We ordered a toilet from Home Depot for a home remodel and waited ... and waited ... and waited ... for a month. They had promised to deliver the toilet in four days!! We tracked the order which was tantalizingly close to Nashville after a week, sitting on the outskirts of town in La Vergne for a few days. Why wasn't it moving? We probably should have driven down and swiped it. Because next, it traveled to Virginia to New Jersey to Dallas to Virginia again. It continued its cross-country adventure through various states before arriving at our house a month late, interfering significantly with our remodel schedule! After considering for years to switch to Home Depot's main competitor just 7,007 feet away, we finally had the last straw. After spending hundreds of thousands of dollars at this singular location for a decade's worth of remodels and being perpetually disappointed, the 2026 ice storm hit Nashville. Tenuously making our way over the ice and out of our neighborhood, we were thankful to find Home Depot opened with the rest of Cool Springs being a ghost town. We desperately needed a generator after losing power, and they were prepared with stacks of them by the front door along with space heaters and flashlights. We had a $500 generator rung up and asked the employee how to use it, being a style of generator we had never used before. This bear of a man his grumbled "Look it up in the Internet!" There were no other customers, there was no reason to rush us out of the store, everyone was desperate in the middle of an unparalleled power outage in Middle Tennessee, and the brusque attitude was completely uncalled for. Look it up on the Internet? HEY, DUMMY! We have no power, no heat, no hot water, no Internet, and no cell service. How do you recommend we "look it up" on the Internet. Needless to say, we shall never return. read more

Like the winds of time, change supposedly comes to everything. In the case of Home Depot, it's simply inconsistency from day today from week to week from year to year .... And some things don't change. Biggest frustration for me is to go online to see if an item might be in stock. Then jot down the aisle and bin number and go to the store only to find out that the information I wrote down was incorrect. My solution -- simply check the store app and map....Same issue there: every item was off by at least one aisle. And when I checked for with a staff member. (Who was polite & congenial).... He said "I don't know where they have that today you might check...so and so area." Problem? Uh... I had already checked there and it's not where he guessed it might be. Check out? Another pain in the neck headache. First machine would not accept my loyalty number, so clerk entered it manually. Then the machine refused three times to accept my payment. Again, clerk who has been there, 10 years, said "it's always like this." Plans? Not coming back here too soon. read more

Not sure why so many negative reviews on this place... this is my favorite Home Depot! Now, this review is mostly for the garden center, with some purchases happening from the main store as well. Their selection on veggies/herbs is phenomenal! Staff is knowledgeable and kind and only tries to assist in any way they can. Since this COVID situation, it has been so safe there. Masks, distancing, safe practices, I have never felt unsafe visiting here. Home Depot Brentwood... thank you! I will keep visiting you. Note I live 1 mile from the Bellevue Home Depot and choose to drive 25 minutes to this location. They are worth it. read more

My children were so excited to see our new prop after arriving home from school. Funny story, my son prayed for a skeleton hearse on his way to school during morning prayer. I told him let's not pray for worldly things and continue to pray for others. Within two hours, I had a skeleton hearse in my car. Ha! Divine intervention. I needed to purchase a heat/AC register. I went to Home Depot and bought one. When I got home I realized it was damaged. A bent corner. So back to Home Depot. I took a new one and went to pay only to realize it was also damaged! Back to the aisle. I looked carefully and found two of the five there were also damaged! I took the two damaged ones and one good one back to customer service. There I paid for the good one and left the damaged ones with the cashier who thanked me for bringing it to her attention. Then I tried to relay this information to other Home Depot customers by leaving a valid and honest review of the item. I tried three times but Home Depot rejected it every time. I contacted the executive offices of Home Depot to complain. They told me that since I was putting in something regarding an issue related to the store stock and not the item, it violated the review policy. I explained that this a good thing for Home Depot, warning customers of the potential of finding damaged items on the shelf. Making their experience better by not getting home and having to go back like I did. Their answer was still the same. The end result is that Home Depot censors and curates their online reviews. This means their online reviews cannot be trusted. They only allow the positive ones to be posted. Shame on Home Depot. read more

