of this store is AWFUL. I have spoken to them about it before but it never changes. The managers here simply DO NOT CARE about customer service. read more

We have two HD's in Flagstaff! This one definitely has a better selection! Most employees at this location are quite friendly. I understand that everything has gone up in price, but their plants have definitely made a huge jump! They do have a better selection, though of house plants, cactus/succulents and outdoor plants than the west side location. Unfortunately, it's difficult to find someone who has proper knowledge in the garden section, and many of the outdoor plants they have are not good for our zone. Nevertheless, they are cheaper than nurseries. I always love how they have fun with skellies!!! They have crazy Halloween and Christmas set ups! read more

This character also chose to go on break when he left me waiting in the middle of purchasing 3k$ item last week. watch your receipts. My last 4 visits I've found HD overcharged. The latest incident happened 2 says ago I tried to purchase drill bits, labeled on sale for $29.99, down from $39.99. At the register, $39.99. I took a picture of the sale price listed on the shelf proving the price. the attendant happily lowered the price BUT that didn't solve the problem. had I not paid attention, HD would have successfully stole $10 plus tax from me. this similar situation happened 3 other times. HD is doing this on purpose, it's illegal and it is theft. read more

I come in here whenever we're in Flagstaff which has been a lot over the past few months and I've always been happy with the customer service and knowledge of the employees. The parking lot is a different story. I applaud you for letting people park there overnight but you have several vehicles that are clearly living there and act weird if someone parks in their place. That's a recipe for disaster. When you have people harassing customers because they feel ownership over a specific parking spot it might be time to reevaluate. There's a white dodge car with two younger adults being very weird about their "space" and making a big deal about bringing out blankets and wearing pajamas at around 6 PM. Two other customers arrived saw their very obvious bid for attention and promptly left. Maybe it's a way to hope people will give them money... weird. read more

Service: Had to use the self checkout and I get asked if I need assistance which I replied that I didn't. Employee stands next to my cart and watches me scan each item which was very uncomfortable, like they think I'm going to steal or something. Asked the manager about this and he replied that the employee does have to watch that closely for theft. I then asked why they didn't just have regular registers with cashiers then. I have a new appreciation for Home Depot in east Flagstaff after today and their employee Ryan. Ryan offered to help me in electrical when I brought my favorite lamp in to find a part to try and fix it myself. I had looked on YouTube and talked myself into believing I could change out the assembly and replace the chain that I broke off recently. Ryan took me to the section where those parts would be and started to describe how I would take it apart. While showing me how I might do it, he went ahead and opened the assembly and was able to reattach the chain back for me! I had asked two other places for help before breaking down and going to HD as no one fixes lamps in this town! As my last experience with HD was awful and resulted in damage by Temco delivery guys to my home, I never intended to go back. Went in today to buy black paint. The girl working the paint counter ignored me while I stood there. She was training another employee. After a couple of minutes she acknowledged me then continued to train to the new guy. Shouldn't you're number one priority be the customer? Shouldn't the number one thing you train another employee to do is to take care of the customer? Anyhow, I don't even want to get into trying to buy black paint from her. I got frustrated and just went right to the other Home Depot. Went to Home Depot on the west side, asked the person working the paint counter for black paint and it was done immediately. read more

