In some regards this review is a variation of a "toss-up" aka Heads or Tails. And the outcome very well could be dependent on customer service. In previous excursions to HD stores at various locations over the years and across the US, my experiences have run the gamut of fantastic (Heads) to Absolutely Awful (Tails) to Phenomenally Disrespectful (Lost the Coin). Bottom line for the most part is my perception is that Customer Service often is reflective of managerial training and support of local staff...and that goes all the way to the top of the HD Chain. (IMHO respect for Veterans often touted in their ads, needs to be more honest and more consistent. I'm not looking for a handout...just the respect HD says it provides....but only sometimes.) Fortunately, for this specific Franklin Home Depot and this curbside trip, Customer Service was a "Heads." It came with prompt, courteous attention to my purchase and the process of pickup. The store had what I ordered on line (in stock) and they delivered it curbside only minutes after arriving and checking in (via phone). The process of checking is was a bit cumbersome, but it worked! Ehhh, not my favorite Home Depot. I love Home Depot! I can get lost there for a few hours, easy. It's my Target. But this location is just lacking. Staff are hard to find, and when you do they aren't super helpful. Aisles seem to constantly be blocked and you can't easily access what you are looking for. Their garden section is pretty good, but the inside store, not so much. All in all, I'd happily drive 20-30 minutes to a different location... but that's just me. read more

This company is trash, I purchased a Dish Washer on 10/4 I was told it would be delivered on 10/21, they called at 3:00 pm it will not be delivered tomorrow, 10/23 we will fix it and make it right. 10/23 they show up 2 guys coming in calling me boss and man, and say you need a plumber, keep in mind I paid for delivery and installation, maybe they should have sent a plumber or, or I should of just went to Lowe's. edit: no need I have cancelled that order, cancelled my card and went to Lowe's down from your store and purchased the EXACT SAME product that will be delivered on 10/29. Choosing Home Depot for a Kitchen remodel was a huge mistake. Next week will be 6 months from the day our kitchen cabinets and island were to be installed. This was to be completed 2 weeks before we brought home our newborn. If you don't feel like reading this, just know that I spent my entire maternity leave of 12 weeks warming and washing bottles, making coffee, and washing dishes in the bathroom because I did not have a kitchen. A lot of the problems here can be attributed to our so-called "designer," Helen. We had our kitchen gutted in the 2 two days leading up to the scheduled cabinet/island install. When the installer arrived, he was quick to let us know that Helen had ordered the wrong cabinets, and they would have to be re-ordered. There was nothing that he could install for us that day. Custom cabinets do not arrive quickly, but they were ordered and we were told that our install would take place the week of our baby's due date. I was okay with that - maybe the install would happen while we were in the hospital! Well, install day arrives, and yet AGAIN, the wrong cabinets were sitting in our living room. Another re-order. But at least this time, the installer was able to install a few of the cabinets that were not incorrect. When a few of the cabinets were installed, there were large spaces around the kitchen window where we assumed more cabinets would be. The installer let us know that actually, Helen failed to order cabinets for those large spaces! Major design flaw. We opted to have those cabinets ordered, even though this would add a few weeks to the install. Well, those cabinets arrived, and the wrong height cabinets had been ordered. Now what is extremely frustrating about this situation is, the wrong cabinets sat at our house for several weeks before the installer showed up to let us know that the wrong cabinets were here. So much wasted time, because apparently Home Depot only works with one installer for all of middle Tennessee. Every time something goes wrong, there is a wait of anywhere from 3-6 weeks for a spot in the schedule. The list goes on and on - there was a particular cabinet my husband wanted for the microwave drawer, and Helen and her manger both told us that it didn't exist. My husband did his own research, found the model number of the cabinet that DOES exist, and asked them to order it. Why are we the ones doing the designing here? Because the "designer" that Home Depot employs is completely incompetent. When I inquired to several people (who will remain unnamed) as to why Helen is still employed, they let me know that this is because she sells a lot of cabinets. My husband and I are one of the many who have had major issues with Helen as their designer. Another issue is the craftsmanship. Not only is my kitchen not completed, but the work that IS complete looks terrible. Seams that shouldn't be there, drawers that fall out, doors that are not level. I will attach pictures. But it is unfathomable to me that I am paying a $22k + Home Depot credit card every month, and this kitchen looks terrible. We were told months ago that the district manager would like to come to our house to see what is going on and to chat about how this could be made right. Needless to say, we have neither heard from nor seen a district manager. At this point, I wish I could have my money back and hire someone else to finish the work. I'm sick of dealing with it. This is beyond infuriating. Would never ever recommend to anyone. read more