I love The Home Depot and this is a great location (especially if you're also furniture shopping). We love to browse around... checking out fixtures, appliances, flooring, etc... for our home. Everyone at this store is especially friendly and helpful, but not in an annoying way. We were delighted to find a lot of good deals today, including a grill we'd been wanting (marked $200 less than the last time we'd seen it). Overall, this is probably my favorite Home Depot in the area and if you enjoy home improvement stores... then this is a good place to get your "fix". read more

OKAY SO... We have been getting our Christmas tress here for the past couple years. Last year it was super busy and the staff was not friendly. THIS YEAR - BIG CHANGE. I don't know if they searched high & low for the best and most friendly and most helpful staff, but that's what we got this year. There was a guy that was so incredibly friendly and helpful, he was incredible. I hope he gets a huge raise. He left us with his boxcutter to cut open the trees to find the best one, and he came back to check on us without stalking us. Once we had a few up and out to choose from he let us know which one looked greener would last us longer b/c it was fresher. Thankfully it also ended up being the best one! He helped us get it wrapped and cut for freshness and then helped secure it to our car. He then took a great pic of us on my phone per my request, and told us about buying his kid a car like ours (SUBARU). THANKFUL! IMPORTANT TO NOTE: - There weren't any registers open outside, so I had to go into the store and walk to the front desk with a ticket to get rung up that way. Quite the rudest customer service from James in lumber questioned us our purchase of 2k and needing our receipt multiple times with us pushing our cart. Was no help and had constant terrible attitude through out the evening . Understand it was an hour till closing but made it very obvious that he didn't want to help us. Didn't lift a finger on helping us load in 96 pieces of wood into the our truck that my boyfriend had to do. We will not be back to this location and take our money else where. read more

We moved to Tennessee from WA state and bought a home in Nolensville. We ordered our carpet at the beginning of Oct 2020 and we have had nothing but issues. The first issue was the day before the first installation date we received a call from the installation company to tell us that they didn't receive the carpet from the vendor and that Home Depot should have called to tell us and told us to reschedule. I called Home Depot in Brentwood TN where we purchased the carpet and was told that it was a vendor issue due to COVID 19 which I understood but couldn't understand why Home Depot couldn't have called me to inform me beforehand as members of our family took time off to help clear rooms and help with any furniture moving should need need be.  My parents live with us and they have been sleeping in their room with just a suitcase as their chest of drawers. Since then, installation of our carpet has changed dates 3 times, one of the employees of the Brentwood store also implied that it was our fault for ordering carpet for such a large area. Upstairs living room, 4 bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs. Don't people purchase carpet for multiple rooms at the same time? I don't get that? Today, we should have had our carpet installed, almost 5 months from when we purchased it, excited that this was finally happening, I called the store yesterday to make sure. My parents are still living out of a suitcase because their room is too small to keep taking their chest of drawers out and in.  The installers arrived at our home, checked the color of our carpet, stood around took some photos and told my mother, father and husband that they couldn't install the carpet as they were not getting paid enough by Home Depot to do so because our home was big, my husband was angry and told them that that really isn't our problem you need to take that up with home depot, and told them the carpet needs to be installed today. They left without saying a word... we are now waiting for Romanoff the installers and Home Depot to call us back as they said they would to figure out what the heck happened and what to do now, that was over 2 hours ago and still haven't had a call back yet. Surely HD installers have a measurement of the home they are installing the carpet in beforehand so they can determine if in fact they are getting paid enough for their job? the fact that HD advertise Free installation as well; why are they telling a customer that they aren't getting paid enough? And shouldn't it be good customer care to install the carpet and then figure out the money with HD not just leave the customer hanging? We now are sitting here with our beds taken down, our items packed away wondering if we are ever going to get the carpet installed that we paid just over $6000 for? I am beyond mad over this and really just want my carpet laid... I will not be purchasing anything of this magnitude from Home depot again. read more

