We purchased all of our appliances there for our new home and three new toilets there as well. It wasn't until sometime after that the toilets were installed that we discovered that the toilet seat was disfigured. Upon trying to return the toilet seat today and request a new one either from the toilet set or one from their shelves, the associate at the front said that it was very unhygienic to put a toilet seat on her counter and that it wasn't even in a plastic bag. Since the toilet seat had not been used I did not feel like it was unhygienic. She said that they don't take returns on toilet seats and if the toilet was purchased beyond a return date that no returns would be permitted -- are you listening CONTRACTORS? To prove the seat was unused I licked the damn thing. Apparently proof isn't what the manager wants and ordered me out of the store, saying that it was vile to do that in front of his associate. He also said that if he never sees me again, he'd be most happy. I asked if he was serious and he replied, "please leave my store." There are other places to purchase hardware and construction items so don't buy from Mike. He's a jerk who might have been having a bad day and decided to refuse service to someone who has spent over $6,000 in one year in his store. BTW, their delivery service is shabby. read more

Will not go back. I bought 4 appliances, totaling $5700 (including taxes, delivery, etc). Long story short, appliances didn't arrive on time (appliances were ordered and paid for 1 month prior to estimated date of delivery). We got the run-around every day (being bounced between Home Depot call center, the carrier company, Home Depot store and Home Depot Toronto complaints department) until they arrived, 3 days late, with no accountability. The carrier company blamed Home Depot and GE for the lateness; Home Depot blamed the carrier company. Delivery guys showed up without calling ahead (we were told they would; delivery guys had no idea), and damaged our home during delivery of the appliances. The carrier company coerced me into taking $100 instead of sending someone to fix the house, but I haven't heard from them since. We had to be forceful in our dealings with the carrier company, otherwise they would have been 4 days late and I told them that was unacceptable. Overall, a very unprofessional experience. After 2 days of no delivery, we found out that the carrier company could have offered us a loaner-fridge while we waited for delivery, but they never mentioned it (we used a cooler with ice packs in the meantime). During all of this, NO ONE ever called me back (I initiated all the calls). Good news: appliances work great. Other news: We ended up getting $253 ($225 +tax) back as compensation, which ALMOST makes up for our additional day in hotel (because we couldn't move in without a fridge) and eating out those extra days (family of 4). I told them that was pittance considering it was a $5700 order, but they told me they couldn't do better. I expect a reasonable amount would be to compensate customers 5% of the order for every day it was late. This would have totaled $855. If they had reimbursed me this amount, I would have continued to shop there, as their on-floor customer service was really great. FYI - for any Home Depot managers reading this, I have more large purchases to make (like a deep-freeze and a shed) and I will not buying from Home Depot. read more

Horrible experience every time. 1- ordered $2300 worth of appliances, fridge is not working properly already (dripping water on the floor daily), called the appliance line, the guy says literally that all of these "GE" fridges are like that and suggested to 'put vaseline on the hinge'- I kid you not. Home depot is saying there's nothing wrong with the fridge 2- went in to buy trim and plywood pieces, waited for over 20 min for my turn to cut 1 piece of wood, while the worker kept on happily chatting away with a customer in front of me without any acknowledgement, then proceeded to try to double charge me as if it was 1/4'' thick and not 1/8''- I'm sorry but your workers that work in lumber dept and only deal with wood cannot visually tell thickness? (all of those pieces were missing stickers, btw) 3- the real kicker... Bought 5 different gallons of paint for a whole house remodel, all went well until i opened one and could tell right away it wasnt mixed right- too thin, no viscosity, all pigment. I stirred and stirred, splashed a bit into a tray and gave it a try- nope, was bleeding and looking like watercolors on the wall, so I had to abandon the project, wait until after holiday Monday and first thing Tuesday I went in to the store, which is 40 km away for me, btw. I get there, stand in a return line wanting a refund, then a remake. 10min go by- total ignorance. Ok, i head over straight to the paint section where theres now 3 workers present. I tell them what happened and how I would like the paint remade. The guy tells me "all Glidden paints are thin"- I explain agai how its not just think it's unusable and show him a photo taken on my phone. A few more back and forths, and i ask him if he is seriously refusing to remake the paint for me, considering everything I've said. He calls over Tracy, they talk off to the side for a bit, returns back to me with same container and says- there you go, it's all better now, 'just had to be stirred up a bit"- again I am shocked that they are seriously refusing to remake paint from scratch so I don't have to take a chance on this one when I get home. Tracy proceeds to reassure me that even if they remake it, it won't look any different and my concerns are completely irrelevant. I feel defeated, unheard, unvalued and unappreciated as a customer. Clearly nothing I say at this point will change their minds. Here's the follow up: upon getting home, paint is bubbly! (i've never seen anything like that), still too thin and won't dry properly on the wall. Thank Home Depot and the paint department, I officially cannot stand you and will be taking my business elsewhere PS my family had spend over $3000 in this store last month. read more

I give this place mixed reviews. Its kind of a mix bag in there. Some people (anyone over 30) are really great and know their stuff, others have no clue what is going on and are no help. The customer service desk could really use some smarter kids behind the counter. Really love the lady at the paint desk, super knowledgeable and always helpful :) read more

I had purchased a GP7500 generac potable generator ; great generator; I deal and have with home depot for good many years; my generator has electric start which indicates it comes with a battery charger ; now me being a senior I was not aware of that till such time as the battery ran down; I never got a battery charger with my purchase; even though it indicates all electric start come with a charger ; I approached the staff ; comment was we do not carry that model anymore; or was that a excuse to direct my issue elsewhere ; the answer should have been lets see if I can order you one ; or see what I can do too assist you ; this does not take from this generator or the majority of the staff ; being a senior I enjoy the home depot fredericton N.B. store wishing they could have made a better effort is all with thanks '' Roberta_robichaud@yahoo.ca 1 506 450 9151 read more

I was totally disappointed when I found out I couldn't take our dog into the store when every other hardware store in town allows dogs in their stores. Too bad Home Depot... I went across the street to Kent and will not be shopping in your store again. read more

I wanted some lumber and drywall delivered to my home, that's all. Rather than pay the delivery fee of $40, I opted for what appeared to be the reasonably cheaper rent-a-van option for $25. They require a $500 damage deposit on the van (which is understandable, though not mentioned in any promotional materials), but refused to accept debit or cash - it must be credit. They were less than forth-coming about the small detail of how I might pay for this - I was prepared to offer cash or debit, they would only accept credit. When asked why they would not accept legal tender I was told that it was "just the way the system worked." I was sent from one end of the store to the other and almost back again before the staff worked themselves out, no one indicated to me where my order would be waiting, nor was anyone there to confirm that it was my order - I figured it out on my own. The general attitude seemed to be that I should read their minds. Renting the van was a headache that saved me a grand total of almost $9 off the cost of delivery and wasted nearly an hour of my time. Next time I need anything hardware-related, I will go anywhere but this Home Depot location. I would drive to bloody Moncton before I go there again. Also, I asked for a comment/complaint form and was informed that they were only available online, while I see no such option on their website. Apparently they don't care to improve. read more

After shopping around for a few days the best deal I could find a washer and dryer was at Best Buy. It was an in-store sale. I contacted Home Depot and ask them if they would honour the in-store sale at Best Buy. When I had asked them this, he stated that as long as I got a they would. Upon arriving at the Home Depot with the quote they did not honour it. When I asked to see their manager they just said the manager was on break and wouldn't let us talk to him or her. read more