The manager Tammy at the east side Home Depot in Flagstaff is awesome! I had an issue with a previously purchased product (12" Ridgid compound miter saw) so I called the store. During the voice recognition automation, I said the word "MANAGER". Surprisingly the store manager Tammy picked up the phone and within minutes with no argument (from myself or Tammy) told me how she was going to correct the problem with my saw (above and beyond all my expectations). I will be making all of my future tool and home improvement purchases from this Home Depot in Flagstaff on the east side on marketplace. Special thanks to Tammy, and all of the staff at this store. Piss poor performance in leadership = crappy service. It's pretty obvious Home Depot doesn't care about customer service when most of their employees are either over-worked stocking, or are not provided training to help boost customer service skills. They are definitely the Walmart of hardware stores. You will never get the kind of customer service the local hardware store, HomeCo, provides at any Home Depot's in Flagstaff. My wife was just at this Home Depot today and when she asked an associate in the paint area there A SIMPLE QUESTION about if they had Wood Conditioner, the associate tells her she doesn't know what my wife is talking about and states "Home Depot must not recommend doing that because I've never heard of it". She then continued to roll her eyes at my wife and act like my wife was an idiot. My wife, not wanting to deal with her attitude, told the associate to just go away. Then the lady has the nerve to say my wife made her cry to another employee, which causes another Home Depot employee to go over to where my wife was at and start to point at her and say loudly "that's her, that's the lady that made her cry", while other people were standing around in the area. After that episode at Home Depot, my wife decided to go to Home Co instead. Sure enough, she was able to get help with finding Wood Conditioner and was even given some tips on how to apply it, all within a few minutes. Again, the level of customer service at HomeCo is something you'll NEVER get at the Home Depots in Flagstaff, which tells you what the leadership of Home Depot cares about. Honestly, I don't know why in the hell Flagstaff even lets 2 Home Depots operate in town when supposedly the City Council is against large corporations taking over business. If anything they should of had Lowe's come in or worked with HomeCo to get a second store up, instead of having Home Depot put up a second store. If we were located closer to Home Co, we'd just go there all the time. But after today's vast experiences with getting help, we will probably just make the extra 15 min drive to visit HomeCo, instead of Home Depot. Pros here: Low Prices on some items. Cons: Corporate Leadership, Corporate Management, Service, Pet Friendliness, Organization, Cleanliness, Way Understaffed (especially during this pandemic, talk about the corporate leaders getting greedy as flock). Suggestions: Get better leadership starting at the top, at least attempt to provide quality customer service training for employees, hire more people to help stock stuff. read more

I just bought a 5x8 utility trailer at Home Depot in Kingman. It is exactly what I wanted and it only took maybe 20-30 minutes total. Why drive to Kingman? The service here is absolutely TERRIBLE! After 2 separate trips both taking at least an HOUR out of my time (each time I attempted to buy a trailer), I took Flagstaff HD off of my list. The first time, I was sent all over the store until a nice young man tried to help me. Unfortunately, he didn't know what paperwork had to be filled out or how to find my tow light hook up. I ran out of time and left. The second time, I waited in line for (no exaggeration) 45 minutes while watching 4 or 5 employees work the service desk. They were smiling to each other and grumpy with each customer. They had a complex return (Hot water heater) from a Native woman and they would just wander away to help someone else without even telling her why. So rude to her!!! I watched as she waited patiently for longer then I did. I finally decided I didn't want to give them my business so I told the manager (she was 5th staff) and left. 1 1/2 months after first trying to buy a trailer, I was headed east and decided to drive the extra 60 miles to see if Kingman Home Depot wanted to sell me a trailer. They did!! They knew what paperwork they needed to fill out (as dealers) and quickly rang it up and I was on my way!! I will pay extra to shop elsewhere! Anywhere else! read more

Went in last week looking for a generator and was told they don't carry generators in the store lol Found them myself near the grills. read more

I'm going with A-OK, today. The experience at Home Depot is hit and miss, and today was definitely a hit. Nothing major, not looking for a screen repair tool, nor am I flipping houses like others, though more oft than not the experience at the HD is pretty poor. Today renewed my faith in people truly wanting to assist another. I walked into the HD aroudn 8am this morning, searching for what I thought was an aluminum piece of metal, with holes in it, to assist in securing a peice of equipment. 12 inches long, 1/2 inch wide with holes in it. Sadly, I did not bring a picture. As I began the HD slog of looking for assistance, while looking for the aisle I need to be in, I was pleasantly suprised by a Female associate who appeared to be stocking and asked me if I needed assistance. I was shocked, but quite happy. I explained what I was looking for, and she laughed that that was something unique. She searched her phone/hand held with no luck. However, then she contacted colleague who come over and provided me with some options, based upon my description. Customer service, so refreshing! The 1st option didn't pan out, so the colleagure took me to the second option, still no dice, and he informed me he might have one more oppotunity, and spot on, he found what I needed. My opinon, for HD as a company, has improved some, today. I hope they continue to improve with their customer service, as it's truly a challenge to find assistance, more oft than not. read more