You lost $2,500 because you don't understand business. I've been looking at fridges for the past month. Doing all the research and reading hundreds of reviews. This is an expensive purchase and returning a bad one is a hassle. Went into Cool Springs Home Depot on my way home from work as many people surely do. Went to the appliance department to actually purchase the fridge I decided on. I asked the teenager working in the department for help. I had a question about the fridge that I didn't see answered online. When I asked him, he took the info card from the fridge and went to search the HD website for info. I told him that I already did that and that is why I was asking him. He told me that he was "pretty new" so he didn't know much. I asked if there was someone else who knew about appliances. He told me that all the people who know about appliances leave at 4:30. I then asked him about the return policy on a fridge. Dumbfounded, he asked if I wanted to speak to a manager. I said yes. He called the front and then told me that there are two managers in the store - one just left at 4:30 when his shift was over and the other is on lunch but I could wait until he was done. So what you have here is a clear message that your 'good' people leave work at 4:30 and that you leave a department where a sale is thousands of dollars up to people who are totally unqualified potentially giving people no information or wrong information on a major purchase. Says a lot about how you feel about your business and your customers. read more

I had a terrible experience at this Home Depot several weeks ago.....a guy in the paint department was especially rude to me, and I decided to leave. I tried calling the store, and when I didn't get someone I emailed the corporate office. I hate to complain like that but this situation warranted it. Well, well, well.....let's just say I was pretty blown away by the response I recieved! I received a phone call from the corporate office, followed by a phone call and email from the store manager! He was SUPER nice and apologetic, and I was honestly very impressed. He invited me to the store to meet him, and when I did, he gave me a can of paint and primer for the troubles! This was above and beyond what I ever expected! I can easily say I'll be coming back to this place as they have earned it! read more

I'm not a big fan of Home Depot in general, but this location is better than others (i.e., the Bell Road location). I give this location the nod for having a better green house selection than most other stores. After they built the gas station at this location they took some heat for under-pricing their gas in order to get people to their location to shop. As a shopper, I'm all in favor of free market competition, so I appreciated the lower gas prices. While this certainly is not my first choice for home and garden stores, it does the job in a pinch. read more

We were looking to get an outdoor shed for our lawnmower and bikes and came across one we liked and only this location in the Nashville area had it in stock. I called on 8/22/19 @ 10:30 am to see if they had one assembled for us to look at. I went through the prompts to get the garden dept. No answer, so I was routed to the Service Desk. The woman was polite "enough" and connected me to the garden dept. I was on hold for just under 5 minutes when I was hung up on. I used to work for HD and I know that calls don't get "disconnected" - I was purposely hung up on. We did get the shed - but from Amazon $30 cheeper and delivered to the house. Sorry HD you lost a $500 order :( read more

Beware of the damage insurance they charge but don't disclose to you that is optional on rental equipment. When I asked what the charge was they told me and I asked them to remove but they said they couldn't since they had closed the ticket out. It was never mentioned at time of pick up or return until I looked at the receipt. Also, when picking up the equipment they were understaffed and it took about 20 minutes just to talk to someone. read more

I rented a moving truck today and had a great pickup experience, but drop off was a nightmare thanks to a gentleman named Jim. My husband is on active duty in the military, so I am coordinating a move by myself. I rented the truck for the full day originally, but managed to get done a couple of hours early. On my way back, I refueled to a full tank of gas. When I picked it up, the "miles to E" gauge read 319 and was considered "full"; however, when I dropped it off and provided a fuel receipt (which I was not told to do when picking up the vehicle, I just happened to have it), Jim, an elderly gentleman at the rental desk, told me that it was not considered "local" since it was 20 miles down the road. The same "miles to E" gauge read 327 when I dropped off the truck. I asked this employee to come check the fuel gauge and see it reads "full", and he refused but offered to charge me $6.50 per gallon to top it off. I took the keys and obliged him by refilling the tank with a gallon of gas. My husband called and spoke with the manager, who said that was not corporate policy. It really made a long day feel longer. I hope Jim was just having a bad day or something and that it wasn't just a power trip - either way horrible experience and hope no one else has to deal with him. read more

