I go to Home Depot a lot. This one is full of employees, which is great, but most of them are not helpful and not friendly. I was surprised by an interaction that I witnessed where a customer asked a question of an employee and the employee was rude and dismissive. When I went to check out, it's only self checkout (see above on the staffing) and with a full cart ($300) of small stuff It is a lot to do. I didn't know I had a job at Home Depot as a checker. Maybe Home Depot should discount self check out if they won't pay people to help. read more

I prefer Lowe's, but I go to Home Depot because they have a wider variety of products. That said the majority of the staff there are not friendly. I have to tolerate their rudeness due to needs that I have for materials. If Lowe's has the item I'll always drive right past Home Depot to go there. There's a young lady in the appliance department who is extremely rude. Darrel is not rude. He's a great help, but he's not always there. I happened upon a customer/employee interaction on Saturday that left me with an impression that I was never to ask a question in the "plumbing department. Overheard a customer inquiring about a bathroom vanity or sink and the employee, who was chatting w another employee, dismissively pointed and said "it's in the aisle over there" and went back to conversing w the other employee. Depends on the day, the weather, whatever...but service can be inconsistent. Associates are generally very friendly, but sometimes have an "edge" to their voice - perhaps when they're understaffed or overworked or overwhelmed by the immense inventory and are expected to know where just about everything is located. (Good training program, but a lot is expected from employees.) My biggest "gripe" is the inconsistency in the flag-waving owner or corporate-local "Military Discount" policy. Many stores offer this only to active service vets. Some on holidays only. Others say retired vets are eligible. Still others say just for "some" vets....and in my case, my VA ID did not list my branch of service ... but it was issued by and is honored by the VA wherever I go....but not at HD. One Cashier said, it "has to say disabled." What? Inconsistency at best. read more

Service and professional responses suck at this store. I put in a delivery order early in the morning and it confirmed it would be delivered between 6-8 pm. 815 pm I still hadn't received it, I checked my email there was no email from Home Depot I went on their website and it was now changed to canceled! There was no note or comments on why. I called them and asked where my order was at and he said very rudely "Mam, you need to ask roady they are responsible for delivery you should have gotten an email I checked my email for anything named "road" or similar, nothing. I told him, he said man I don't know we aren't responsible for it. I reminded him I bought it through Home Depot and they were responsible for roadie and notifying me regardless. He said mam are you going to stop talking and let me explain to you how this works! Rude, and hateful! I told him I wanted to speak to a manager he said m we don't work for roadie you need to call them, I told him to let me speak to a manager, and he put me on hold and left me on hold for 36 minutes, I finally hung up. Home Depot is participating with China in multi-million dollar fraud on Americans. I believe I am just one of thousands defrauded by Home Depot. My example / situation involves a Murray lawn mower, made by China. Home Depot , in order to make millions of dollars in profit, misrepresents that this Murray product has a two (2) year warranty. As with many others who have been defrauded with this scam, my mower is one (1) year old and used very little, as I am a snow bird to Florida. The engine started and began knocking very loud. Stopped it , checked the oil and oil was full. Looked closer at the matter, to see if an oil change was required , as if I had done something wrong. Turns out, this is a very strange engine, by design, that has no oil discharge port, label claiming oil never needs to be changed. Further , Home Depot has system deferring all warranty claims to some small engine repair shop in Pensacola Fl. . Internet shows repeated consumer complaints of warranties not covered by this shop, or Home Depot and/or Walmart , who also defers warranty of Murray lawn Mowers to this small engine repair shop, that turns all warranty claims down. Why worry about a need to change the oil when no engine warranty claims are ever honored. I've spent thousands of dollars at this Ft. Walton Home Depot and thousands more at other Home Depots. This is blatant planned fraud by Murray and Home Depot should result in jail time for CEO of Home Depot. The 900 sq. ft. repair shop could never handle the warranty of 20 some odd Home Depots. The Attorney Generals of every State should be investigating this fraud. read more

Avoid ordering anything backorder unless you are very patient... One star review for installation services...or rather lack thereof. Aug 11 paid 8k up front to replace two patio doors. Was told they were 8-12 weeks out and I was fine with it since it was a non-urgent replacement. Initially set up install Nov 10 but was told doors were still backorder. Now a month later without any update. I get the supply chain issues but what I don't get is the lack of proactive reach out by customer service after 5 months of waiting. read more