Homeowner's beware of large truck delivery orders, they leave their junk behind for you to dispose of! I received a load of 44 bags of top soil, which for their convenience (not mine) comes on a wooden pallet. $700+ total order with a $79.00 delivery charge and Instead of taking 5-10 minutes to offload it, they drop it and run. So now they've left the large wooden pallet (their junk) behind for me to dispose of. Too large for any vehicle that I have, and my HOA wants it gone, so now I need to pay to have it hauled off. Asked the store to swing by and pick it up - said that's the way they do it, so it's mine now. Total lack of customer focus! - I'll find a Lowe's or a different Home Depot store to deal with in the future. No wonder this particular store has such low ratings. read more

I needed to purchase a heat/AC register. I went to Home Depot and bought one. When I got home I realized it was damaged. A bent corner. So back to Home Depot. I took a new one and went to pay only to realize it was also damaged! Back to the aisle. I looked carefully and found two of the five there were also damaged! I took the two damaged ones and one good one back to customer service. There I paid for the good one and left the damaged ones with the cashier who thanked me for bringing it to her attention. Then I tried to relay this information to other Home Depot customers by leaving a valid and honest review of the item. I tried three times but Home Depot rejected it every time. I contacted the executive offices of Home Depot to complain. They told me that since I was putting in something regarding an issue related to the store stock and not the item, it violated the review policy. I explained that this a good thing for Home Depot, warning customers of the potential of finding damaged items on the shelf. Making their experience better by not getting home and having to go back like I did. Their answer was still the same. The end result is that Home Depot censors and curates their online reviews. This means their online reviews cannot be trusted. They only allow the positive ones to be posted. Shame on Home Depot. read more

Husband came home tonight after trying to return some lights bought at Home Depot in Franklin. He works in carpentry and goes at least 5x a week and shops for about 4K a month in lumber and goods for his jobs. Apparently today, he used self checkout and then went to return some personal goods. The woman at the service desk accused him of placing the item in his cart and then trying to return it. Ummm no ma'am. He did not try to steal a 3.00 item he did not purchase- simply returning something he wasn't going to use (and lost a receipt) She was incredibly rude, and nasty... and will be reported tomorrow for trying to embarrass a loyal customer. Today i purchased multiple items from Home Depot including 6x6x12 lumber. I found everything I needed and the process went fine until I asked for the red (plastic) flag to designate the load extended past the bed. I spoke with three customer service people who had no idea what I was talking about.....finally a gentleman named Scot heard what I was requesting. A staff member was extremely rude, to the point that another customer reported the man to another employee and brought the other employee to me, to point me out. The other employee approached me, very politely, and mentioned he'd been told someone was very rude, even mean, to me. I explained that I politely asked the first employee where the Dewalt drill bits were (I didn't know I had a witness), and this elderly man hatefully told me Dewalt doesn't make drill bits but Milwaukee Tool drill bits were over there. 1) that's incorrect and 2) this man has no business in customer service, anywhere. Further, the self checkout employees, 3 of them, have more than once all been talking in a circle with their backs to the incoming customers. I'm going to another location that's a mile further from my home. People who fire themselves, really need to be notified by management... I'll never go back. read more

We ordered cabinets refacing thru Home Depot in June of 2021. We worked with a woman named Deborah. It is now April of 2022. 10 months later. We have had numerous installers. Original measurements were off. Cabinet doors were sent in the incorrect color. Work has been shoddy all the way thru. Home Depot called to schedule a complete redo of the previously done poor-quality work. We emptied all of the cabinets and prepared for the install. We called this morning and they said, oh the installer ran over on his last job we won't be there and don't know when we will reschedule." This is the 4th install. The last installer took one look at it and told us it needed to be 100% redone. Here we are again, waiting. There has been no customer service or anyone to advocate for us. Once Deborah, took the measurements, and sold it, she was done. Do not order cabinet work here if you're looking for quality or customer service. read more

The level of incompetence in this store is simply stunning. I go there about once a year, and then only if I can't find what I need somewhere else. Each time I have been reminded why I avoid this store. Today I needed a small plumbing part. The aisle was of course closed. There was an employee standing on a forklift...doing absolutely NOTHING. I waited and waited. He was just staring off into space....unaware of his surroundings. I finally gave up, and now vow to never return to this store. This isn't the first time this has happened, but it's the last time for me. As I left, the two teenage boys in their orange aprons were still pushing & shoving each other around the self-checkout aisle. Obviously they had nothing else to do. There couldn't have been more than a half dozen customers in the entire store the SATURDAY BEFORE CHRISTMAS. I'll be stunned if this store lasts more than a few more months. read more