Bought pine straw last week and it was loaded with ticks. I have never had so many ticks in pine straw. I thought this may be a problem with this seasons pine straw, but purchased more from a competitor at a better price & did not see 1 tick. The bales seem to get smaller every year as well. read more

"Can I help you?" These words are music to my ears when I walk into a store. Why yes, yes you can help me.... Where is xyz product? And then, magic!, the salesperson actually KNOWS where it's located and can tell me on what aisle it is. Is this too much to ask? I don't think so. So, happy to report that Home Depot has employees that actually know what products they carry in their store. Granted, they didn't carry everything I needed, but they knew what they did and did not have... that's the main thing. Also, I had to make a return and it was so easy. The cashier scanned my receipt, scanned the product I returned, bada bing, bada boom, "please sign here" and it was done. So fast! I didn't have to get my credit card out, didn't have to have a manager called up to the front, couldn't have been any faster. read more

I can't speak volumes about the actual home repair side of this establishment because I've only ever visited to buy some flowers. What I love about this Home Depot is the gas. That came out wrong. What I'm trying to say is that their gas is usually the cheapest in the area. The only compliment is that the pumps don't have locks so you have to stand there and hold the handle. This usually kind of hurts my hand. However, I will take a sore hand if I get to save $.30. read more

My husband and I stopped in Home Depot yesterday morning looking for carpet for our new house in Orange Beach, AL. We asked for an estimate for carpeting three bedrooms. The Flooring Specialist (Adam Scruggs) gave us a rough estimate for carpet and padding. He was very knowledgeable of the carpet and patiently answered all of our questions. We decided to purchase carpet, but when we told him it was for a house in Orange Beach, he said that we would have to work directly with the Home Depot there. He made certain that we had all of the information that we needed to contact the Foley, AL, Home Depot. We are sorry that we could not have purchased the carpet from him. Last night I rented a van to move a stove from a person to another person. The man at the tool rental desk was incredibly rude, during the ENTIRE transaction, including when we returned the truck. He's in customer service....He needs to be let go if he cannot give good customer service. Maybe he was having a bad day, but I have worked in customer service for 38 years and it's the job, so you just paste a smile on your face and deal with it. I will not shop at this store again. I'd call to report him to the manager,but their "press 7 for blah blah" recording was not working last night, so when I came in I needed to ask a lot of questions and this guy was not only rude and curt, but acted as if I was bothering him. No fewer than 4 associates pleasantly addressed me on my search for contractor bags and an air filter. There were a couple 'no thank yous' and two short but pleasant conversations. However the two young gentlemen at the register apparently slept in during customer service training (Griffin and Elijah, I'm looking at you!) When a customer (or any person really) greets you, make eye contact and respond. Continuing a banal conversation with your coworker about a blown call at a football game for the extent of the transaction instead is poor form. read more

Unbelievable. I went there today for Leviton 3-way lighted switches. When I got home two of the boxes had two way switches in the box. I paid over $10 each and got a $1.50 switch. Bought a Reconditioned Ryobi Leaf Blower for $130 June 2019 Blower became inoperative 10 months later. Took Blower to Home Depot under 1 year warranty. Home Depot made me put down a $20 deposit to service warranty product. Home Depot later calls they want $279 dollars to fix my warranty product, said parts where 3 years old not under warranty. Yes the machine was built in 2016. Today, the blower brand new costs $230 so I declined the repair. Broken Blower sent back to me. I now see notes from repair shop saying I used "stale fuel" which caused the problem. So, how do you defend "stale fuel". I use real gas. My fuel mix was 3-4 months old. Maybe it was bad. I can't test it. Maybe the reconditioned engine was used with improper fuel before I bought it, thus the reason it was "reconditioned". Maybe because the machine sat unused on a self for 2-3 years, who knows what the real cause was. So I ask for my $20 deposit back. Was told it was on my "card". Went home, checked my statements and $20 credit was not on my card....Returned to Home Depot for my $20 deposit...Was told they don't give that back if you decline service, "sometimes". So now I am the sometimes person with a broke machine. So the numbers again.... They wanted $270 to repair a (unknown to me 3 year old) machine I paid $130 for 10 months earlier. I can buy a new machine for $230. So, now I have a $150 total in a broken machine used around the house for 10 months. Machine ruined by who? My stale fuel, The previous owner hidden misuse, or 2-3 year non-use on a self somewhere. Do you yourself a favor....buy new... and do business with a reputable company. read more