Customer service is not the greatest in the store. Many employees are busy on their personal cell phones and are too busy to talk to customers. I have learned to just go to Home Depot's website and search for items to find out where it is in the store. The cashiers are usually friendly there. If there was a Lowe's nearby, I would go there. I went to Home Depot for 2 gallons of paint. There were at least 4 men in front of me ordering paint (one of which had a 15 gallon order) and 1 employee working in the department. I heard her asking twice for assistance from employees to no avail. She was swamped but when it was finally my turn she was so helpful and patient while I tried to figure out what kind of paint I needed. She promptly finished the job once she was able to get some help. Her name was Kaitlyn and she deserves kudos for staying calm and professional! read more

Went to Home Depot to purchase a Water Heater all was good UP until the turned me over to Delta Mechanical ( Out of Mesa , AZ) . This is when the problem started - they are so unprofessional , no integrity and poorest customer service I experienced since Montgomery Wards. Here is the rest of the story---- They keep you on the phone for 40 -60 minutes on hold , numerous times , never met the scheduled time to install the unit. Finally after 4 calls and 3 hours later , I get a call from Marcus ( dispatch) and some flunky supervisor named Alyscia who concocted some story about there technical help would now show up at 8pm to install ? Really .. The scheduled time was 11am -1pm . After driving up from the Valley and taking a day off work .. Then I get another call at 7:00pm and now say there tech wasn't coming and didn't want to do the job due to my poor attitude , after stroking me for 6 hrs - and you wonder why people get stressed and upset. Ha ha after waiting 8 hrs ( technical name is Humberto out of Prescott , AZ ) fabricated some story about running late - I think he is lazy and just didn't want to work past 5:00 all along . I will bet he will not be there 6 months from or will any of these other scam artist. Should drug test and background check these people. It's a joke that a Fortune 500 company ( Home Depot) can't find a reputable sub contractor who honors there promise. Besides I never questioned the $1505 price and waited 5 days to experience a crock of crap. DO YOURSELF AND FAMILY a favor , find a reputable local plumber and avoid the stress the time and energy. Rather dealing with Home Depot and there bullshit contractors .. Don't understand why they can't do don't there due diligence ... It appears to be a under the table pay for play. The AG office and IRS should investigate , maybe someone's getting paid off in a shore bank accounts.? We are in the process of repainting our ENTIRE house and we have made multiple trips to the store recently. A few times have been so-so with the service we received at the paint counter, but to give them the benefit of the doubt they were really busy. The last two times though, we had exceptional service. The two associates were super helpful especially the guy working there. I was helped right away and my paint was mixed and ready when I returned to the counter. With the way we do home improvement projects I am certain we will be back a few more times. read more

I was at the self check out. I was over charged for a light globe. I informed the employee (long dark hair, youngish, olive skin) working there. She told me I would have to go to exchanges and returns to fix it. I protested saying I had just finished checking out. She was really rude and told me "No, you have to go to exchanges and returns." She sounded like she was talking to a four year old who who had done something they shouldn't have. Too bad, I will be doing a lot of remodeling in the next year or two. Always a fan and it wasn't so busy so we had employees helping us get around. This doesn't happen often. Usually we are left to climb the shelves ourselves which does happen at a lot of the Home Depot stores. Picked up PCV valve covers, PCV valve cement, Draino, and some nuts to snack on while we wait. Then we had to wait, which is never a good thing with my mother, she was born without the 'patience' gene. Not everything is correctly labeled in the store so my big brother had to walk all the way back to the lumber yard. While waiting we took a gander at one of their magazines on the rack "Flea Market Finds & Ideas" is what I think it was titled - some nice ideas. read more