Unfortunately, I did not have a pleasant experience at this Home Depot location. I went in with a few things on my list: boxes, packing tape, and dry wall putty - and somehow it was impossible to locate all three items. Upon entering the store, we were greeted by a young employee. I asked what exact materials I would need to patch up two drill holes in my wall. He looked at me with a more than confused face, and said he couldn't help me, and did not offer to find someone else who could help me find what I needed. A few minutes later, we were able to find another, more experienced employee. After explicitly explaining that I needed to patch up two small drill holes, he suggested I needed a saw in order to complete this task. I then again re-explained the situation, he left for several minutes, and then came back and suggested we needed to purchase dry wall putty. We then asked another young employee where we could locate boxes and packing tape. He suggested either the electronics aisle, or the tools aisle, both on opposite sides of the store. Another employee then told us we could just download the Home Depot App to find it. We asked him to look it up for us on his app, and told us we could find the tape in aisle 27. We asked where aisle 27 was - he could not give us the general direction. Walking to aisle 27, we quickly realized this was the TILE aisle, and there was no tape or boxes. Fortunately, we were able to locate the items ourselves. If i ever need to go to Home Depot again, I will just start off by walking around the store alone - the service was not only unhelpful, but was counter productive. read more

Sadly, when we visited this location this past weekend, signage has changed and they are NOT dog friendly. But we had our pup with us and noone said anything or looked disapprovingly at us, but just needed to correct. We'll be at Lowe's now. Original review: I do not often feel the need to review a chain hardware store, but there are possibly a few things about Home Depot you don't know that I'll share. First off, their stores are dog friendly. There's nothing better in my pup's opinion than getting to tag along on weekend errands, so if you have a trip to The Depot on your list, do so and make someone else's day. Secondly, they are very "generous" with their scratch and dent appliances. So if you are in the market for something, check your preferred location often, and don't be afraid to haggle. It's not a natural custom for Middle Tennesseans, and particularly not in a chain big box type store, but I promise - you'll get a little extra off for your troubles at least half the time. Third, they are also pretty eager to offer 12 months same as cash, 6 months same as cash, etc. - but unless you are better than me, you can't get the 10% off deals and financing. Now I must say that choosing between Lowe's and Home Depot, as a customer, I prefer Lowe's. But I don't prefer Lowe's mall traffic location unless we are really on the hunt for something and already headed that way. But all in all, not bad. read more

Today, I had one of the best experiences at Home Depot ever. I have been patronizing the store for years and my experiences with associates varied more toward the so-so side. However, today at the store on Royal Oaks in Franklin TN, I was helped by a delightful young man name Jack. He was in the plumbing isle and I needed some specific parts to repair a kitchen sink drain. He took the time to greet me very pleasantly first with a smile (I could see it behind his mask) and he took me to the section where I needed to be. He explained all of my options and provided me with the recommended parts and explained how they all were necessary to get the expected outcome I wanted. He then said if I ran into any issues, he or someone in the plumbing dept. would be glad to help troubleshoot them for me. This was an excellent service encounter with Jack and I was able to repair my sink drain with complete confidence. He provided me with everything I needed to get the job done right. Thanks Jack! Went to the store to get some ideas to put in a new kitchen only to find out there's absolutely nothing there or display for new cabinets except some tiny little nothing section. There is basically no kitchen displays to work with at all for any ideas I've never seen anything as bad as this in any Home Depot I would strongly recommend go to the nearby Lowe's where they have a beautiful display of various manufacturers and cabinetry. I came in looking for a cool rag for my dad, Zach not only walked me to where they typically are, but also researched the inventory when we didn't find them! He ended up finding a box that was not out on the floor yet, quickly located it and pulled it down for me. Though this was a small $5 item it meant a lot that he went out of his way help me! VERY UNIMPRESSED...Contacted my local Home Depot for an installation quote on a new water heater. ARS is their preferred vendor for said installation services. The guy comes out and spends 1.5 hours attempting to upsell me on a tankless through ARS and then a "like" replacement THROUGH ARS and AT TWICE THE COST OF PURCHASING DIRECTY FROM HOME DEPOT and having him install it. I recently purchased a $3000 LG Fridge from here. I had it delivered and hooked up for me. 2 days after it was delivered I noticed one of the doors was leaking a lot of water into the fridge. I called the next day and asked them to give me a new door or replace the fridge for me. I was told they had a 48 hour return policy, and I had to call LG to get anything solved. LG has been an absolute pain in getting it fixed, and after sending someone out, it is still leaking. Lowe's and Sears both have a 30 day policy on appliances. I will never shop at Home Depot again because of this. Anyone else would have given me another one and made sure I was taken care of. Lesson learned. read more