UPDATE This went from a one star experience to a five star experience because of the exceptional customer service at this location. Mike reached out to me and wanted to make everything right. He fully refunded the bags and since the bags I ordered were not in stock he found another product of even better quality to place them. Although I am still frustrated with the text response I received from corporate, the wonderful people at this location had my back and I left feeling like all of my problems were solved. Thanks team! WILL NOT REFUND INCORRECT CURBSIDE ORDER Drove an hour to pick up curbside and waited 40 min to receive my order AND was given the wrong items. One of those items was a bag of clearly opened gardening soil that was thrown in my trunk of car spilling out almost completely. When I contacted customer support they said the only way to get a refund was to dive back and return the less expensive and incorrect soil. So frustrating!! Home Depot is hard to beat in any state. I stopped here after gettimg into town and needed repair things for condo. I had some paint I had from Home Depot in Chicago area and they shook it for me at no cost. The staffer was Kellie and she was terrific, they are lucky to have her as their employee. I only wish I could give zero stars. They now have all maned registers in the main checkout area closed where you are now forced to check yourself out. If I was offered an additional discount to check myself out, I just might return, but given the situation, I will never return and will discourage others to parton Lowes, a military friendly and well staffed store. She was snarky and rude. Never got a call or an email regarding delivery time. When I did call at 1815 the night before, still no delivery time. I rarely find someone to assist me when I shop here. To say I'm a little disappointed is an understatement. Wife and I were there to do renovating work on our rental condo in Ft Walton. Since I was busy with the work, my pregnant volunteered to go here to grab some caulk, paint rollers, and 1" lattice for the project. I told her they sell the lattice in a 12 ft long piece and it'll have to be cut down so it'll fit in our rental van. When she found the lattice at the store, she asked a couple of the guys if they can cut the piece in half so it'll fit in the van. The two guys told her that she can cut it herself. Seeing that she pregnant with that big ol tummy, they still said that to her and went on about their conversation. She walked around and found another employee and asked same thing and was also told "you can cut it yourself at the cutting station." Only until she asked another employee after walking around a few mins that the employee agreed that he'll cut it for her "no problem ma'am". Seeing how the other 3 fine gentlemen told a pregnant woman to cut her own lumber piece, I can say I will never go back to this store again. The age of being a gentleman to a lady is no longer at play in this day and age. Very disappointed. read more

I went to this place for the last time. At least at mom and pop stores they have a register open. This place had no registers open at all. They had contractor sales and self checkout. I am no long a contractor And I refuse to use self checkout. When I want to use self checkout I will do it from my living room. Spoke with Mary in customer service for a replacement part. She told me that she could not help me and would have to order multiple parts and I would have to return the ones that didn't match what she ordered. She was very rude and gave me a blank stare when I asked for assistance. She ultimately had to call management over to assist her, which they were able to do. They don't actually carry appliances. They have to order them. The company that delivers is awful. I have never talked to anybody that liked them. I think they pay any crack addict they can find to rent a Uhaul and deliver appliances. My daughter in Pensacola had the same experience. They are unreliable and make you wonder if they are casing your house. read more

Carpet department have been awesome with our installation process. We almost went with Lowes but they were taking a long time to even do our measurements. It was easy to schedule a measurement time and date on the website. Additionally, they did a awesome job with getting our quote so we can order the carpet. Needed a Husky 20-100 foot pound torque wrench. Their website indicated they have 7 at this location as of 6/8/2021. Went to this store, and noticed that no one cleans the parking lot; very unkept. Maybe this should have been my first indicator of establishment. Went to the torque wrench's location in the isle, but there were none there. I figured I'd ask an associate since they didn't look all to busy. I appeared to catch them at the end of their shift. Was told by an associate at a service desk that they had seven after she looked it up in the store's computer, but when we arrived to the item's location in the isle and there were none there, she said she must not have any. This PROVES one of two things: either their website is inaccurate and useless, or they don't accurately invetory their prodcuts. She did try to call for help, but the guy that was supposed to help us was also currently the lumber person(?), but was preoccupied and couldn't help us. She told me to try Destin, like I have all the free time in the world to just go drive there, in the hopes that they might have it. I got the impression that I was too much trouble to try to help out. I told her I wouldn't waste anymore time with Home Depot. IF you use this location, FORCE THEM to put eyes on the product before you go there. Do not trust their website for product quantities, as you may, infact, only waste the time, gas, and effort as I just have. read more

When I pulled up to park in the covered area by the contractor desk, there was a small pickup truck blocking entry into a completely empty parking area except the contractor van behind him, parked properly; but, blocked in from behind, by the truck parked in the driving lane, blocking all traffic! I'm a 100% Disabled American Veteran who waited to tell the person who had blocked the entire covered parking area, and the only contractor, there, what I thought about his rude action. I was telling the jerk, what a jerk he was, when an employee intervened, speaking rudely to me and trying to 'diffuse?' the situation? His words. He has no training, diffusing conflict. He was rude to me, trying to defend a guy who had parked, blocking dozens of other customers. A manager, Jimmy, defended the untrained employee, being rude, escalating, not deescalating, the situation. He had nothing to say about the smirk on the face of the rude employee, either. I had shopped here 2-3 times a week for i er a year, having spent well over $10,000. I know it isn't much; but, unless I get an apology, my business goes to Lowe's, just up the street. I did nothing but tell a jerk he was being a jerk. God Bless the USA, for whom I fought, I can do so! All I was doing was telling the jerk how much he had inconvenienced many, many others, in hopes he might be more considerate in the future. Your employees have no training and no right to interfere in a free exchange of free speech! Lowe's also attaches our DAV status to our account, because they WANT us to use it. Home Depot not only requires I show my Veteran ID every visit, to get my discount, they also Forbid employees from asking, if we forget! Home Depot Wants us to forget. If I wrote this a couple months ago it would have been a one star. I was very dissatisfied. I was remodeling and spent over $8K at Lowes but only about $1K at HD because of totally different service. While at Home Depot, the lady in the tile department absolutely could not care less about helping anyone. I sloth moves faster. But the past month I spent another $500 there and the service picked up a bit. Hopefully it will continue to do so. read more