Dan in the paint department is amazing. He is so nice and helpful. I will say one thing though, he needs help. There should not be only one person scheduled to work in the paint department on a BUSY Sunday afternoon. This Home Depot has totally failed in their service to us. We ordered one simple slab door with standard measurements in early June 2019 and it is finally going to be installed today September 20, 2019. We paid for it in full months ago. We have made calls and jumped through every hoop possible, trying to get this door. It was delivered with the wrong directional opening first after we had told the order taker twice very specifically to check how the door swings in. They seem unconcerned, and for that reason I will not be doing my entire kitchen renovation with them as I had planned. read more

This review mostly pertains to the gardening center, since this is the part of the store I tend to end up in. I'm not really a fan of Home Depot in general, for reasons I won't get into, but this section of the store is worth visiting. The selection is pretty impressive. For the past few years, I've been able to purchase everything I need to stock and maintain my vegetable garden in one trip (minus garden salsa starter plants, why are those things only found at farmers' markets?). The flowers and shrubbery selection also looks pretty good, if that's your thing. In April, they ran a 5 for $10 sale on starter plants and soil. If they have this next year, take advantage! Entire cost to plant my 6x9 garden this year, including tiller rental: $150 read more

This really should have been a NO STAR review but I've never before done this bad a review in my life!~ The paperwork was my first clue-they started by writing up the incorrect carpeting TWICE. Then the prices were incorrect. Then I had to try & call to correct but no one answers the phone at Home Depot! If I hadn't had caught that paperwork repeated mistake who knows what would have happened? Finally, after nearly 2 months the installer finally showed up (they tried to change the date up to a week before!). He was professed to be the best they had according to the Regional Customer Care guy I had contact me to ask how everything went, which was like rubbing salt in the wounds. The installer and a helper frenetically started to move stuff, (much further away than they had to) & his helper almost started cutting up the old carpet before everything was even moved, but I stopped him. Then came an armoire they never did move because they started on the platform bed in another bedroom first (they had pictures/drawings/etc. before he even arrived knowing what items were there & what work it would require, so there should have been no surprise). There was writing inside the bedframe written there by the previous mover/dis-assmbler of the bed (also Home Depot!) & that totally befuddled him. He was so frightened by dealing with something a bit different that he ultimately refused to try to take the bed apart. (I had my handyman do it that same afternoon in literally 15 minutes). I even offered to guarantee to anyone that if a problem occurred I would not hold them responsible, but alas, to no avail). Still,-he left after much back & forth on the phone, wasting months of waiting, & all our time yesterday. Needless to say, I wouldn't allow them to only do part of the job, & they left the three rooms & stairs undone! Trying to call Home Depot for help was another futile exercise in frustration. I thus had to cancel my order. Of note, ALL of Home Depot's carpet installation is done by Romanoff who hires outside sub contractors, & Romanoff's ONLY business is Home Depot's according to the man I spoke with at Romanoff todayt. Learning lesson: READ THE REVIEWS! ALL THAT & MORE ARE TRUE. If anything in your home isn't standard & ordinary, BUYER BEWARE. I wouldn't shop for carpet again with Home Depot if they gave me a gift card covering all the costs. read more