When we went in today, we were asked by multiple employees if we needed any help which was very nice because a lot of stores you have to go find the help. We went into the wood and stain department. Yelp dumped my earlier review. I thought I'd post it again with an extra star hoping that it will help someone make a wiser choice than I did shopping at Home Depot. We purchased a Mitsubishi Multi Split A/C thru Home Depot's "Home Services" program. A Salesman from Prescott One Hour Air misled us into an expensive Contract with Home Depot. $13,000.00 for the installation of an Multi Split A/C unit. We could have purchased the material on Amazon for under $6,000.00. The Salesman agreed with each of our concerns and we were told they were "standard installation", he assured us these concerns would be completed. The outside A/C lines were to be covered with Mitsubishi "Line Hide" split conduit but were instead covered with pieces of "galvanized tin" with numerous gaps. Looks sloppy, unappealing and we feel it devalues our home. We've contacted Home Depot several times with little to no response. Our only response was that the "Salesman didn't take very good notes" and for that reason "they feel they are under no obligation to honor this request" even though we did document our concerns during the sale. We were told we can replace the tin at our own expense but we have concerns moving the high pressure lines to do this. I hope anyone looking to purchase A/C from Home Depot's "Home Services" reads this and makes a wiser decision that we did. Find a more trustworthy business and take the time to gather several "bids" prior to signing with these people. read more

The reason for the five stars is because of the Manager Will and a new employee whose name is Scott. I was in lumber looking for someone to cut a piece of wood. Every time I tried to flag someone down they turned a corner and pretty much put me on ignore. Finally I saw a nice young man with a home depot orange on and he came right over to me with a smile and asked if I needed help. I explained that I had aggressively been looking for help but couldn't find any. At that moment one of Scott's managers walked by and asked him where we could track down someone in lumber to cut the wood. Now Scott had just started so he was just learning the stores ropes. The Manager whose name is Will took the piece of lumber and with a smile said I will go cut it for you wait here please. Now that is customer service. How about having Will and Scott teach the others what the word customer service means. They need a commendation. A new employee with a smile and a willingness to help me and a Manager who will cut a piece of wood for a customer. Now that is customer service and they are the only reason I give five stars, the only reason. read more

I have always loved this home depot and still enjoy going in there. Everyone is always super nice and the manager Kenny was very helpful. But, DO NOT GO HERE FOR A PATIO DOOR INSTALLATION. Lee Alley is easily one of the sorriest excuses for a salesman that I have ever seen. Here is a summary of our interactions with him: 1. Wanted to charge us $1000 more than what we were quoted from the Home Depot Millworks dept. for our 1st choice of patio door, which was a Jeld Wen. And when asked why it was so much more, his only response was that Home Depot he was not really "set-up" to install brands other than Simonton. 2. Continually pushed this Simonton door by providing a pamphlet with no info on models, pricing or any pertinent information that should be provided to a customer who is shelling out several thousand dollars for merchandise 3. After an exhaustive and confusing interaction with Lee, we finally caved in and agreed to buy this Simonton door. We met Lee at the store that same evening to fill out the paperwork. After doing so we asked him which door we were buying and when he showed us the display and we were shocked to see that the price of the door was $452. But, the aforementioned customer service crisis is not the worst of it. Our total cost was $1601 dollars. When we arrived home with the paperwork we were shocked to see that there was no breakdown or details of the charges, just one single charge for $1601. If the door was only $452, where is the other $1149 going? Since then I have contacted Lee twice and requested that he send us an itemized invoice, which he said was not possible. He also told me that in the year that he has been doing this no one has ever asked for a breakdown of any charges. I find this, not hard, but impossible to believe. He told me that he can try to contact his office in Phoenix to obtain what I requested and that he would get back to me. Then, when I finally ran in to him at the store when we went in for a refund, he secured his place on planet idiocy when he continued to insult our intelligence by saying that when someone buys a car, they don't see the breakdown of all the costs for the bolts and screws. What a complete asshole. This criminally incompetent person should not be representing Home Depot in any way. He is utilizing sales tactics that, for good reasons, have long been extinct. I won't even begin to get into the human disaster that is Concept Builders which preceded all of this. They deserve their own review. read more