It seemed like most employees see you coming and the run in opposite direction. Then there was three male employees huddled up talking about women so of course they were no help. Ordered a dryer online on November 24 after being told the control panel burnt out on my last one. Closest delivery was December 7. Delivery company was a complete no show, no call. Called Home Depot customer service several times and nobody could give me any information as to why the company never showed up. The "best" they could do was reschedule my delivery which was two weeks later which put me at the back of the list. Received a text message saying the delivery would take place between 4:15-8:15 and I tracked my delivery status throughout the day. At 6:00 they stopped updating the website. There were 7 people in front of me and when I called Home Depot customer service again to see if there was an ETA they said i was put in as a reschedule again. No word from the delivery company to me about the reschedule. No phone calls offering an apology for the massive inconvenience this has now caused. The delivery company is American Home Delivery and they have very poor ratings but yet Home Depot continues to use the third party delivery company at the expense of customers. Needless to say I will not be ordering another appliance through Home Depot online. This company overbooks their schedule time and time again resulting in no shows. How is a single truck going to get through at least 17 deliveries a day when they go through one delivery per hour? Complete crap is what it is. And then to penalize the customer by bumping them to the back of the list? read more

I have been to this Home Depot store maybe 3 times in 3yrs. I have always had an issue with this store's lack of customer service or lack of personnel on the floor. However, I needed a tile that I haven't been able to find so I thought I'd try them. I was very hesitant but went anyway. To test what I've always thought of Home Depot, I counted the number of personnel on the floor available to assist as I walked through. I counted 1. To be fair, I didn't walk to the lumber area. There were NO personnel at the flooring desks nor were there any at the kitchen desks. I walked to the paint dept to ask for help. The employee told me he would send someone to help me. I waited and waited and waited. No one ever came. I walked to the front and asked to speak with the manager. An assistant manager walked up and I explained the problem to him and he was VERY unsympathetic and appeared as if he didn't care. I was shocked that management wouldn't want to at least offer to help me find the tile I went there for! I wish I was exaggerating when I say he didn't care. He said "i'm sorry that happened." End of his sentence. I was expecting AT LEAST "im sorry this happened during your visit BUT let's make it right and find you the tile you came in here for." NOPE, didn't say that. This reminded me why I only shop LOWE'S. I have NEVER had this issue with Lowe's and their store is much cleaner and more organized. Never will I shop here again !! read more

This store gave me the worst customer experience of my life. Not only did I call and get attitude about a grill I was looking for to see if it was in stock at the store, but when I got there to purchase it, I had not only one, but two employees give me attitude about the grill and walked away after I stated I wanted to buy it. I asked one person there about the grill and his response was "I don't know why you're asking me", and he worked in the grill department. After I purchased the grill, I asked a woman who worked in the grill department if she could help me find the warranty booklet for the grill and she said no and walked away. Based on the other reviews I see for this store, it's no wonder it's a 2-star store. Go to the one in Destin. I did after the experience I had here and was relieved to see it was one bad apple store with a TON of bad employees. read more

One time I told the lady When I was standing at self check out that I wasn't ready to check out yet when she grabbed my item to scan it and I told her I was going to put a few items back she seriously looked at me and said but I already scanned them sorry we're closing. I could not believe it I looked at her and said never mind I'll just pay for them and bring them back tomorrow. She actually said ok like she just wanted to leave and get off work and I was holding her up because it was closing time in 10 mins . I'm pretty sure I even left crying one night when a different lady was so rude to me I can't remember why but it's usually just them being in a bad mood I think and having an attitude definitely not the way I want to be treated when I'm spending money in their store. I bought a new garage door opener this week and had several issues. The first box was torn and I felt like there were too many loose pieces in the box so I brought it back in and they exchanged it with no questions. My next concern was that there was only one left and it had tape all over it. I took the chance because the next model up was an extra $70. I got home and disassembled my old opener and started to lay out all of the new one. I noticed that all the pieces were in a zip lock back. I am furious because I paid over $200 for a used opener. I took it back immediately. The cust service rep apologize and returned it...... I was biting my tongue and said "Thank you for wasting my time". Early the next morning I called and talked to the manager. He listened to my story and told me to come back up there and he would make it right. I was not looking for any discounts, etc. He understood my frustration and upgraded me to the bigger model at a lower costs. It is a shame that I had to ask for manager, but at least he did make it right. I will continue shopping Home Depot over their competitors thanks to Paul read more
